1971 Chevrolet C10 Cheyanne Pick Up

You are viewing a super nice 71 Cheyanne half ton pick up that is a very nice original truck.  Never abused or used as a work truck is in very good condition.  New paint and in good running order with 121,963 original miles.  Runs and drive excellent.

Please read on for more particulars of the car:

Body/Paint:  The body is all original steel with no rust with exception of both rockers replaced.  The body was stripped and the bed was removed from the frame and bead blasted.  The bed and tail gate are original and in excellent condition with only a couple small dents.  The truck was painted with trim and glass removed.  The bed was painted by itself off the frame.  Base/clear and original color combo of the truck.  The paint was wet sanded flat and buffed and polished and looks like new.  All this was done recently.  Really looks nice.  The second gas tank was bad and was not installed back so there is one gas tank now.  The body was not altered except the hood insignia was removed.  The body gaps are spot on.

Interior:  Stock unrestored with seat cover and carpet replaced.  The seat cover was replaced in the past with some signs of wear, but very presentable.  No tach, radio works, but is not hooked up.  Oil, temp and battery gauges works.  Dash pad, headliner, door panels and interior paint in very good condition.

Running Gear:  Original 350 rebuilt stock with the exception of Eldebrock aluminum intake and carb along with valve covers and air cleaner.  Power steering.  The transmission is a rebuilt TH400 and works as it should.  The rear end is stock.

Suspension/Fame:  The frame is in excellent condition and painted.  The suspension is stock other than it has been lowered by reducing the front coils and taking a leaf out of the rear springs.

Bright work:  Original unrestored in very good condition both chrome and stainless.  Only one piece of stainless is after marker on the driver’s side bed.

Glass:  Original glass was reinstalled with new seals and weather stripping.  The windshield has one small ding that is very light.  The glass is in overall very good condition with rear factory slider.

Exhaust:  Headers with aftermarket mufflers in very good condition.

Brakes:  Stock front power disc with drum rears in good working order.

Wheels/Tires:  BFG’s with lots of rubber on later model 15 inch silver rims with rings and spinners.  275/60 R15 tires all the way around.  Nice look and stance.

Summary:  If you are seeking a nice original truck with new professional paint this truck is worthy of your consideration.  Great driver that needs nothing.  I have over 100 pictures of the truck so please contact me and provide your email address if you would like additional pictures.  Great value and quality build for the money.  Don’t let this truck slip away.

Texas cops pull armed suspect from burning car

Fri, Jul 29 2016

A high-speed chase through Fort Worth, Texas ended in dramatic fashion earlier this month when FWPD pulled armed burglary suspects from the burning wreckage of their escape vehicle. According to NBC DFW, Fort Worth police were dispatched to Avington Way on the evening of July 16 to investigate reports of a burglary. The burglary victim told police he had arrived home to find three individuals hauling his property out of his house. When he approached them, one of the suspects pointed a handgun at him and told him to stay back. Then all three suspects climbed into a silver Dodge Avenger and sped away. FWPD officers spotted the Avenger a short time later on Sycamore School Road and, after the car refused to pull over, the chase was on. Police chased the burglary suspects through the city at speeds approaching 100 mph until the Avenger blew a red light and was t-boned by an oncoming pickup at the intersection of California Parkway and James Avenue. As the pursuing officers closed in on the disabled car, it suddenly caught fire. One suspect bailed out and ran for it, but the remaining two were trapped inside with the flames quickly mounting. Despite the spreading fire and the threat of armed suspects in the vehicle, police officers rushed to pull the men from the wreck. The driver was removed easily, but the passenger was unconscious and trapped behind a crushed passenger door. The scene was caught on the officers' body cameras as they pried the door open with their bare hands. Eventually the officers got the semi-conscious man out of the passenger seat just as the car was completely engulfed in flames. "It was pretty dramatic. We recruit people that can think on the fly, think quickly, and perform under pressure," FWPD Sergeant Marc Povero told WFAA. All three suspects are facing charges for burglary, and the driver was charged with evading arrest. Bring back the Bronco! Trademarks we hope are actually (someday) future car names

Tue, Mar 17 2015

Trademark filings are the tea leaves of the auto industry. Read them carefully – and interpret them correctly – and you might be previewing an automaker's future product plans. Yes, they're routinely filed to maintain the rights to an iconic name. And sometimes they're only for toys and clothing. But not always. Sometimes, the truth is right in front of us. The trademark is required because a company actually wants to use the name on a new car. With that in mind, here's a list of intriguing trademark filings we want to see go from paperwork to production reality. Trademark: Bronco Company: Ford Previous Use: The Bronco was a long-running SUV that lived from 1966-1996. It's one of America's original SUVs and was responsible for the increased popularity of the segment. Still, it's best known as O.J. Simpson's would-be getaway car. We think: The Bronco was an icon. Everyone seems to want a Wrangler-fighter – Ford used to have a good one. Enough time has passed that the O.J. police chase isn't the immediate image conjured by the Bronco anymore. Even if we're doing a wish list in no particular order, the Bronco still finds its way to the top. For now (unfortunately), it's just federal paperwork. Rumors on this one can get especially heated. The official word from a Ford spokesman is: "Companies renew trademark filings to maintain ownership and control of the mark, even if it is not currently used. Ford values the iconic Bronco name and history." Trademarks: Aviator, AV8R Company: Ford Previous Use: The Aviator was one of the shortest-run Lincolns ever, lasting for the 2003-2005 model years. It never found the sales success of the Ford Explorer, with which it shared a platform. We Think: The Aviator name no longer fits with Lincoln's naming nomenclature. Too bad, it's better than any other name Lincoln currently uses, save for its former big brother, the Navigator. Perhaps we're barking up the wrong tree, though. Ford has made several customized, aviation themed-Mustangs in the past, including one called the Mustang AV8R in 2008, which had cues from the US Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It sold for $500,000 at auction, and the glass roof – which is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit – helped Ford popularize the feature. Trademark: EcoBeast Company: Ford Previous Use: None by major carmakers.

Final C6 Corvette built in Bowling Green

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

With all of the attention given to the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray lately, you could be forgiven for thinking that it's already well along in production, yet tooling up for the new C7 has only just begun. In fact, production of the outgoing C6 generation in Bowling Green, Kentucky just halted on Thursday.
As the C6 has aged, production numbers have predictably ebbed along with demand, but this year, the addition of the 427 and 60th anniversary models resulted in an uptick in vehicles built - this, despite a model year shortened by around 25 percent to accomodate the new model changeover. The final C6 Corvette ever, No. 13,466 built this year, was a white 427 Convertible destined for the General Motors Heritage Center museum. The car's 7.0-liter V8 heart was assembled by Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter himself.
In total, Bowling Green pushed out 215,100 C6 Corvettes over nine years. If you're still a C6 fan at heart and are hoping to get a good deal on a phase-out model, step lively - Chevrolet reportedly had about 6,100 unsold units, which Autoweek suggests is good for around five and a half months of supply at the model's current sales rates. Given that demand will likely slacken even further as the C7 draws closer, that should be a big enough stockpile to keep dealers satisfied until 2014 Stingrays begin showing up on their forecourts in December.
