Not your average Chevy 454 SS... This limited production truck was turned into a show truck very early in its life. I have owned it since 2002. Engine is the original numbers matching 454 with a Turbo 400 automatic (also original) turning a 3:73 posi rear axle, need I say also original...
It has ALWAYS been kept in my shop & only out for Car Shows & Cruise Nights.
I purchased it with 34719 miles & it now has just over 36,000! That's less than 1500 miles in 12 years. It is in fabulous condition both in appearance & mechanically. It needs NOTHING but a new, loving home...
Some of it's special equipment is the following:
- Custom, Mirror Finish, Black Cherry Pearl paint (truck was taken apart, NOT just masked off)
- Gloss black painted frame & suspension components
- Rear frame section boxed & traction bars welded to the rear axle
- Bell Tech 2" drop front spindles, 4" drop coil springs & shocks. Bell Tech 4" drop rear hangers & shocks in the rear.
- Custom front bumper (steel) with integrated driving lights & rear roll pan
- Complete carpeted bed kit & Stockland fiberglass bed cover
- Fiberglass cowl induction hood
- Custom center seat / console with hidden storage
- Harland Sharp 1:7 ratio roller rockers
- Edelbrock Stainless Steel Headers, Jet Hot coated
- Holley 900 CFM Pro-Jection fuel injection unit
- Autometer 5" memory tach
- Brand New - Flowmaster 40 series Stainless Steel muffler & dual "Shotgun" style exhaust tips
- Brand New - American Racing wheels (put on last month) 17 x 8" in front & 20 x 10" in the rear
- Brand New - General Tires, 235/55-17 in front & 295/45-20 in back
I've left out some of the smaller details but LOOK at the pictures! The truck is a real head turner. Gets loads of attention whenever we take it out. It runs & sounds amazing. I would like to keep it but only have so much storage space & we can always used the extra money.
If you want an incredible looking, incredible driving & incredible sounding truck. LOOK NO FURTHER!

Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction
Sun, 17 Feb 2013It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.
Personal testimonies show real-world effect of plugging in with Chevy Volt
Mon, Jan 13 2014At this point, there are tens of thousands of individual stories about what it's like to live with a Chevrolet Volt. But it also remains informative to take a look at one of these in depth. For example, one Atlanta-area Volt owner says he's cut his cents-per-mile ownership costs by almost 40 percent compared to his previous car primarily because of his ability to drive almost all the time on electric power. Jeffrey Cohen told Clean Technica that he put about 14,000 miles on his Volt extended-range plug-in hybrid for the year that ended October 2013, and that more than 92 percent of those were on electrons. He estimates his "lifetime" miles per gallon rating at a whopping 384 mpg, a figure pushed upward by the fact that he installed a Level 2 charger at home while his employer added an external 110-volt charger at work. Cohen is spending 45 cents a mile for his car, compared to 73 cents in his Infiniti M35. As a result, he's spending 45 cents a mile for his car, compared to 73 cents a mile with his prior vehicle, an Infiniti M35. About two-thirds of those Volt costs are for the $349-a-month lease payments, while 15 percent is insurance, 11 percent is for the charger and seven percent for the gas and electricity that actually powers the car. Helping lower that last figure is an overnight electricity rate that's about 10 percent of Cohen's daytime rate. Chevy parent General Motors hopes such testimonies will re-trigger sales for the Volt in 2014. Last year, GM sold 23,094 Volts, down 1.6 percent from 2012. We expect our readers have similar stories they'd like to share in the Comments. Car Club USA: Louisiana Mudfest
Tue, Jun 16 2015There's nothing quite like mudding. Big tires, huge power, and crazy-wild gearheads that like to throw down on a mud pit almost as much as a thirty rack of Coors. In the latest, and some might argue greatest yet episode of Car Club USA, we head to Louisiana to throw some dirt at Mudfest. As Louisiana's one and only Mouth of the South puts it, "If you don't mud ride... go to Texas I guess." Joining The Mouth and friendly rivals The Most Hated Mud Sluts, we dive in. Beyond the obvious V8 blasting and tractor-tire spinning, those who know best describe Mudfest as, "Good cooking, good friends, good fun, and a lot of partying." It's a motorsport spectacle unlike any you're likely to find up North or out West, though no less impressive to behold. Follow along with the fun, the impromptu drag racing, the trash talking, and the mechanical madness. And find out why, at Mudfest, "if we don't tear it up, we ain't done it right." Each Car Club USA episode features a different car club or event from across the US, where passionate owner communities gather to share automotive experiences and embark on incredible adventures.
