You are looking at one of the coolest 1985 Chevy trucks out there. I bought this truck back in the summer from a friend of mine, he had the 454 placed in it as well as the transmission (not sure which it is) and the A/C. I took the truck home and parked it in the garage. After I drove it a few times I decided to make use of an old 2004 Saturn Vue I had laying with a bad trans, so I gutted the interior and took the front buckets from the vue and the console and had them redone in black leather/suede with the blue diamond stitching, I had the headrests embroidered with 454. I even had the original seat belts switched over and retro-fitted them to the truck. The interior is truly amazing, I replaced the steering wheel and now the truck is as comfortable to drive as you could ask for. I put a new exhaust on the truck, not extremely loud, but gives you enough rumble to know that you have some HP at your disposal. The A/C blows ice cold and the original radio works, this truck does have tilt wheel which is very handy. The previous owner had put in the headliner you see with speakers and an aftermarket radio, its a very cool idea but I could never get the radio to work correctly so I just use the original. The tires on this truck are in great shape, as are the wheels. The truck uses no oil and runs awesome. I replaced the starter just a month or so ago. I would jump in this truck and take it anywhere I wanted with no hesitation. I also replaced the radiator with a much larger radiator. The truck is a 2wd short wheel base.
I do have the title in hand and it does show a previously rebuilt and true mileage unknown. The mileage part is pretty standard in KY at least, after 10 years the state recognizes all vehicles of having potentially unknown mileage. The odometer shows 67K but I have honestly no way of knowing if that is correct or not. I bought the truck knowing these things, and to me they are irrelevant when you get to these year models and types of vehicles. I know the previous owner had this truck apart anyway replacing every nut and bolt so I had no concerns. I don't absolutely have to sell the truck so please don't compare this truck to the one in your neighbor's yard and think I am going to let mine go for what you can buy an old rust bucket for. This truck really needs to be seen to appreciate the work and detail that has been put in it. This truck with a little bit more detail on things like interior trims, dash and small things like that would be by far the sharpest one in the country. It is very classic and tasteful while still having enough comfort to make it a driver. If you have any questions feel free to call me and I will answer anything I can for you. If you are close enough to come take a look at it you are more than welcome to come by and drive it. I am a car dealer but this truck was one out of my personal cars. I love to hear offers that are within reason and I will consider trading on just about anything. I do reserve the right to end this listing at anytime due to the truck being for sale locally as well. Thanks and HAPPY NEW YEAR! Zack Jones 606-304-3199 |

Nissan Leaf sets another monthly sales record, Chevy Volt remains steady
Mon, Nov 3 2014Here we go again. Another month in the books and another month of record sales by the Nissan Leaf in the US. For October, the world's best-selling pure EV sold 2,589 units, which is 29.3 percent more than October 2013. That makes it 20 times in a row that Nissan can say that last month sales were better than the same month a year before. All told, Nissan has sold 24,411 Leafs in the US this year, a new record, reflecting an overall Leaf sales rate that is up 35 percent, year-to-date. Nissan isn't stopping, either. A new TV ad, one that, "encourages consumers to kick gas" by saving money on fuel will start airing today in major markets, according to Toby Perry, director of Nissan's EV marketing. You can watch it below. As for the Chevy Volt, things remained steady last month in the face of a new model that's coming in the second half of 2015. Chevy sold 1,439 Volts last month, which is about the same as September (1,394) but down 28.8 percent from the October 2013 despite GM having its best overall US October sales this year since 2007. So far, 2014 Volt year-to-date sales are down 14.9 percent through the end of October compared to 2013. And that wraps up the flash report on monthly sales for these two long-standing plug-in vehicles in the US market. As always, we'll have our in-depth write-up of US green car sales available soon. For now, we await your comments, below. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
The U-2 spy plane needs high-performance cars to help land
Thu, Oct 15 2015Typically, aircraft deploy their landing gear from three main points. Most military aircraft, for example, deploy two gears at the back and one forward, like a tricycle. Some civilian aircraft flip the layout, with two in front and one in back - tail-draggers. The U-2 Dragon Lady is wildly different than any of these. With a 103-foot wingspan but a body that's just 63-feet long, the layout of the U-2 makes a traditional landing setup infeasible. Instead, the U-2 utilizes a pair of wheels, one up front and one in back. With such a bizarre layout, landings are so tough that since the U-2's earliest flights at Area 51, the US Air Force has used high-performance chase cars to guide the pilot down safely. The landing process isn't over there, though. As this video from Sploid shows, balancing out the aircraft to fit the detachable "pogos" – think training wheels for spy planes – is a comical procedure requiring a number of airman using their full body weight to even out the U-2. This video also recaps some of the great vehicles that have served as chase vehicles for this legendary spy plane. They include Chevrolet El Caminos, and the Fox-body Ford Mustangs so favored by the California Highway Patrol. For the last several years, the USAF has utilized products from General Motors, using fourth-generation Chevy Camaros, before switching over to the Pontiac GTO and most recently, the awesome Pontiac G8. It's fair to say that if you're a gearhead in the Air Force, this is the job you want. Check out the video, embedded up top. Nissan sells 3,117 Leaf EVs in May, climbs over 3,000 for first time ever
Tue, Jun 3 2014Chalk up a big win for the Nissan Leaf. In May, the world's most popular electric vehicle sold a record 3,117 units, the first time any pure electric vehicle has sold over 3,000 units in a month in the US (unless Tesla managed that feat but rolled the number into a quarterly report). This marks the 15th month in a row of record Leaf sales and the seventh where the Leaf was the top EV seller in the US. The challenge bar is set for someone to step up to compete with this all-electric wunderkind. Chevrolet did sell over 3,000 Volts once, in August 2013. The Leaf's one long-standing competitor, of a sort, is the Chevy Volt, which used to regularly outsell the Leaf but moved only 1,684 units in May. That's still an increase of 4.8 percent over 2013 but is part of a 4.5 percent decline in year-to-date Volt sales for 2014 compared to last year. The last time the Volt outsold the Leaf was October 2013. Chevrolet did sell over 3,000 Volts once, when it moved 3,351 in August 2013. Let's take another look at those 3,117 Leafs sold last month. They represent a 45.8 percent increase over May 2013, when 2,138 Leaf EVs were sold, so someone is doing something right in Japan and Tennessee. So far, Leaf sales in the US are up 36.4 percent year-to-date, to 10,389 EVs. That's just under half of the 2013 total, and it was accomplished in five months. In 2013, Nissan sold a total of 22,610 Leafs. Anyone want to hazard a guess where the total will be at the end of the year? As always, we'll have our detailed monthly sales write-up including other plug-in vehicles as well as hybrids and diesel car, up soon. For now, though, the big news is big Leaf sales. Read Nissan's press release below. Nissan Group reports May 2014 U.S. sales May 2014 May 2013 % Change Nissan Group Total sales (units) 135,934 114,457 +18.8 Nissan Division May sales 125,558 106,558 +17.8 Infiniti May sales* 10,376 7,899 +31.4 NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nissan Group today announced total U.S. sales for May 2014 of 135,934 units, an increase of 18.8 percent over the prior year and a May record. Nissan highlights: Nissan Division set a May record at 125,558 sales in the month, an increase of 17.8 percent. This marks a monthly record for Nissan division in 14 of the last 15 months. May was the best-ever month for Nissan LEAF with 3,117 sales, an increase of 45.8 percent over the prior year. In May, LEAF passed 50,000 total U.S. sales since launch, further establishing it as the leader among electric vehicles.
