1989 Chevy K1500 Lifted Truck! Blown Motor/no Trans! 9 Inch Lift Total! on 2040-cars
Marietta, Georgia, United States
Hello everyone! This auction is for my old used truck. This truck is a 1989 Chevy K1500 4x4 Regular cab truck. It has a 5.7l v8 in it. Problems with the truck: - Motor is knocking. Never diagnosed it, may need to be rebuilt or replaced. Or it could be something easier, I make no guarantees on this auction. - Transmission is in the truck, but not functional. It also needs to be rebuilt or replaced. - Paint is peeling. - Last place I obviously had it was the mud bog. I just got done fixing it up, took it there, and everything started breaking sadly. - No seat included. - Odometer does not work - Rear sliding glass has no latch. Latch can be found on several websites for pretty cheap. - No headliner - Some dents in the truck from having it in the mud. Pros: - Truck is 4x4. 4x4 never gave me any problems, and when the truck ran 4x4 worked perfectly. - Had all new speakers all the way around. They play very loud. - Has an amp and subwoofer. - Bed has been bedlined - Truck has 6 inch pro comp suspension lift. I will include the roll around rims and tires. No other rims and tires will be included. I had 40" super swamper on the truck before, but they have been sold. - Truck has 3 inch body lift. - Geared to 4.56. - Has a hitch - LED tail lights - Upgraded hood (paint also peeling) - Engine and transmission will come with the truck. You will however have to diagnose what is wrong. - Radiator is somewhat new, it was replaced only a few months before I blew the motor. - Essentially everything comes with the truck, nothing is missing other than the seat. This truck is the perfect project truck. Can be used as a toy for bogs, or trail riding, or you can take it back on the street. I drove it both on the road and off. The motor and transmission issues need to be diagnosed, but someone who knows what they are doing won't have any problems with this truck. Simply buy a used or new transmission and motor and it will run like a champ! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I will not be shipping this, only local pickup. I can't deliver it as I have no trailer. Payment: Cash in person on pickup. CASH ONLY! Shipping: LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. |

Chevy's 6.6-liter Duramax is pretty much all new
Thu, Sep 29 2016To say there's a heated battle in heavy-duty pickups is an understatement, with Chevrolet, Ford, and Ram constantly trading blows of increased torque, horsepower, and towing capacity. The latest salvo is the revised, more powerful turbo diesel 6.6-liter Duramax V8 in the 2017 Chevy Silverado. It has 910 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 145, putting it nearly level with the Ford Super Duty. Here's a closer look at where those gains come from. How exactly did Chevrolet add all that torque plus 48 horsepower? The automaker essentially took a fine-tooth comb to the entire engine. Chevy says it changed 90 percent of the V8, and the cumulative effect of those small changes adds up to big increases. As you might guess, the turbocharger is updated. The larger unit features electric actuation of the variable nozzle turbine (VNT), and what Chevy calls a double axle cartridge mechanism that separates the VNT moving parts from the housing. That helps with heat performance as well, with a claim that the exhaust side of the turbo can run continuously up to 1,436 degrees Fahrenheit. Helping that cause are six exhaust gaskets made of Inconel - an nickel alloy that contains chromium and iron – and upgraded stainless steel for the exhaust manifold. Despite having the same cast iron cylinder block, albeit with some minor enhancements, the engine has new cylinder heads, pistons, piston pins, connecting rods, and crankshaft, which have all been upgraded to handle 20 percent higher cylinder pressures. Alongside the increase in pressure, Chevrolet also increased the cylinder head's structure with a honeycomb design. The pattern features high-strength aluminum with dual layer water jackets that not only improve strength, but also optimize water flow for better cooling. For 2017, the cylinder head also benefits from integrated plenum that aids the engine in getting more air under heavy loads. The cylinder head isn't the only component to get a minor update, as the pistons have a larger diameter pin for improved oil flow. The same detailed improvements has been bestowed to the humble connecting rods (second in our hearts only to the inanimate carbon rod). The new design has the bolts oriented roughly 45-degrees to the rod instead of parallel. The angle split design, as it's called allows for easier passage through the cylinder.
Chevy shows much-improved 2014 Corvette interior in new video
Mon, 11 Feb 2013If you want a closer look at what went into designing and building the interior for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, we've got just the thing. General Motors has released a new video detailing the cabin's evolution from conception to execution, complete with commentary from Ryan Vaughn, performance car interior design manager with Chevrolet. The quick clip details how manufacturing, engineering and design within General Motors worked together from the first sketches to ensure no compromises had to be made later down the line. How novel.
With plenty of hides traced with contrast stitching and available real carbon fiber trim, the cabin looks to be a few hundred miles ahead of the C6. Given how readily critics derided the previous generation for its cabin, the C7 should make writers work a little harder to find something to complain about. Check out the video below for yourself.
It won't be long now before Nissan Leaf finally overtakes Chevy Volt
Thu, Dec 25 2014The two best-selling plug-in vehicles ever are the Chevy Volt and the Nissan Leaf. When the two vehicles launched in late 2010, the plug-in hybrid Volt quickly outpaced the all-electric Leaf and, despite lots of ups and downs since then, continues to hold on to a cumulative sales lead. This will change in 2015. Cumulatively, from November 2010 through November 2014, the Volt sold 71,867 units while the Leaf trails with 69,220. That's a difference of just 2,647. Based on current trends (with the Leaf selling around 2,500-2,700 a month and the Volt at 1,500-1,700) we expect the Leaf to take over either in January or, more likely, February when the Leaf takes over as the most popular plug-in car in America. Perhaps even March, depending on how low the numbers are for January and February, which are always slow sales months in the US. Of course, once it takes the crown, the Leaf can't expect to easily hold on for long. A new Volt is coming in the second half of 2015, likely beating a new Leaf to market. The question is, then, how well the Chevy sells with all of its new bells and whistles. Do you think the Volt will be the comeback kid once the 2016 model becomes available?
