This is an original barn find recently purchased from an estate in Central Texas (Leakey). This pickup was last licenced in 1976. The pickup truck is very original. including motor, mirrors, wheels, bias ply tires, tailgate, paint, wood bed. It is a real survivor of 52 years. The truck starts, but is not driveable. There is no battery in the truck. Part of the exhaust pipe is missing. The break pedal goes to the floor and fluid comes out of the inside of the wheels. I can find a break in only the drivers side window. The windshield which is a wrap around design seems to have survived without any cracks. The pickup is originally Red and has alot of surface rust. There is only one rust hole that has come throught the metal depicted in the photgraphs submitted.I have a bill of sale on the pickup. The title has been lost. I have paperwork to file for a lost title with the State of Texas. Also bonding title papers. This truck is so original it would be a candidate for a very nice restoration. Many of the parts for this vehicle are available in the LMC truck parts magazine which is included. Also included are 2 original 1961 Sales brochures of this 1961 Chevrolet Apache. I will post 24 photos of this pickup. Please check on shipping cost if you intend to place a bid. This auction will have No Reserve beyond the auction starting price. I will answer additional questions if you have any. Thank you for looking.

General Motors Recalls Nearly 780,000 Cars To Fix Deadly Problem
Thu, Feb 13 2014General Motors is recalling nearly 780,000 compact cars in North America because the engines can shut down unexpectedly and cause crashes. The company says six people have been killed in crashes related to the problem. The recall affects Chevrolet Cobalts and Pontiac G5s from the 2005 through 2007 model years. U.S. safety regulators say the weight of the key ring and rough roads can move the ignition switch out of the run position, cutting the engine and electricity. If that happens, air bags may not work. GM says there have been 22 crashes from the problem. All happened at high speeds. Dealers will replace the ignition switch for free. GM says owners should remove nonessential items from key rings until the problem is fixed. GM offering factory-backed extended warranty for Chevys, GMCs, Buicks and Cadillacs
Mon, Oct 15 2018Cars are generally more reliable than ever before. When things do go wrong, every automaker offers some form of factory warranty (in most cases at least three years and 36,000 miles, though many extend even longer), providing peace of mind to new-car buyers that many faults will be fixed at no charge to the customer. Starting today, GM is offering a new optional plan that will extend the factory warranty on all new Chevy, GMC, Buick and Cadillac products. In the past, extended warranties have been offered as dealer add-ons, with all profits from these sales going to the dealership. GM's new program can be viewed as another nail in the the looming dealership-model coffin. According to Automotive News, some dealers aren't happy to see GM cut into their business like this, saying that it helps GM far more than it does dealers. GM says the new program will help keep customers in the GM family. Customers are also more likely to visit a GM service center rather than going to an independent repair shop. Currently, new Chevy and GMC vehicles come with three-year/36,000-mile warranties. Buicks and Cadillacs are covered for 4 years or 50,000 miles. The new program extends Chevy and GMC warranties to five years or 60,000 miles. Buick and Cadillac warranties extend to six years or 70,000 miles. GM, citing IHS Markit, says most owners keep new cars for about 6.8 years, so these warranties will cover most of the length of their ownership. The extended warranty will add between $1,000 and $2,000 to the price of a vehicle, and the additional cost can be rolled into the vehicle's purchase or lease price. Unlike many dealer extensions, the factory program covers the vehicle no matter who owns it. That should help increase the car's resale value if it's sold within the covered timeframe. GM says there's no deductible and no need to file a claim form when getting warranty repairs. Additionally, dealerships can continue to sell their own extended warranties or service contracts.
