Up for auction is a 67 Camaro RS convertible.
This is a very restorable Camaro, It needs the typical quarters, doors, outer rockers, and fenders. The floors have the typical patches in both rear foot wells, and one in the passenger side front foot area. However, the rest of the floor is in really solid shape (see pictures). Spring perches, rear frame rails, inner rocker area are in really good condition. The floor bracing is really nice. The trunk floor and shock towers are in very good rust free condition. The convertible top is in very good condition, no tears. The rear window does need to be replaced. The convertible top frame is in excellent condition, all latches work great and function very well. Window regulators work freely. Door glass is in fair condition. It has American Racing 15x7 outlaw wheels that are in good shape.
This is a V8 327 power glide Rally Sport car. I purchased this from the second owner who has had this since the very early 70's. do to front end damage back in the day, the previous owner replace the front end with a base model front clip instead of replacing the correct RS clip. The 327 (ME code) was taken out to rebuild and was replaced with a 6 cylinder......Your guess is as good as mine. It does have the original power glide trans and factory 10 bolt rear end. I DO NOT HAVE THE original engine....wish I did. The fun part is you can make this car anything you want, original, pro tour etc. without feeling guilty for cutting up a rare numbers car.
The Car does run and drive, not real well, but I have driven it up the road a few times with no issues. The power brakes and power steering etc. all work very well. You can easily drive it on a trailer, however I would not plan on driving it home unless you live next door. My plan was to restore this for myself, however I decided to restore a 69 instead...trust me it was a real hard decision.
Overall, I would rate this in relatively "fair" shape. Its been apart, but is still in one piece and very restorable. I have the clear Illinois title.
The pictures really explain this car best!
With that said, If you are in the market for a first generation Camaro convertible that with a little work you can drive now, or for a really good restoration project, this would make the perfect candidate.
Thanks for looking. If you have any questions at all please feel free to ask.
Please serious bidders only. I require a 500.00 non refundable deposit at the end of auction.
I reserve the right to end auction early.
If you have less than 10 bid history please contact me first... I will cancel bids!
Happy Bidding!!!!

Race Recap: 2013 Twelve Hours of Sebring, cakewalk up front, grindfest out back [w/spoilers]
Tue, 19 Mar 2013This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...
GM starting to talk seriously about 200-mile EV
Sun, Oct 12 2014We've been hearing word of a 200-mile EV from Chevrolet for a while now. First, there was General Motors then-CEO Dan Akerson hinting at a $30,000, 200-mile EV that would take the competition by surprise. Then Akerson confirmed that GM is working on a 200-mile EV in a speech in March. LG Chem, which supplies batteries to GM and other automakers, recently said it was working on batteries for EVs with a range of 200 miles. GM's head of global product development Mark Reuss just re-confirmed that there are plans for an EV with a 200-mile range, and sources have told Automotive News what that car will be. While Reuss didn't mention anything about a specific model or platform, two undisclosed sources with knowledge of GM's plans have said that an EV with a range of about 200 miles is indeed in the works, and that it will be based on the Chevrolet Sonic. The sources also gave a timeline for the car, saying it is slated for sometime in 2017. According to Reuss, the plan is for Chevy to offer a lineup of electric cars, with the 200-mile EV joining ranks of the Chevrolet Volt and the Spark EV. He didn't hint at a timeline, but if the sources are correct, we could see a Sonic EV being built within a few years. Reuss sees demand for it, too. When speaking of the Spark EV, currently only available in California and Oregon, he says that "people wish we would sell it all around the country." If he's right about that, it's not difficult to imagine people taking interest in Chevrolet's 200-mile electric car, whether or not it's a Sonic.
Before Chevrolet's Redline, there was the Saturn Red Line
Thu, Feb 9 2017While Chevy rolls out Redline special editions across more of the lineup at this year's Chicago Auto Show, we've been eating some 'member berries and started thinking about the last time GM used the term. Back in 2004, Saturn rolled out Red Line (two words) editions of the Ion and Vue. The lineup was joined by the Sky Red Line in 2007, and the second-generation Vue kept the tradition going in 2008. This was in the heady days of the mid-2000s, before the financial crisis and GM's bankruptcy reorganization that saw the end of Saturn. The press release headline for the 2008 Sky is now cringe-worthy: "Hot-selling Sky helps drive Saturn product renaissance." Performance lineups were the hot new thing, as automakers attempted to cash in on the tuner trend popularized by The Fast and the Furious. Chevy had SS models, Pontiac had GXP, and Saturn had Red Line. Across the Detroit Metro area, Dodge had a slew of SRT models, and Ford's Special Vehicle Team brought us the SVT Lightning pickup, the SVT Focus, and a smattering of hopped-up Mustangs. The performance cred of Red Line models varied from car to car. The Ion Red Line shared the same engine as the original Chevy Cobalt SS, a 205-horsepower supercharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, 65 hp more than stock. Car and Driver tested one with a 0-to-60-mph time of 6.1 seconds and said the Ion "tears down the wall that has separated enthusiasts from the Saturn brand for so long." The Vue Red Line, meanwhile, came with the same optional Honda-sourced 3.5-liter V6 you could get in the regular Vue, and added a stiffer, lower suspension, bigger wheels with more aggressive rubber, and recalibrated steering assist. When the Vue was redesigned for the 2008 model year, the Vue Red Line was a similar proposition. The engine was now from GM, and up 7 horsepower to 257, but you could get it in both Red Line and XE trim. Aside from the tire and suspension upgrades, Red Line models now came with a unique front fascia and rear exhaust cutouts. The most exciting Red Line, of course, was the high-performance version of the Sky roadster, which shared underpinnings with its Pontiac Solstice twin. This model came with GM's hot 2.0-liter Ecotec Turbo, good for 260 horsepower. The extra power was crucial in covering up the Sky's unfortunate manual gearbox ratios, which left the non-turbo model aching for torque in lower gears. As we all know, Saturn was taken by the grim reaper in 2009 after an attempt to sell the brand to the Penske Group.
