I hate to see this truck go, but I just bought an '08 and don't have room for it in my shed.  This truck was a locally purchased truck new and has been in the same family since then.  Last year it was sold outside the family to a friend of the family and he took it to Colorado last summer to pick up a camper.  It comes with a very nice camper fifth wheel hitch that bolts in the box.  I bought it from him to get me by until I got my new truck.  I fell in love with it and am not crazy about selling it, but I don't want to see it just sitting outside.  This would make a great Harley hauler.  It has the old school look.  It even has a few Harley stickers on it now...  They look good.  All things aside, this truck turns heads.  It isn't because of the shiny paint...(its not too shiny anymore) It's because it is a classic Chevy truck that doesn't have a small block gas engine.  It has that awesome diesel sound, with nice dual exhaust, and the classic two tone paint job that so many Americans are familiar with.  This truck is not a rust bucket...yes it does have rust, but nothing that can't be fixed.  It would make a great restoration project.  It comes with two complete rust free doors!  The engine was upgraded from the 6.2 to a crate 6.5 about 60,000 miles ago!  This was a major expense as you can imagine.  I also have the paperwork for the newly rebuilt 700R4 overdrive auto tranny.  The truck has a good radio, power windows that work like new, power locks, steering, brakes, etc.  It also has a tilt column!  Cruise all hooked up but I think has a vacuum leak.  The air conditioning works great and blows cold!  (good luck finding a truck like this for this price, that has working air!).  I have lots of receipts for recent brakes etc.  The box floor is perfect.  It is galvenized and is NOT beat up at all.  The front box panel is great, and the tailgate is like new other than paint.  The frame is very strong.  The truck rides down the road like a Cadillac....REALLY!  I've owned many Caddy's and this truck rides and handles awesome!  The engine and tranny obviously work flawlessly.  I can't say enough about how reliable this thing is.  I am selling it with two brand new studded snow Blizzek's!  It also comes with 4 excellent Goodyears.  I took a close up of the tread.  You will be amazed with this truck as soon as you start it up with a flip of the switch and cruise down the road.  Please call me if you have any questions.  319-231-8974,  Thanks so much for listening to me ramble.  Please call.  This truck will NOT disappoint you.  Justin

Ebay's 'title check' system is misleading.  If you click on 'title history' you will see that the only title issue is that the odometer was checked "not original" when transferred from the original family to the gentleman that bought it last summer to get his camper.  I bought it from him.  The vehicle has been from Waverly Ia (nearby town to Clarksville and Janesville) it's whole life.  Please take a look at 'Why" this scored low on the title check.  I have a clear title in hand.  Thanks.  Justin

GM recalling 316k vehicles due to headlamp faults

Mon, Dec 1 2014

General Motors has announced a recall covering 316,357 vehicles globally, due to the possibility of sporadic or permanent failure of the low-beam headlamps. 273,182 of these vehicles are in the United States, while the remaining affected units are in Canada, Mexico, and elsewhere. This recall includes the 2006-09 Buick LaCrosse (pictured above), 2006-07 Chevy TrailBlazer and TrailBlazer EXT, 2006-07 GMC Envoy and 2006 GMC Envoy XL, 2006-07 Buick Rainier, 2006-08 Saab 9-7X, and 2006-08 Isuzu Ascender. In an email sent to Autoblog, General Motors explains that if the headlamp driver modules are not functioning correctly, "the low-beam headlamps and daytime running lamps could intermittently or permanently fail to illuminate." GM states that this problem does not affect things like high-beams, turn signals, marker lamps, or foglamps. As of this writing, GM states it "has not been able to confirm whether the HDMs in these vehicles caused any vehicle accidents." The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been notified, but the recall has not yet posted to the government agency's website. Scroll down to read the full details in GM's email. General Motors is recalling 273,182 Buick LaCrosse sedans and Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Saab and Isuzu midsize SUVs in the U.S. for possible intermittent or permanent loss of low beam headlamps. Affected models are: 2006-2009 Buick LaCrosse sedans; 2006-2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer and 2006 TrailBlazer EXT; 2006-2007 GMC Envoy and 2006 Envoy XL; 2006-2007 Buick Rainier; 2006-2008 Saab 9-7X and 2006-2008 Isuzu Ascender midsize SUVs. If the headlamp driver modules is not operating correctly, the low-beam headlamps and daytime running lamps could intermittently or permanently fail to illuminate. This condition does not affect the high-beam headlamps, marker lamps, turn signals, or fog lamps. GM has not been able to confirm whether the HDMs in these vehicles caused any vehicle accidents. The total population, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico and exports from North America is 316,357. The NHTSA was sent the Part 573 information for this recall on November 25. It has not yet posted to the NHTSA website. Just the right Camaro can change your life

Thu, Jan 22 2015

Not many people can say that their car directly motivated them into a career, but that's exactly the case for Adam Martin and his 1968 Chevrolet Camaro that he calls Lucy. Martin bought the pony car in primer when he was just 16, and it helped foster his profession in restoring classic cars. Beyond just being a very cool ride for a teenager, every change to Lucy was an opportunity to hone a new automotive skill for Martin. Whether figuring out how to paint a car or building the 454-cubic-inch (7.4-liter) big block V8, the Camaro offered a platform for experimentation. This latest episode of Petrolicious gets personal about the bond between man and machine for this 18-year ongoing project. And even if the story doesn't immediately grab you, Lucy has a great voice and can do a mean burnout.
