1986 Chevrolet Silverado Long Bed 2wd Pickup-loaded Clean Nice!! Gmc on 2040-cars
Union, West Virginia, United States
Up for bids is a very nice 1986 Chevrolet pickup, 2 wheel drive, long bed with the Silverado package which is loaded with options. It has a 305 engine and automatic trans. The truck runs, shifts, and drives great for a 86 model. I think all options work as they should but not sure about the cruise control, will check it again. This truck has the optional and sought after two tone paint job with the rally wheels which have all the trim rings and center caps on them. Tires are good, think maybe one is showing a little dry rot. The body on this truck is very nice and solid. The only rust on this truck was on the cab corners about the size of a quarter, both were repaired nicely. The wheel wells, the bed, front fenders etc are all rust free. Its a very solid truck. The paint is pretty nice and shiny, would give it probably a 6 or 7 out of ten. It has been touched up a little sometime over the years but is still pretty nice. The interior is good with a new GM style seat cover on it, not the cheap aftermarket kind but a real cover that is hog ringed on like the factory does, it looks great. The dash has one of the hard shell covers on it, not the cheap cloth ones, and it looks good. the door panels are faded a little but not torn up. Carpet is good, a shampoo job would make it better but its nice as is. The tilt column is nice and tight. I did notice the horn button has a small crack in it as lots of them do. The complete interior looks very nice. The power windows work as do the power locks. It has a AM FM tape deck, radio works, not sure about the tape deck though. AC has some pressure in the lines but the compressor isn't kicking on so im guessing it needs a little charge. It has the dual gas tanks and they both seem to work fine and the gauge works as supposed to. The battery gauge doesn't move, may just be a bad conection. The front bumper is new but the rear has been damaged a little and straightened, really needs replaced. It looks ok but needs to be replaced to make it look as good as the rest of the truck. Guys this is a very nice 1986 truck but remember this is an 86 model so please don't expect perfection. Its a sharp, clean truck that has all the right options you want in a pickup. It was being built by a friend of mine but he had some finiancial problems so had to give it up before he got it finshed. The engine may have been rebuilt or changed, not sure which, as its been painted up real nice. Email me with any questions you may have before bidding. the buy it now on this truck is more than fair so don't miss out over a few dollars. The truck seems to run out good guys, Ive only put about 10 miles or so on it because of not being licensed but see no problems. The truck is being sold as is.This style of truck is worth more and more all the time as its one that the collectors all look for. I require a $500 deposit at auctions end. I will give you plenty of time to pick it up or have it shipped as long as its paid for in full within 3 days. Checkout my positive feedback guys, you don't get great feedback like that if you lie and cheat people, I tell it like it is. Rest assure your dealing with an honest ebayer. I reserve the right to end the auction early should the truck sell locally. If you have less then 10 positive feedback you must contact me before bidding or I will cancel your bid. PLEASE only bid if you want the truck and will complete the transactions should you be the winning bidder. Thanks for looking and good luck should you decide to bid on this very nice 86 Chevy truck. It has a clean and clear VA title.

2019 GMC Sierra revealed with CarbonPro bed and new diesel engine
Thu, Mar 1 2018It's only March, and it's already been one hell of a year for trucks. January's Detroit Auto Show saw the reveals of the 2019 Ram 1500, 2019 Ford Ranger and the 2019 Chevy Silverado. The Chicago Auto Show brought new versions of the Toyota Tacoma and Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. Today, we finally got our first look at the Silverado's twin, the 2019 GMC Sierra. The truck features new styling, a new diesel engine and — on the Sierra Denali — a carbon fiber bed. As with every new full-size truck, the Sierra is larger than the outgoing model in almost every dimension, though exact dimensions haven't been revealed. For reference, though, the Chevy Silverado's bed is 7-inches wider than before. The new Sierra grille is more upright than before and features new C-shaped lighting. The Denali gets LED headlights, tail lights and fog lights. Both SLT and Denali trims get unique 22-inch wheels. As we saw in spy photos, the Sierra's interior is mostly just a copy of the Silverado's with some chrome accents sprinkled throughout. If you like the current truck interiors, you'll be pleased with the new model. Those hoping for a wholesale change will be left wanting. The big improvements inside include a full-color heads-up display, trailer hitch assist apps and cameras, and the rear-camera mirror found in models like the Chevy Traverse and Cadillac CT6. Safety and convenience features include a surround-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, pedestrian detection and low-speed automatic braking. Like the Silverado, there's been a significant effort to cut weight in the new Sierra. The 2019 model loses as much as 360 pounds compared to the current truck. It uses aluminum for the doors, hood and tailgate. Steel is still used for the fenders, roof and standard cargo box. The Denali, however, gets the real surprise here. Available only on the top-tier trim, the bed box will be constructed of carbon fiber rather than steel, saving 62 pounds. Carbon fiber only replaces the steel inner panels and floor. GMC says the carbon fiber will also help scratch and corrosion resistance. SLT and Denali models also get a new MultiPro tailgate. This is unique to the Sierra and separate from the Silverado's power assist unit. A new feature that helps one get into and out of the bed using an assist handle. The tailgate step has a maximum weight capacity of 375 pounds. There multiple positions that allow customers to extend the bed, or drop the center vertically to gain easier access to the back.
2016 Chevy Volt will have more EV range, bigger battery
Tue, Oct 28 2014Meet the new Volt, not the same as the old Volt. That appears to be the story when General Motors introduces the 2016 Chevy Volt at the Detroit Auto Show in January. Today we're getting some more details on the guts of the new plug-in hybrid, and it turns out they're going to be much improved from the current Volt, which first went on sale at the end of 2010. Sure, the first-gen Volt did get some improvements along the way (a slightly larger battery pack, lane departure warnings) but the new Volt – which will go on sale in the second half of 2015 – marks the first time GM has been able to return to the drawing board and really make the improvements that its customers want. That's how Larry Nitz, GM's executive director of vehicle electrification explained it to AutoblogGreen today when explaining the all-new Voltec extended range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrain. "In the Gen 2 is we gave the engine a little more power, a little more torque, a little more displacement, more capability." – Larry Nitz Nitz said that the new Volt will be better in almost every sense: a bigger battery, longer EV-only range, 20 percent better acceleration in the low speed range and higher overall efficiency. This is due, in part, to the Volt's two motors being able to both act as generators and power the car. As we noted this morning, the 2016 Volt will use a larger, 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, a version of which is already used in the Chinese-market Cruze. Nitz said that this has a number of benefits, including more power and quieter operation. "Some people would say, why did you make [the first-gen engine] so big. I would say, why did you make it so small?" he said. "It works good, our customers love it, but the reality is that if you go a little bit off and use the car a little harder, you can get the engine to need to operate at a higher speed. In an EV, that's quite noticeable. So, what we did in the Gen 2 is we gave the engine a little more power, a little more torque, a little more displacement, more capability and what it has marginally enabled is not only is it more efficient but it's also quieter." Nitz wouldn't talk about how the new powertrain might affect the two other products that use the Volt's underpinnings – the Cadillac ELR and the Opel Ampera – but if you've got a quieter option, we assume that's something ELR drivers would enjoy. But that's a story for another day.
Fullsize GM SUVs have a problem that's making owners sick
Thu, Dec 31 2015Some fullsize SUV owners are getting sick, thanks to a buffeting and vibration problem in 2015 model year examples of the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban, Cadillac Escalade, and GMC Yukon. According to owners' complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the issue can vary from an annoying vibration inside the cabin to an experience so severe that it leads to dizziness and headaches. General Motors is aware of the complaints, but the fix isn't so simple. According to spokesperson Tom Wilkinson to Autoblog, the company "has been tracking this issue for a while." The problem has a fairly low incidence rate, but when it does occur the issue can be "uncomfortable and annoying for owners." There's no precise cause for the issue, Wilkinson claims, and in some cases, simply balancing the tires or changing the door seals can make it go away. However, not all of the fixes are so simple. AutoGuide dug deep into the problem and discovered a GM preliminary information bulletin that advised dealers to remove the headliner and to check the roof's bonds to the bows that go across the vehicle. However, that document included a note that the solution might not entirely eliminate things. According to AutoGuide, adding Dynamat insulation to the roof sometimes helped the problem. A GM spokesperson also told AutoGuide the company fixed the problem at the end of the 2015 model year, and didn't go into any more detail. This roof issue seems linked to some of the worst droning in these SUVs. According to one complaint from a 2015 Suburban owner to NHTSA: "Roof will not remain attached to the roof bows. This causes the buffeting similar to a window being down when all are up. The results span from annoying to painful." A 2015 Yukon owner claims to have another alleged cause for the problem in a NHTSA complaint from February 2015. This person brought their SUV to the dealer seven times over the course of four weeks for vibrations. The dealer replaced the driveshaft, suspension components, and more, but nothing worked. According to an engineer to the service adviser: "In an effort to prevent roll overs, they designed the frame and body mounts too stiff. There are 40 engineers working on issues, they have no solutions that work across the board." Wilkinson told Autoblog that GM is working with customers on an individual basis to rectify things. Since these are newer vehicles, dealers should also fix the problem under warranty.
