Up for grabs is a retired work truck that ran great for several years, and is showing actual milage. Unfortunately nearly 2 years ago it had developed an oil leak, and some unsuspecting individual decided to drive it around without any oil in it. Since then the engine has been locked up, and the truck has just been sitting on the lot. I had previous intentions of replacing the engine because at the time of the incident the transmission had just been replaced with a brand new jasper transmission 5,000 miles ago. So as the truck sits today it has a locked up engine that does not run, and a new jasper transmission with 5,000 miles on it and a 1 year warranty left on the transmission. The transmission was professionally installed by a local shop, and its a 5-speed manual with overdrive. Some other issues are that the body has rust holes completely through it, and some of the doors don't shut properly including the drivers door. On the positive side the frame is in good condition, the tires have plenty of tread, and as previously stated the transmission still has 1 year of warranty left on it and only 5,000 miles on it. We can also help assist with shipping. This truck is being sold as is, and the air compressor is not included.

GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect
Tue, 17 Aug 20102010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.
Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too
Fri, 07 Dec 2012We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
