Ottawa, Illinois, United States
Up for your consideration is a 1972 Chevrolet custom deluxe c-10 this is a two owner, original survivor with authentic patina...the real deal! The truck was originally sold from Zscheile Motor Company at Burlington Kansas The truck still comes with the original dealer imprint plate! Very rare... along with the warranty info /emissions booklet/ and owners manual...all original! This truck is 90 % stock and untouched... The tires are not original, tailgate was replaced, along with some parts under the hood... The original rims, carburetor, wires, points distributor, and air cleaner are available if you are interested in the parts. the carb ,distributor wires, and air cleaner assembly where replaced with newer higher performance parts. (I have the originals in a box) The motor is completely stock and is the 4bolt main and higher compression engine...it requires the 91 octane or higher...still has the original diagnostic sticker to prove it! The motor runs excellent and strong. The trans was refreshed but is the original trans to the truck. shifts strong with no issues, very dependable. the rest of the drive train and suspension is all original and in excellent working order. the truck also has the rear leaf suspension and is very tight, not the wore out money pit of the trailing arm style! The truck has newer dual exhaust with new performance mufflers all in great shape Has new brakes up front, calipers were restored along with the original front rotors The rear brakes are new and the drums are original to the truck, all in great shape\ All the brake lines and fuel lines are in great shape The frame of the truck is in good shape and solid The body is all original and shows authentic patina and wear over the years... this is what is hot now. The real deal! a survivor...a natural not made to look like it is one... priceless originality.... The only rust issues the truck has, is the inside of the bed around the wheel wells and back by the tailgate do have rust that could be repaired and the natural patina of the truck wouldn't be harmed, the rust is on the inside and wouldn't interfere with the exterior look. There is rust on the lower drivers side door but fits the look of the truck... clear coat it to protect it and have the original look. guys are paying big bucks to have this look done. The truck starts, runs, steers, and stops excellent, it is fun and easy to drive.... turns all kinds of heads and is conversation piece at your stops. Very cool truck with no issues, jump in and drive it next spring... or do your custom tweaks during the winter and have it the way you want it come spring! Some one started to put in vintage a/c and didn't finish... I haven't removed it yet. you can either finish it or remove for the complete stock look. The only reason I am selling the truck...I actually bought it for my dad two years ago... worked on everything to make it easy to drive/safe/ and dependable.... and tried to give it to him as a surprise gift...( his favorite truck 30-some years ago was a 1972 that looked just like this one) but he told me he wasn't in to it anymore the love for the old truck was gone... I was pretty shocked... but anyway... I am finally going to sell it now... hopefully it will go to someone who has a passion for it... and will drive and enjoy it. Thanks for looking

General Motors CEO Provides Few Details In Appearance Before Congress
Wed, Apr 2 2014It was only two months ago that Mary Barra, freshly crowned as the new General Motors chief executive officer, visited Washington DC as an esteemed guest of First Lady Michelle Obama for the State of the Union address. On Tuesday, Barra returned to the Capitol under more strained circumstances. For more than two contentious hours, she took questions from members of a House of Representatives subcommittee investigating General Motors years-long delay in initiating a recall of millions of vehicles that contained a defect that has killed at least 13 people. Why did GM accept faulty ignition switches that were below the company's set specfications? Why did GM learn about the problem in 2001 yet take no action until 2014? Will GM compensate victims' families even though the company's bankruptcy may limit its liability? Those were a few of the questions members of the House Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee asked. Few concrete answers were forthcoming. For her part, Barra sidestepped most of the questions, saying she wouldn't have information needed to answer them until an internal review is completed. David Friedman, the administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, testified after Barra. The biggest news that emerged from the hearing was that General Motors has retained attorney Kenneth Feinberg to advise the company on its civil and legal responsibilities. He has made a career of resolving disputes and serving in a 'fixer' role, serving as the chief of the federal government's September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, as an administrator of compensation fund for victims of the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster and a similar fund for victims of the Boston Marathon bombing. Barra, who has been GM's CEO since January but been with the company since 1980, expects to meet with Feinberg on Friday, and have a concrete plan within the next 30-60 days. Yet Barra would not say for certain Tuesday that GM would compensate the victims at all. Despite repeated questions from Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.), Barra did not outline the company's intentions. "I assume GM is hiring (Feinberg) to help identify the size of claims and then compensate the victims? Is that right," DeGette asked. "Is GM willing to put together some kind of a compensation fund for these victims that Mr. Feinberg will then administer?" "We've hired him to help assess the situation," Barra replied. "So really, there's no money involved at this point," DeGette asked.
GM learning from current Chevy Volt owners as it works on next-gen model
Tue, Sep 16 2014Details of the second-generation Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in hybrid are coming in at a trickle, and the latest is that the 2016 model-year Volt will be improved in all meaningful areas, including performance and all-electric range, says General Motors powertrain director Larry Nitz. 60 percent of Volt customers only charge using a standard 110 outlet. Nitz was speaking to Autoline After Hours about the current and future Volt. He said that GM has been tracking Volt driving habits and found that about two-thirds of the Volts' collective miles are driven in electric mode, and that 81 percent of all Volt trips were done in pure EV mode. Additionally, Volt drivers plug the car in 10 times each week, on average. Nitz also said 82 percent of the Volt's commuting miles are coming from the plug instead of the gas tank. Oh, and 60 percent of Volt customers only charge using a standard 110 outlet. Last month, GM released a teaser shot of the 2016 Volt (above) and said the car would make its worldwide debut at the 2015 North American International Auto Show next January. Earlier this year, the Volt was reported to be getting a new chassis for the upcoming version. The Volt could use a bit of new life. Through August, Volt sales were down 12 percent from a year earlier to 13,146 units, and sales plunged 25 percent alone. That compares unfavorably to the Nissan Leaf battery-electric vehicle, whose 2014 sales have jumped 34 percent to almost 19,000 units. You can see Nitz dish the goods in the video below (Volt comments start at around minute 15). You will also notice AutoblogGreen contributor Gary Witzenburg talk about his history with the EV1 and share his take on the Volt. This content is hosted by a third party. Chevy Sonic shreds like a skateboard
Tue, 19 Mar 2013Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London.
In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around.
If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.
