1969 CHEVY STEPSIDE SHORTBED 4X4 !!

THESE ARE TOUGH TO COME BY AND EVEN HARDER TO FIND IN DECENT ROT-FREE CONDITION

THE PHOTOS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.  THIS IS A DEPENDABLE DAILY DRIVER THAT STARTS RIGHT UP AND DRIVES GOOD.  DRIVE IT AS IS, OR RESTORE IT.

BODY/UNDERCARRIAGE:
IT'S VERY SOLID UNDERNEATH WITH NO ROT IN THE METAL (FRAME OR BODY PANELS).  ALL METAL APPEARS TO BE ORIGINAL.  IT WAS REPAINTED YEARS AGO AND AS THE PHOTOS SHOW THE CLEAR COAT IS PEELING AND PAINT IS FADING.  IT HAS IT'S SHARE OF SMALL DINGS HERE AND THERE, CHIPPED PAINT, AND SCRATCHES.  APPEARS TO HAVE ORIGNAL WOOD IN THE BED THAT IS ABOUT 60% THERE AND QUITE DETERIORATED (NEEDS REPLACING).  AS SEEN IN PHOTOS I HAVE A PIECE OF 3/4" PLYWOOD OVER THE ORIGINAL BED.  THERE IS A VERTICAL CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD ALONG THE OUTTER EDGE DRIVERS SIDE, ALL OTHER GLASS IS IN GOOD SHAPE WITH NO CRACKS.

MECHANICAL:
THE ORIGINAL ENGINE IS LONG GONE BUT CURRENTLY HAS A CHEVY SMALL BLOCK 350 THAT RUNS GREAT. EDELBROCK 4BBL CARB. YES, IT DRIPS A BIT OF OIL WHEN SITTING BUT I HAVEN'T NOTICED ANY OTHER FLUID LEAKS.  MOTOR DOES NOT BLOW ANY SMOKE AND NO UNUSUAL ENGINE NOICES (KNOCKS, PINGS, ETC.)  IT NEEDS A HEATER CORE. POWER STEERING AND BRAKES WORK GOOD. TIRES ARE 35's AND WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED SOON.

ALL IN ALL IT'S A VERY RARE, HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER, AND VERY LOVED OLD STEPSIDE.  I GET THUMBS UP EVERYWHERE I GO EVEN IN THE SEMI-ROUGH SHAPE THAT IT'S IN.

CURRENT NADA VALUES :   LOW RETAIL: $9,450
AVERAGE RETAIL: $16,550
HIGH RETAIL: $40,125

RESERVE IS SET VERY REASONABLE FOR A QUICK SALE.  THE LUCKY BUYER WILL HAVE TONS OF EQUITY AND WILL NEVER LOSE ON THIS TRUCK.  THEY JUST KEEP GETTING HARDER TO FIND AND CONTINUE TO CLIMB IN VALUE INSPITE OF THE CRAPPY ECONOMY. TOO MANY PROJECTS, IT'S GOTTA GO.

BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL SHIPPING COSTS AND ARRANGEMENTS.  I'LL HELP ON MY END AS MUCH IS AS NEEDED.  REMEMBER, THIS IS A 44 YEAR OLD TRUCK AND THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES, GUARANTEES, PROMISES, ETC... THIS IS AN "AS IS" SALE.  PLEASE CONTACT BEFORE BIDDING IF YOUR FEEDBACK IS LESS THAN 10 OR I WILL CANCEL YOUR BID.  I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION AT ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON.  IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK THEM BEFORE BIDDING.  GOOD LUCK!!!

Porsche 911 tops a list of must-have classics, but No. 2 is more of a surprise

Wed, Aug 9 2023

No surprise here: In Europe, the Porsche 911 is the most sought-after classic car. Surprise here: Slip-streaming the 911 in the most sought-after chart compiled by the Car & Classic marketplace is the Ford Mustang. Using the Google search engine as a means to pick the winners, as well as the average prices achieved on the “Car and Classic” website, the venerable 911 was tagged 1.45 million times per month according to data stretching back 15 years. The number of 911Â’s sold though the C&C marketplace was 21,141, at an average price of 58,409 pounds, or $74,300. FordÂ’s pony car, still a popular choice for buyers in Europe, placed second on the list with 1.2 million monthly searches. The average sales price over 15 years was 31,107 pounds ($39,570), and the number of older Mustangs sold reached a total of 8,332. Models that also finished among the charted top 10 include the Land Rover Range Rover, the Corvette, the ultra-classic British favorite Jaguar E-Type and the BMW 3 Series. “Whilst a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS could set you back the best part of GBP500,000 ($636,000), there are many more affordable models, which bring the average sale price of a 911 on Car & Classic to GBP58,000 ($73,800) – the third highest average selling price of any make and model on the site,” explained Dale Vinten of Car & Classic. According to the site, the Jaguar fetched the highest average selling price: a whopping 89,000 pounds, or $113,000. But thatÂ’s peanuts compared to a Series 1 Roadster in excellent condition, said Vinten. For that, “you can expect to spend up to GBP250,000 ($318,000), A Series 2 or 3 will cost less, as they are not as desirable, but in decent condition you can expect to pay around GBP40,000-GBP50,000. Even a barn find 1969 E-Type Series 2 Roadster can set you back to the tune of GBP33,000 ($42,000)." Launched in 2005, Car & Classic is among EuropeÂ’s most popular classic car clearinghouses. It also runs a stand-alone auction site.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra show all their sides in Detroit

Tue, 15 Jan 2013

There could hardly be more riding on the next-generation General Motors full-size pickup trucks, so the automaker has wisely made sure to have a selection of different models on hand at the Detroit Auto Show to show off. The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra were both officially introduced last month at a stand-alone reveal, and now they'll be on display for the public to see in various body configurations and trim levels.
The Silverado LTZ Crew Cab and Sierra SLE Extended Cab are aimed at providing more of a high-end pickup experience, while the Silverado LT Z71 Extended Cab and Sierra SLT Z71 Crew Cab should have off-road fans scouting out their favorite trails. The crew cab trucks won't go into production until sometime during the second quarter of this year - with other bodystyles coming later in the year - but we have plenty of live images from Detroit for you to enjoy.

Valet mode captures joyride in red Corvette

Thu, Dec 18 2014

A man in California is among the first to catch a valet behaving badly in his 2015 Corvette using a controversial built-in recording feature. Dan Cowles told KTLA 5 when he bought his dream car, a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, he opted for the Performance Data Recorder. The Corvette PDR uses a high-definition camera mounted in the windshield header, a microphone in the cabin and a GPS receiver that record and track the sports car's movements and sounds. They work together to produce a video with telemetry overlay, so you can see acceleration rates, lap times and g-forces. The system can be customized to show extensive performance data, or simply video of your drive like a traditional dash cam. It also comes with Valet Mode, which locks the glove box, disables entertainment and records video. The audio recording feature ran afoul of several state's recording consent laws, but this video has no audio, indicating the fix may have been as easy as turning off the microphone. Cowles dropped off his hot red 'Vette with the valets at the Segerstrom Center for the Performing Arts in Costa Mesa, CA. When he got his car back he checked the PDR and discovered footage of the valet taking a short, but intense, joyride in the garage. In the video, the valet finds a straightaway in a tiered parking garage and pushes the car to 50 miles per hour in five seconds before quickly stopping. He then parks the car without incident. The valet then gets out of the car and takes one more admiring look at the front. The valet company has yet to commented on the video, according to Fox News, but valets everywhere should be on notice; that little red Corvette you have your eye on may have its eyes on you.
