Up for bid at no reserve is a 1972 Chevy k20 pickup 3/4 ton 4x4. This is a clean 1 owner Washington state truck, I am the second owner and it has 93,300 original miles. Its equipped with a fuel injected 350 engine and a 4 speed manual. This truck has had 1 repaint in the original medium blue and looks good overall. There are lots of maintenance records with this truck and show it has been maintained very well . The engine was rebuilt in 1998 during this build the original owner added later model center bolt heads and an Edelbrock pro-flow fuel injection system, all the records for this are included. This was a high dollar system. It runs and drivers very good. Has power steering and power disc brakes and dual exhaust. The body is very straight. This truck has the rare factory cab lights on the roof. There is some rust on the rockers and a bit in the cab corners, and under the battery tray, but this is the first time it has rusted and has never been patched. Everywhere else is rust free including cab mounts, floor boards, the upper cowl, and bed. There is a small spot of paint on the roof that has flaked off but is not rusted through. The bed has a line-x sprayed in bed liner and looks good. The axles are the original disc brake Dana 44 front with the hard to find blue dial Spicer hubs in good condition and the Eaton rear with the gear driven np205 transfer case. The wheels and tires are brand new with less that 100mi. on them. The wheels are Wheel Vintiques 16x8 o.e. style steel that will accept factory hubcaps and the tires are 305/70R16 Toyo Open Country M/T. The wheels are black powder coat now but you could paint them any color you want. The interior is in decent shape, has a later model Toyota seat, and a newer style cd player in it but is original besides that. The dome light and backup up lights still work as they should and still has the spare tire under it. The only thing I can think of that doesn't work is the gas gauge. If you have any questions please call Bob at 319-759-8229 before 7pm central. |

Best and Worst GM Cars
Thu, Apr 7 2022Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded. While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.
Chevrolet Captiva looks mildly refreshed and ready for family duty
Tue, 05 Mar 2013We showed you Chevrolet's major debut yesterday, the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible, but General Motors is making a big push for Bowtie consideration in Europe, so it's also introducing the updated Captiva crossover here at the Geneva Motor Show.
While still based on the same platform as North America's fleet-only Captiva Sport (which is effectively a rebadged Saturn Vue), the Captiva is available in both five- and seven-seat iterations, and it looks far more modern. That's particularly the case with this updated model, which features revamped front- and rear ends that include restyled bumpers, grilles and LED taillamps, among other changes.
As before, the midsize Theta-platform CUV will be available in both front- and all-wheel drive, and is expected to carry a range of four- and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. Important US programming note: Chevrolet sources tell us that America's Captiva Sport will not receive these updates.
