This is NOT an restored truck!

100% ORIGINAL

Up for sale is a 100% Original Documented 68,462 Original Miles 1987 Chevrolet Scottsdale 10 4X4.  This truck was purchased new in Baker City, Oregon.  It has remained all it's life in the High Mountain Desert.  It has always been garaged and very seldom driven.  It was traded to a local car collector and added to his collection a few years back.  Since then, the second owner passed away and I purchased it from his son.  There is ABSOLUTELY NO RUST!!!!  This truck is as solid and rust free as any new truck.  It is 100% bondo free and retains all of the original body panels and paint.  The paint is in Very Good Condition.  Only very minor typical road wear for 68,000 miles.  The bed is in excellent condition.  There are a few scratches in it but overall it is very nice and straight.  All the interior is near perfect.  The only blemish is on the dash panel between the Speedo and Fuel Gauges.  The seat, floor, dash pad, door panels, door handles, paint, behind the seat, glove-box, pedal pads, and all weatherstripping is 100% Original and in perfect condition.  Perfect Glass. Chrome, Stainless, Emblems, and Plastic Trim is in excellent condition.  THIS TRUCK NEEDS NOTHING.  The only thing I did to the undercarriage is spray it down with a pressure washer.  As you can see some of the old paint came off when I did that.  I did not want to paint anything as I wanted to prove the overall originality.  As you can see in the pictures, this truck maintains 6 of the original factory markings.  Where will you ever find another one of these with all the correct inspection markings??  The engine bay has never been detailed, nor has anything ever been apart.  Everything is there, including the jack and tool of which have never been used.  No leaks of any type and EVERYTHING works as new.  The 350 Ci.D. Fuel - Injected Engine does NOT smoke.  Tranny shifts perfectly.  A/C blows ice cold immediately.  No squeaks or rattles.  No air leaks.  Drives as good as a new truck.  It is like driving a new truck!  If you are looking for a truck that other trucks can use as an example, than this is the one!  Top to bottom and side to side.  The only modifications or improvements that have been made are HID Headlights installed (with correct wiring harness and relays), fire extinguisher added, electrical wiring ran for camper shell light, chrome bed caps, and rubber bed mat.  I have the original Warrantee Booklet, Owner's Manual, and Maintenance Schedule. Based on the originality, I am confident that if you took the seat apart, you would find a build sheet.  This is a VERY unique truck and deserves to be treated as it has all its life.  This truck would be perfect for show, a collection, or a dealer center piece.  Please bid with confidence in knowing that this is probably the one of the nicest original 1987 Chevys on the planet.  I have many more pictures available upon request.  Please call, text, or email with any questions or offers.  Thanks for looking!  Todd (208) 989-3970

GM cutting production at two plants

Thu, Feb 26 2015

General Motors is continuing to adjust to excess supply of some of its brands' models. To get production more in line with the vehicles' actual demand, the automotive giant is idling two of its factories in North America in the coming months. The Orion Assembly plant is going to be down from March 9-13, according to an anonymous plant worker and another insider speaking to Automotive News. The factory builds the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano, but there are plenty of both models sitting on dealer lots, including 216 days worth of Sonics, according to AN. The factory already had two idle periods announced to reduce the excess. In addition, downtime is scheduled at GM's "Flex" line at the Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, plant from April 13-17. This affects supply of the Chevrolet Camaro, Impala, Buick Regal and Cadillac XTS. Among them, the automotive giant has the largest supply of Regals ready for dealers with 213 days worth of them, according to AN. The future for the whole Oshawa factory is cloudy in general, though. There are rumors that it could close entirely in the future because the Camaro is leaving and the Regal and XTS might not last much longer than 2017. The Canadian government and the labor union there intend to put up a fight, though. Chevy up to old EVs-equal-range-anxiety tricks in new Volt Olympics ad

Fri, Feb 14 2014

General Motors is at it again with a new Chevrolet Volt TV commercial. Viewers of the Winter Olymics (at least in some markets) recently saw a TV ad in between the skating and the skiing that made no mention of the environmental benefits or freedom from the power of Big Oil that electric vehicles provide. No, this one was based on pure survival instinct. In the video, a father is driving down a highway, perhaps through the Mojave Desert. His young son is sitting in the Volt's backseat and asks what happens when the EV's battery runs out. "We'll have to cross that burning desert with snakes and cactus until we make it back to civilization," the dad tells his son as they pass the skeleton of a fallen bull. The fine print makes it clear that the actual maximum range is 342 miles. But there is hope. The father tells his son, with a beaming smile on his face, that the gas generator has kicked in and they're going to make it through the desert. As they wend their way to the horizon, a voice over says that Volt drivers who charge up regularly are making it 900 miles between fill ups. The fine print makes it clear that the actual official maximum range before you need to either plug in or fill up is 342 miles. This theme that emphasized range anxiety has been utilized by GM since the extended range Volt was launched in late 2010, despite the fact that Chevrolet now offers an all-electric vehicle in the Spark EV. Volt fans are praising the commercial, called The New Freedom, on the GM-Volt forum and you can see for yourself below. This content is hosted by a third party. Camaro driver clocked at 171 miles per hour

Wed, Apr 13 2016

Chevy's 2016 Camaro SS is a fantastic piece of automotive engineering. It is also, apparently, very, very fast. This latter fact was perfectly illustrated when, on April 8, a Camaro SS driver was nailed in Two Harbors, Minnesota for doing 171 mph. According to WFAA, the unnamed speed demon was flying down Highway 61 near Two Harbors when Hermantown, MN Deputy Police Chief Shawn Padden clocked him at an eye-watering 171 mph. He then recorded the speeder at 168 and 141. At the time, Deputy Chief Padden was working with Minnesota State Patrol on an anti-DWI program called "Toward Zero Deaths". Padden, who was interviewed by the Duluth News Tribune, said he was surprised at the driver's sheer speed. "When he went by me, it was a blur," Padden told the News. "You get used to seeing people going 65 or 70 and what that looks like. But I've never seen anything like this. It's like a rocket on wheels." Fadden chased the Camaro down eventually, but it took some doing. To catch the Camaro, he pushed his Dodge Charger Pursuit to 135 mph just to get into range so the Camaro could see his emergency lights. The speeding driver was ticketed for careless driving, but may lose his license due to a Minnesota law that gives courts the option of revoking licenses for drivers caught doing more than 100 mph.
