Resto Mod!  Not an original 427 Car or SS

Freshly finished 1967 Camaro.  This car is super nice & extremely clean.  A ton of details have been completed, including the underside.  Drive it, show it, stick in your museum, you can do any of them.  Pictures are worth a 1,000+ words.  Please feel free to email me questions and I'll answer them the best I can.

The Black paint is so deep, it looks like you can fall into it.  It has power disc front & drum rear brakes.  The 427 big block engine has a decently sized cam in it with tons of chrome and aluminum outside.  Turbo 400 Trans.  Jet Coated headers with dual exhaust all the way back.  Sounds as good as it looks.  Dana 60 Posi-Tract rear end.  It would take me all day to list everything it has, so please look at the pictures carefully.  The engine probably has about 2,000 miles on it since the rebuild.  I listed 100,000 because I'm not sure what it really has and don't want to mislead anybody.  No power steering, no A/C, side windows have some scratches (showing their age), wipers are there, but missing the motors. All lights, signals, etc. work.  New windshield, new back glass.  Dash and instrument panel were painted/polished when the windshield was out, along with the door steel & rear dash panel, etc..  New door handles, locks, side mirrors, rear view mirror, weather stripping, bumpers, emblems, headliner, visors, sail panels, etc.  The cowl induction hood is steel.  The hideaway headlights work perfectly.  Polyurethane bushings.  I can go on & on, please look at the pictures...

It' a very tasteful and classy build.  The new owners are going to be extremely pleased.  I'll help work with the shipping company loading the car, but won't supply shipping.  Please, if you win, use a covered hauler!  Please bid it to win it, not for fun.  I've had problems in the past of people bidding up my cars, then disappearing. Title is in hand.  Good Luck!

Man spent $75 on a truck that lasted 38 years

Mon, Jan 5 2015

Absurd as it is, some buyers today are worried about getting their car to last throughout the term of their seven-year car loan. Minnesota resident Bob Sportel has the opposite issue: his Chevrolet truck seemingly won't die. Sportel needed a cheap ride to get to work when he took a job at a farmer's co-op 38 years ago, so he bought a rusty 1957 Chevy pickup for $75 from a farmer; at the time, the 20-year-old truck was almost as old as Bob was. After nearly four decades of daily driving and an estimated 300,000 miles, Sportel is still driving the truck today. Bolts secure a fender, Bondo secures the lights, what looks like a whole roll of duct tape keeps him sitting on the bench seat instead of in it. For a 58-year-old pickup that's never seen a garage or a new coat of paint – but did get its oil changed four times a year – that's not bad; Sportel thinks his repair bill hasn't got above $1,000 for the entire time he's owned the truck. He still has no plans to get rid of it, saying, "It just becomes a part of you." You can watch his story in the video above. News Source: KARE11.com Chevrolet Truck Classics Videos

Auto sales in March and first quarter down nearly across the board

Wed, Apr 3 2019

Nearly every major automaker reported weak U.S. sales for March and the first quarter of 2019, citing a rough start to the year, but said a robust economy and strong labor market should encourage consumers to buy more vehicles as 2019 rolls on. GM, which no longer releases monthly sales figures, saw first-quarter sales fall 7 percent, with declines across all brands. Sales of Silverado pickup trucks fell nearly 16 percent and the high-margin Chevy Suburban large SUV dropped 25 percent. Ford also no longer releases monthly sales numbers, but is due to release its first-quarter sales figures on Thursday. According to industry data, Ford's sales fell 2 percent in the quarter and 5 percent in March. Ford representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment. FCA reported a 7 percent fall in U.S. sales in March and a 3 percent drop for the first quarter. All of FCA's brands dropped in March, except for Ram, which saw a 15 percent increase in pickup truck sales. "The industry had a tough first quarter, but with spring finally starting to show its face and continued strong economic indicators ... we are confident that new vehicle sales demand will strengthen going forward," FCA's U.S. head of sales, Reid Bigland, said in a statement. Toyota reported a 3.5 percent fall in U.S. sales in March and 5 percent for the first quarter, hurt by declining demand for its Corolla sedans and Camry vehicles. "While some of our competitors are abandoning sedans, we remain optimistic about the future of the segment," Toyota said in a statement. Nissan posted a 5.3 percent drop in sales in March, and its first-quarter sales were down 11.6 percent. Honda and Hyundai bucked the trend. Honda's U.S. sales rose 4.3 percent in March and 2 percent in the quarter, while Hyundai's were up 1.7 percent and 2.1 percent, respectively. Passenger-car sales suffered throughout the January-March quarter compared with the same period in 2018 as Americans continued to abandon them in favor of larger, more comfortable pickup trucks and SUVs, which are far more profitable for automakers. The battle for market share in the particularly lucrative large-pickup truck market intensified in the quarter, as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' Ram brand outsold the U.S.' No. 1 automaker General Motors' Chevrolet-brand trucks. The two automakers have both launched redesigned pickup trucks.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
