 For auction is a 1987 Chevy V30 / K30 1-Ton Dually 4WD regular cab equipped with a 5.7l 350 fuel injected engine and 4-speed manual tranny.Came stock with power steering,power hydroboost brakes,air conditioner,dual tanks,4.56 gears,Dana 60 front,Dana 70 wide rear,NP205 gear drive transfer case,SM265 4-speed transmission,Warn locking hubs.

This is the elusive 1-year only square body regular cab 4x4 EFI true Dually in un-molested condition.Bought from a central Texas farm, cleaned it up,and listed it for sale to the highest bidder. It shows wear from years of work as expected.Dings and scratches all over, but all panels probably savable except tailgate.Rust-through is minimal,as shown in the photos it has small areas in lower cab corners,1 spot in floor beneath drivers left foot, and 1 spot in left rear corner of bed.Rocker panels are rust free.Bed floor has moderate surface rust.Drivers side fuel tank has a leak, although pump operates when switched to that side.A/C is all still intact, compressor turns freely, will need at least charged up.There is a hole in left a-pillar from a previous spotlight. All glass good with no chips.Windows roll up and down.I replaced the dually fiberglass fenders because the original ones were busted beyond repair, and I had a usable set from a previous project,They do have some cracks, but are well repairable.Has aftermarket winch type front bumper(no winch),and still has original stock rear bumper.Spare tire still mounted underneath rear.
I have not road driven the truck,it has not been registered or inspected in a number of years.Starts up and runs, all gears work,4x4 works.Seat has been re-covered in red cloth, its in good shape. The engine has apparently been overhauled at some point,as it is painted chevy blue.Clutch operates as it should, with factory hydraulic clutch pedal.Floor mat has some small tears, but is intact.Brakes seem to operate well also.
This is a rare and desirable truck ready for restoration.I included a photo of my 89 V3500,it was in similar condition when I bought it.

Absolute auction to highest bidder, with the right reserved to end auction early if a local sale comes up.Plan on having transported,at buyers expense. It is not registered or inspected for highway use.Clear open Texas title.$500 deposit due with paypal at auction end, balance due before truck leaves, but not longer than 7 days from auction end.Contact me with any other needs. All Ebay rules in effect, and will be enforced.I'm 40 miles North of Dallas,Tx.,and I'm not a car dealer.I've owned over 40 of the K-30 Chevys, and this is the ONLY 87 in this configuration that I've ever had the chance to buy.If not for the truck I already restored, this one would be kept. All questions answered, and posted to the auction for all to see. Thanks for looking/reading,and GOOD LUCK!

2013 Chevy COPO Camaro announced with two new engines and manual option

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Chevrolet is following up the 2012 COPO Camaro with another limited run of the drag-strip-ready production car for 2013. Ditching the superchargers, the 2013 COPO Camaro can only be equipped with one of three naturally aspirated V8 engines, and other new features include the option of a manual transmission, new front springs, some minor styling changes and a lower starting price of $86,000. All cars are designed to abide by the rules of the NHRA's Stock Eliminator or Super Stock classifications, depending on in which series buyers wish to enter their Chevrolet Camaro.
Returning for 2013 is the 427-cubic-inch V8 producing 425 horsepower, but the new engines include a 325-hp 350-CID V8 and a 375-hp 396-CID V8. Buyers can select to purchase all three engines, and each will be matched with the sequence number of that car; the track-only COPO cars will not have vehicle identification numbers and can't be registered for street use.
Chevrolet is also offering unique enthusiast-specific options such as a COPO Build Book and the opportunity for owners to help assemble their car's engine at the Chevrolet Performance Build Center in Wixom, MI.

Ram 1500 bests new F-150 in MT pickup shootout

Tue, Nov 25 2014

Ford's 2015 Ford F-150 is a technological tour-de-force, what with its aluminum-intensive construction and its powerful and efficient new 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine option. But now that it's hit the market, it's time to get down to brass tacks and find out how just the latest F-150 actually stands up to its rivals in the hyper-competitive fullsize segment. Motor Trend is among the first to round up the Ford (in Lariat 2.7-liter 4X4 guise here) and put it up against the Ram 1500 Outdoorsman EcoDiesel 4x4 and 5.3-liter-equipped Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 to find out how Dearborn's new-think truck measures up. The test put the trio through over 1,000 miles of tough driving in California and Arizona in a variety of conditions from just cruising around unladen to hauling a trailer. MT found all three trucks to be competent, but the most praise got heaped on the Ram and the Ford, with the Chevrolet falling a step behind its competitors in many tests. Among the Ford's most-liked features was its 2.7-liter, twin-turbo V6 that helped make the F-150 easily the quickest of the group, with some editors saying the engine felt about the same whether driving around with cargo in the bed or not. There was some minor turbo lag during acceleration while trailering, but that issue affected the Ram, too. The Ram's powertrain was lauded, as well. The EcoDiesel was torquey around town, and the 1500's combination of an eight-speed automatic and air suspension was judged to be the best of the lot. It was the most difficult to get into the bed, though. The Ram also won the fuel economy award by netting 20-miles-per-gallon city and 28-mpg highway in the test to beat its Environmental Protection Agency ratings of 19/27. The Ford's EcoBoost managed 17/22, one mpg off each from the EPA numbers, and using a lot of throttle really depleted its efficiency. As MT notes, however, it would take time for the diesel's mileage savings to pay off at the pump for these two trucks. In the end, the Ram just barely eked out the win, with the title partially earned because of "the Ford's unknown maintenance and aluminum repair costs," according to MT. Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 concept suggests a diesel off-road future

Thu, Nov 20 2014

"It takes the Colorado to a whole new place." – Mark Reuss The Chevrolet Colorado looks set to gain a more capable off-road version, with the company previewing a potential design direction with a ruggedized concept Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Called the Colorado ZR2, the concept brings back the name used on off-road-tuned S-10 and Blazer models in the 1990s and 2000s. The ZR2 has a track that's four inches wider than the Colorado Z71, which is currently the line's most capable off-roader. The ZR2 is fitted with a new grille, power-dome hood, custom wheel flares and off-road-style fascia that reduces overhang and has flip-out aluminum tow hooks. It's all slathered in an outdoorsy hue dubbed Cyprus Green. The are electronic locking front and rear differentials, skid plates and mono-tube coilover shock absorbers. It all rolls (or crawls) on 275/65R18 off-road tires wrapped around custom 18-inch aluminum wheels. There's also a spare tire assembly mounted in the bed, which has a spray-in liner and 48-inch lift jack should things go afoul on the trail. "It takes the Colorado to a whole new place," Mark Reuss, General Motors executive vice president of global product development, said at the reveal. Power comes from the 2.8-liter Duramax diesel engine making 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. This engine will arrive later in the year in the production Colorado. While the ZR2 remains only a concept, it suggests a new path for the Colorado – one we hope Chevy decides to take. Chevrolet Introduces Colorado ZR2 Concept Aggressively styled, more capable and driven by new 2.8L Duramax diesel engine LOS ANGELES – Chevrolet today introduced the Colorado ZR2 concept – a vision of how Chevrolet could take the all-new midsize truck's off-road capability to the next level. It also showcases the new 2.8L Duramax diesel engine that will arrive in the Colorado lineup later next year. The aggressively styled concept builds on the capabilities of the production Colorado Z71 and advances the legacy of Chevrolet's previous ZR2 production models. "From the bold stance to the trail-ready special equipment, the Colorado ZR2 is all about the fun of driving where the pavement ends – and doing it in characteristic Chevy style," said Tony Johnson, Colorado marketing manager.
