This incredible Pro-Street Custom was completed about 7 months ago and has been driven only 330 miles since its complete, professional frame off restoration and Pro-Street build.

The Truck is professional painted with a METALLIC 2 stage base coat/clear coat system and is as slick as you will find with no trash or orange peel in the paint. The Exterior color is Nissan Mocha and is simply gorgeous. The interior was professional designed and fabricated exclusively for this truck. It is a beige or sand color and combines design with fabric, carpet and leather for a very unique and beautiful interior.

The floor pans and body parts are free of rust and are laser straight with all seams and body lines aligning extremely well. The underside of the truck has been completely restored as well, it is detailed and looks great.

This cool Pro-street 66 has a professionally built 454 with a polished aluminum hi-rise intake, polished billet valve covers, 750 dual line Holley Carb, ceramic coated Hooker long tube headers, HEI distributer, polished billet wire looms, polished billet belt and pulley system, thermostat controlled electric cooling fan system and lots of other chrome under the hood. The engine is producing well over 400 hp but runs on pump gas, it has a Turbo automatic transmission with a mild stall and shift kit and the rear end is a 12 bolt (posi-taction ) heavy duty 3:36. Additionally, the truck has twin exhaust with large tube head and tail pipes and a set of awesome sounding mufflers that flow well.

This Pro-street truck has been lowered 4" in the front with drop spindles and 3" in the rear with spacer blocks. It has new coil springs and shocks both front and rear, plus Hoskins links and front end parts. Even though the truck has been lowered, the ride is very smooth and comfortable. The drive is much improved with power steering with power disc front and new rear drum brakes.

The truck is riding on a set of VENEZIA CRUSADE HP tires and a set of COYS 5 SPOKE polished billet wheels with a set of 245/45 ZR18 100W XL on the front and a set of 245/45 ZR 20 103W Xl on the rear

The rear bed tailgate has been customized to hinge from the side and open left to right instead of top to bottom. The tailgate has also been smoothed and a set of lovers fabricated into the rear panel. The floor of the bed is real solid oak wood that has been stained and brought to a high finish with spar urethane covering both top, bottom and all edges finished and sealed to avoid water from wicking into the natural wood. Finally the separating strips and bolts are all polished stainless steel.

The interior cab has had sound deadening materials added to the roof and floors, the custom loop pile carpet is new and is of the same high quality and original style as what is available in luxury car of today.

There are two bucket seats with console, head rest and seat belts, the seats have been fabricated to cup or surround your body for a comfortable ride that will not sling you around in the seat while letting the truck perform. (AKA burning rubber and drifting)

The truck has Vintage heat and air, AM/FM CD stereo, billet U-did -it tilt steering column, leather wrapped billet banjo steering wheel, complete set of Dolphin analog gauges, padded dash and beautifully designed headliner and door panels.

GM learning from current Chevy Volt owners as it works on next-gen model

Tue, Sep 16 2014

Details of the second-generation Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in hybrid are coming in at a trickle, and the latest is that the 2016 model-year Volt will be improved in all meaningful areas, including performance and all-electric range, says General Motors powertrain director Larry Nitz. 60 percent of Volt customers only charge using a standard 110 outlet. Nitz was speaking to Autoline After Hours about the current and future Volt. He said that GM has been tracking Volt driving habits and found that about two-thirds of the Volts' collective miles are driven in electric mode, and that 81 percent of all Volt trips were done in pure EV mode. Additionally, Volt drivers plug the car in 10 times each week, on average. Nitz also said 82 percent of the Volt's commuting miles are coming from the plug instead of the gas tank. Oh, and 60 percent of Volt customers only charge using a standard 110 outlet. Last month, GM released a teaser shot of the 2016 Volt (above) and said the car would make its worldwide debut at the 2015 North American International Auto Show next January. Earlier this year, the Volt was reported to be getting a new chassis for the upcoming version. The Volt could use a bit of new life. Through August, Volt sales were down 12 percent from a year earlier to 13,146 units, and sales plunged 25 percent alone. That compares unfavorably to the Nissan Leaf battery-electric vehicle, whose 2014 sales have jumped 34 percent to almost 19,000 units. You can see Nitz dish the goods in the video below (Volt comments start at around minute 15). You will also notice AutoblogGreen contributor Gary Witzenburg talk about his history with the EV1 and share his take on the Volt. This content is hosted by a third party. Nissan Leaf sales double Chevy Volt to close out winning 2014

Mon, Jan 5 2015

To close out the year, sales of the two most-popular plug-in vehicles in the US kept going in the direction that they had been all year. The Chevy Volt dropped and the Nissan Leaf had another record month. Sound familiar? The Volt sold 1,490 units in December, a year-to-year drop of 37.7 percent. For all of 2014, Volt sales were down 18.6 percent to just 18,805 (from 23,094 in 2013). On the Nissan side of the ledger, the Leaf sold 3,102 units, up 22.7 percent from the 2,529 sold in December 2013. For the year, Nissan sold 30,200 Leafs, up 33.6 percent from the 22,610 sold in 2013. A few other things to note: For every month in 2014, the Leaf sold more than it did for the same month in 2013. For the Volt, this was only true for three months (April, May and July). Funnily enough, the Volt sold exactly 1,478 units in both March 2013 and 2014. The Volt's 2014 total was lower than both 2013 and 2012, while the Leaf had its best year ever. There were three months in 2014 when people bought at least twice as many Leafs than bought a Volt (September, November, December). The Leaf outsold the Volt every month in 2014. The closest gap was 215 units, in February. The biggest was 1,612, in December. As you've most likely seen, GM is still busy teasing the new Volt, which will make its official debut at the Detroit Auto Show next week. We'll have a more in-depth green car sales post up soon. <iframe embedded="true" "="" scrolling="no" src="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oIuH75vaSHaaplD4x6gLsYjSsiN4oGmez1T63eaYdhY/pubhtml?widget=true&headers=false" height="430"> Nissan celebrates 30,000 leaf sales in 2014, best year ever for sales of any plug-in vehicle NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 5, 2015) – Nissan, the world leader in electric vehicle sales, shattered yet another sales record with 30,200 LEAF vehicles sold in 2014, which is the first time any plug-in has sold more than 30,000 units in a single year. "Now in its fifth model year, Nissan LEAF is more popular than ever and continues to bring new buyers to Nissan," said Brendan Jones, director, Nissan Electric Vehicle Sales and Infrastructure. "From the beginning our vision was to bring electric vehicles to the mass market in a practical and fun-to-drive package, which is what makes Nissan LEAF the best-selling electric car in the world." Last month, Nissan sold 3,102 all-electric LEAFs, up 22.7 percent from the prior year and a December record.

5 reasons why GM is cutting jobs, closing plants in a healthy economy

Tue, Nov 27 2018

DETROIT — Even though unemployment is low, the economy is growing and U.S. auto sales are near historic highs, General Motors is cutting thousands of jobs in a major restructuring aimed at generating cash to spend on innovation. It's the new reality for automakers that are faced with the present cost of designing gas-powered cars and trucks that appeal to buyers now while at the same time preparing for a future world of electric and autonomous vehicles. GM announced Monday that it will cut as many as 14,000 workers in North America and put five plants up for possible closure as it abandons many of its car models and restructures to focus more on autonomous and electric vehicles. The reductions could amount to as much as 8 percent of GM's global workforce of 180,000 employees. The cuts mark GM's first major downsizing since shedding thousands of jobs in the Great Recession. The company also said it will stop operating two additional factories outside North America by the end of next year. The move to make GM get leaner before the next downturn likely will be followed by Ford Motor Co., which also has struggled to keep one foot in the present and another in an ambiguous future of new mobility. Ford has been slower to react, but says it will lay off an unspecified number of white-collar workers as it exits much of the car market in favor of trucks and SUVs, some of them powered by batteries. Here's a rundown of the reasons behind the cuts: Coding, not combustion CEO Mary Barra said as cars and trucks become more complex, GM will need more computer coders but fewer engineers who work on internal combustion engines. "The vehicle has become much more software-oriented" with millions of lines of code, she said. "We still need many technical resources in the company." Shedding sedans The restructuring also reflects changing North American auto markets as manufacturers continue to shift away from cars toward SUVs and trucks. In October, almost 65 percent of new vehicles sold in the U.S. were trucks or SUVs. That figure was about 50 percent cars just five years ago. GM is shedding cars largely because it doesn't make money on them, Citi analyst Itay Michaeli wrote in a note to investors. "We estimate sedans operate at a significant loss, hence the need for classic restructuring," he wrote. The reduction includes about 8,000 white-collar employees, or 15 percent of GM's North American white-collar workforce. Some will take buyouts while others will be laid off.
