Chipper box was not original to the truck (had flat bed before) and is in excellent shape. There is very little to no rust on the box itself but the tool boxes have a little rust. Has strong 5.7 GM 350 engine. Bought the truck earlier this year but found that a standard dump truck would better fit our needs. Strong! Tires in great shape! Mechanically sound drives straight. Brakes feel newer. However, as you'll find with any older GM truck the ABS does not work and there is an exhaust leak in the manifold but not to the point that its loud and annoying. Not a big deal, does not affect performance. Strong Electric/Hydraulic dump. I am the second owner but I haven't even driven it 3k miles yet. Was fleet maintained by previous owner who told me that he put a new engine in it. No idea when but I believe him as he has a great reputation."

Great work ready truck at a great price! Save money and get it now before it sells! These trucks are fairly rare and very few are on the market. Please see condition description for more info. $500 payment via Paypal due at auction close. Remainder of payment due when truck is picked up with certified bank check and/or cash. Local pick up only. However, I may meet you half way depending on your location for an additional fee. Contact me if needed and we can work something out. I am also selling this vehicle locally so I reserve the right to end auction early. I am the second owner but I haven't even put 3k miles since purchasing in March. The only reason I am selling is because we were planning on getting more into trees but have found we don't have the time for it and a standard dump truck would better fit our needs.

We used the truck to chip into only about a half of dozen times. The other times it was pulling a mowing trailer or bobcat. Automatic Transmission appears to shift smoothly and not have any issues. Stops very well and there is no rust on the rims. Immediately after purchase I changed the oil and put a new K&N lifetime air filter in it. The heat works and is hot but there is no A.C. The interior is a blue like color with vinyl seats and floor. Speakers work but the stereo seems to be unable to pick up any stations (needs new antenna?). There is no tape or CD player. Manual windows and locks. There is rust on the rocker panels which is expected for its age and is typical on a GM truck but other than that the cab appears to be rust free. No cracks in any of the glass. In the spring, we loaded it with river rock a few times and it handled the weight and dumped like a champ!

Vehicle is sold as is. I described the vehicle to the best of my knowledge but I am not a mechanic. I haven't had any issues with it. The previous owner only sold to me because he was updating his fleet. Feel free to contact me if you would like a test drive.

5 classic trucks and their polarizing modern revivals

Sun, Mar 3 2024

EVs are helping eliminate Detroit's gas-guzzling problem. Some revivals of gas-powered classics are getting the EV treatment.  But not every revived model looks exactly like its original counterpart. We're in a new era of hulking Detroit metal, and you can thank EVs. Americans can't get enough of their big, beefy trucks and SUVs. But for many years, some of the biggest gas guzzlers fell out of fashion as gas prices rose and emissions regulations tightened. But in the past few years, some of the most iconic American truck nameplates have been brought back to life with electric motors, like the GMC Hummer. In other cases, as with the Ford Bronco, improvements in engine technology and more interest in rugged adventure vehicles made a gas-powered revival possible. Even some revivals that started as gas-powered, like the Chevy Blazer and the Jeep Wagoneer, are now getting electrified spinoffs. (Even if they don't always look quite as sleek as their original inspiration.) Here are side-by-sides of five classic American trucks and their modern counterparts. The Jeep Wagoneer 1975 Jeep Wagoneer and 2024 Electric Jeep Wagoneer SStellantis After a long wait, Jeep released its revival of the classic Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer in 2020. Starting later this year, an electric version of the luxury Jeep SUV will join the Wagoneer lineup. The Chevrolet Blazer A 1973 Chevrolet Blazer and a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EVGetty Images, General Motors The Chevrolet Blazer was first rebooted in 2019 as a sporty family SUV. The modern Blazer shares zero resemblance to its boxy, off-roading older sibling, but it has still managed to become one of Chevy's more popular SUVs in recent years. The Blazer EV came later, and was one of the first models GM built on its new Ultium battery platform. The Hummer A Hummer H2 and the 2023 Hummer EV pickup truckGetty Images, General Motors Once the poster child for Detroit's big, bad gas guzzlers, the Hummer got new life as an electric pickup truck in 2021. The Ford Bronco A 1971 Ford Bronco and a 2022 Ford BroncoFord Motor Co. After a rouge group of engineers and designers inside Ford spent years trying to breathe life back into the Blue Oval's boxy off-roader, the Ford Bronco was finally resurrected in 2020 amid a rise in popularity for rugged adventure vehicles. Burt Reynolds' movie re-creations fetch $379,500 in Vegas

Wed, Oct 3 2018

The recent death of Hollywood legend and automotive enthusiast Burt Reynolds helped drive up the value of four of his former cars from the 1970s and '80s, which sold last weekend at Barrett-Jackson's Las Vegas auction for a combined $379,500. Reynolds, who died Sept. 6 at age 82, had offered three Pontiac Trans Ams — two of them re-creations of the cars he drove in "Smokey and the Bandit" and "Hooper" and the third from 1984 used to promote his United States Football League team, the Tampa Bay Bandits. The fourth was a 1978 Chevrolet R30 pickup truck, styled like the one featured in "Cannonball Run." The "Bandit" re-creation, a 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am that Reynolds ordered to be as "movie-correct" as possible but featuring a custom-built 200-4R automatic transmission, sold for $192,500. The car features a freshly built Pontiac 400 cubic-inch V8 mated to a four-speed automatic and featuring all-new Butler Performance parts and air-conditioning components. Reynolds reportedly said this was his favorite car from his films, and it even came with an authentic movie-correct CB radio and CB antenna. The red retro-rocket "Hooper" '78 Firebird, with a 403 cubic-inch V8 and a three-speed automatic, hammered for $88,000. By comparison, a gold 1978 Trans Am also offered at the Las Vegas auction but not connected to Reynolds fetched $27,500. The 1987 Chevy R30 pickup was a re-creation of the Indy Hauler pace truck seen jumping over a moving freight train in "Cannonball Run." It hammered for $49,500. The fourth car never appeared in any of Reynolds' films but is instead the only surviving example of two Trans Ams used to promote the Tampa Bay Bandits of the now-defunct USFL, having been driven out onto the field by Reynolds and his late friend and co-star, Jerry Reed, during opening day one season. It also sold for $49,500. At the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction in 2016, Reynolds accompanied a 1977 Trans Am used to promote "Bandit" onto the auction block. That car sold for $550,000.
