Selling, my brothers 1971 chevy c20 camper special factory big block 396 turbo 400 auto. parts truck ,the truck was boughten from a farmer where it sat in a damp barn for many many years. the farmer says the miles are orignal? just over 5000 on the odemeter? farmer says it was used only on the farm, and one day it was idling and quit? and could never get it to start again. he left it out in the field for some time and it got vandalized, all windows headlites etc. smashed out. truck was towed into a storage barn where it sat for a really long time. the body of the truck is pure junk. this truck was boughten for the rare to find big block change over. the engine has oil in it, it turns over by hand, it still has antifreeze in the block cause for what ever reason the farmer took the radiator out he put the lower hose up on the right inner fender and its still full of antifreeze, i jacked up the rear of the truck high and antifreeze rushed out ,so the engine block is good.a few things are missing under the hood are the air cleaner, power steering pump, and radiator. everthing else big block you need to convert your classic pickup over to the orignal looking big block is there, the complete orignal engine, " TKB" on the front pad, engine even still has the orignal deep grove pulleys on it, big block mounts, turbo 400 transmission, and yes the orignal turbo 400 kick down switch and harness are still on the gas pedal assembly.etc. etc. you d pull your hair out tring to find all the big block change over parts seperately. so heres the whole truck. over haul the engine and tranny put in your pickup and be proud when you open your hood for people to see factory big block.also i have no title to this truck the farmer couldn t find it, so if you want a bill of sale one will be provided. i think i covered the truck so, SO SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY PLEASE ,THE TRUCK WILL SELL TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER AT THE END OF THE AUCTION, PAYMENT OPTIONS ARE, CASH IN PERSON, CASHIERS CHECK ONLY FROM BANK OF AMERICA, to be cashed before truck leaves, ALSO PERSONAL CHECK ONLY IF YOUR BANK IS HERE IN ROCHESTER NY, and will be cashed before truck leaves, OR CASH WIRED TO ME . What we know, and think we know, about the 2016 Chevy Volt
Wed, Aug 13 2014With the next-gen Chevy Volt due to make an appearance at the Detroit Auto Show early next year, bits and pieces about the new car are making their way into the press. Perhaps most importantly, the new Volt is going to have better "fuel economy and efficiency," according to GM executive vice president Mark Reuss. The current Volt gets 98 MPGe and 37 miles per gallon on premium fuel. It also has a 38-mile electric-only range. We don't know how GM will improve the efficiency or to what degree, but the logical options include making the car lighter, giving it better aerodynamics and/or improving the powertrain. To that end, one of the big things we don't know for sure includes information on the new gas-powered engine. Forbes says it will be a downsized 1.0-liter, three-cylinder mill instead of the 1.4-liter, four-cylinder used in the current model, which could certainly help the car be more efficient. The new Volt is also going to have more technology, which shouldn't surprise anyone. GM is now openly talking about how it will change the way it markets the Volt, shifting away from the mass-market mentality to focus on the regions where the car is already popular. "There's a Northeast and West Coast market for Volt, and there's nothing wrong with that," Chevy chief marketing officer Tim Mahoney told Forbes. There are rumors that the new Volt will have seating for five by adding a seat in the back. This is something a lot of current Volt owners would love, but we've heard nothing official hinting that this would be the case. We expect the battery to be the new 17.1-kWh version, or maybe even have a capacity increase, so GM would have to seriously repackage the pack to eliminate the ridge that runs from between the front seats and then back to the rear two seats. If you've heard anything official, do let us know.
24 Hours of Le Mans live update part two
Sun, Jun 19 2016We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice. Parker lives in Hawaii and can hold his breath longer than he can go without swearing. For Part One, click here. Or you can skip ahead to Part Three here. I write about surfing for a living. If you can call it a living. Basically means I spend my days fucking around and my wife pays for everything. Because she's got a real job that pays well. Brings home the bacon. Very progressive arrangement. Super twenty first century. I run a surf website, beachgrit.com, with two other guys. It's a strange gig. More or less uncensored. Kind of popular. Very good at alienating advertisers. My behavior has cost us a few bucks. I'm terrible at self-censorship. Know there's a line out there, no idea where it lies. I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. For contests I do long rambling write ups. They rarely make much sense. Mainly just talk about my life, whatever random thoughts pop into my head. "Can you do something similar for Le Mans?" "Sure, but I know absolutely fuck-all about racing." "That's okay. Just write what you want." "Will do. But you're gonna need to edit my stuff. Probably censor it heavily." So here I am. I spent the last week trying to learn all I can about the sport of endurance racing. But there's only so much you can jam in your head. And I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. While I rambled things were happening. Tracy Krohn spun into the gravel on the Forza chicane. #89 is out of the race after an accident I missed. Pegasus racing hit the wall on the Porsche curves. Bashed up front end, in the garage getting fixed. Toyota and Porsche are swapping back and forth in the front three. Ford back in the lead in GTE Pro. #91 Porsche took a stone through the radiator, down two laps. Not good. The wife and I are one of those weird childless couples that spend way too much time caring for the needs of their pet. French bulldog, Mr Eugene Victor Debs. Great little guy. Spent the last four years training him to be obedient and friendly. Nice thing about dogs, when you're sick of dealing with them you can just lock 'em in another room for a few hours. You don't need to worry about paying for college.
Chevy Corvette Stingray "colorizer" lets you chase the rainbow
Thu, 14 Feb 2013After you've convinced your better half to let you buy a new Corvette, then comes the hard part... actually figuring out which 'Vette you want. While Chevrolet has yet to release the official configurator for the 2014 Corvette Stingray, it did give us something else to kill some time playing around with.
The C7 Corvette "colorizer" recently went online, and it lets you look at the car in all of its available colors and wheel options from four different angles so that when this car does go on sale, you know exactly which one you want. It includes the Corvette's full pallet of colors including Torch Red, Laguna Blue and the hue you see above, Velocity Yellow. Toss in the black wheels, and we're sold. If you have some time this afternoon, be sure to check it out the Corvette colorizer for yourself, and even if you don't have the time, we've put together a gallery with all of the possible color combinations.
