How classic is that!

ITEM DESCRIPTION AND FEATURES:

Here folks is a truck that we have purchased at a very big donation auction. It was sent in from a local estate that needed to be settled. Folks this was said to be a one owner truck at time of auction and told to be actual miles of 40,561 and from what we see we have no reason to think anything different. We do not know the last time this truck was actually used as a driver. We were told it's been sitting in the tractor shed before brought to the auction. We did find  under the seat 2 repair orders from local garages and the one was dated in 1992 with 28,882 miles and  the next dated in 1999 and on the repair order it  had 35,206 miles on at this time so in the last 21 years the truck only seen around 12,000 miles. I have the build sheet that I am going to tell you how it was ordered and built by chevy from the factory. (TRUCK WAS BUILT IN CANADA). Then we will go over the truck in detail about the rest. Ok folks, listen up.Built in October of 1977 and titled in 1978 chevrolet cheyenne 4x4 shortbed. Here is the list of factory options right off the build sheet that the truck was ordered with. This truck has a small block 400 ordered from factory with a 4 barrel carb with the 3 speed automatic transmission and 4x4 transfer case is high and low range and the front springs are the heavy duty 3 leaf not 2 like most (no sagging with age here!) and 3.07 gear ratio, dual fuel tanks. This was a great combination that chevy put together (They just don't build em like this anymore). Also has soft ray tinted glass, antenna in glass, dash has the factory gauges, complete factory rally wheels and center caps with stainless steel beauty rings complete, chrome front bumper and grille trimmed in chrome, also has the little factory chrome sport mirrors on both sides and complete upper and lower body and wheel well trim mouldings, (Hard to find a truck with these mouldings complete and still intact), paint code is (68p,russet)  sliding rear window, painted rear bumper. Spare tire mounted on underside of bed frame and the jack is mounted under hood on wheel well as it should. We do have the factory books. This truck is a true survivor and I would say the ziebart coating done at dealership when sold helped this one, you can see the original ziebart sticker on drivers' door. This truck would make a great day for all those camping, hunting, fishing and ski trips. This truck can take you places only you've been wanting and waiting to go. With a no reserve auction sold to high bidder. (MUST BID TO WIN). (So folks, you are bidding what it's worth to you and I have no idea what that may be but I am sure you do. We will do our very best to describe this chevy cheyenne as accurate as we can and I will be telling and showing you as much as I can with the description and pictures. It appears that this truck has never been taken apart and , Also, as for the body it is all original and stock and non molested. Folks these trucks are getting very hard to find and becoming one of the best and most desired body styles that chevy ever made, what a collectors' item, when you find them still original and not chopped up and this clean. That's what you are looking at here. Listen folks, the miles on the odometer reads as 40,561 and this may vary by a few miles depending on bidders coming to test drive. And yes folks, we encourage you to come and do just that. But if that is not possible please feel free to email or call us with any questions or concerns that you may have.    YOU ARE GONNA LIKE  IT!  FOLKS THE ONE THAT WE HAD ON HERE A FEW MONTHS AGO WAS A 1979 CHEVY 4X4 SHORTBED AND VERY NICE WAS SHIPPED TO  FRANCE TO OUR HIGH BIDDER THESE TRUCKS HAVE A GREAT FOLLOWING!

This is your opportunity to own a very nice classic chevy cheyenne 4x4 shortbed and with a no reserve auction. We're letting the price up to you.

HERE IS WHAT WE KNOW:

Interior Condition:  This chevy cheyenne c10 sports the original full bench seat which does have tears in around the seams and the dash does have factory gauges and what we have seen they appear to work fine, wipers, heater blower all work but heater core has been by passed, the dash pad does have some cracking in places, There is an old stereo still in dash but does not work and there is a cb radio mounted behind the seat. Door panels are good all intact and show some normal wear, windows crank up and down just fine, rear sliding window is missing a trim moulding on driver side glass. Carpet is factory moulded and looks to have never been removed for any reason, there is some dirt stains on carpet and normal wear, headliner is starting to sag. Folks we will tell what we can. I have 2 sets of keys. (folks we work hard on these ads and details and up to date photos. We try to miss nothing, many things are common wear and normal but we want you to know all that we know and that we have took notice to so we can tell you).

Exterior Condition:  Paint is original and is the chevy russet which is a burnt orange or bronze in color and still looks very decent for 35 year old original paint and appears to have just some minor fading and normal issues found but nothing major. The areas that have slight rust to mention are the right side of bed behind rear wheel well moulding and left side lower front fender and small hole in rocker, and slight cab corner blister and lower rear of bed side behind wheel moulding, door bottoms got a little minor blisters starting. We have tried to picture the areas where the minor rust spots are. (please look at pictures).  Folks really this truck has never been apart or molested in any way, its never seen a touch up spray can of paint and never had a spot of bondo or pop rivit or patch panel. This truck looks super original and solid as a rock. The front inner wheel wells are good we did notice a brace on left underside of hood to stiffen hood these are not needed if you keep hood hinges lubricated and as the floors and cab mounts and rockers are just great and never touched also the rear bed inner wheel wells are perfect and inside of the bed on this truck appears to have never really hauled much of anything because there are no dents or signs of hauling big items. We did remove an aluminum cap from the truck which I am sure was purchased shortly after truck was new and if winning bidder wants the cap they can request it free of charge and we will place it back on truck and we also have the key for lock, the cap is good shape. We removed it so we could show you a better picture of truck bed and top rails and inside of bed. (One of the best you will ever see with a no reserve auction). But really folks look at the pictures and also the underneath of the truck and it speaks for itself no excuses, it was put on a lift so you can see the underside still looks great and this truck has no frame rust or any problems that we seen. This truck looks great. Again it looks absolutely wonderful and is rock solidHope these pictures help all of you bidders. Also again this is a good looking classic chevy cheyenne and is advertised as well as we can explain and picture it to all our possible bidders. If you need a specific picture we will try to take it and email it to you upon your request. Thanks again. We do the best job we can for our customers. All pictures are recent and taken 1 or 2 days prior to ad posting we give you the real up to date news and photos on what you are buying.

Driveline Condition:  Ok, to all bidders this is what we know, This is the original 400 small block motor with a 4 barrel carb and stock factory manifolds with dual exhaust no catalytic converters, automatic 3 speed transmission, high low range transfer case with lock out hubs, 3.07 gears in rears and tag still in tact. Factory rally wheels with all center caps and stainless rings with 31x10.50x15 inch tires that look super, but do show some age possible cracks and we found 2 tires that have a patch plug in them. We heard when driving out of the shed they hit some old barn boards with nails sticking out. Folks this truck really performs and handles great with no odd noise or smoke or any fluid leaks and holds great oil pressure and engine temperature is just as it should be, transmission shifts smooth and just as it should. We see no reason why winning bidder can not drive this truck home. Just again folks, we try our very best to give you all the right information about the truck as possible. Folks when we had the truck on the lift and looked at under side of truck we found no problems or anything that is not as it should be under the truck. You really will love how it looks and drives. We describe these ads as accurate and honest as we can and try to give you the best pictures possible. Sorry if we repeat ourselves sometimes, but we try not to miss anything. Thank you for looking and bidding. Folks when bidding remember this is a 35 year old truck and has not had hardly any miles put on over the past few years. We recommend when getting home that you should fully service the vehicle and check all preventative maintenance items so you have them on record and can maintain your truck according to your driving. We try very hard to tell you just what you are buying.  So you have to read and ask questions if you have any before bidding.

Title and Mileage Status:  We have a free and clear title to this chevy truck for the winning bidder. The odometer reading of (40,561) miles is what is showing and that is how you buy it.  This is to be actual miles but our title reads exempt. This is how you buy it, free and clear title no liens.

THE BEST NEWS IS- EVERY ONE GETS TO BID WHAT THEY CAN AFFORD AND YOU TELL US WHAT IT'S WORTH, YOU MAKE THE PRICE, WE DON'T.

Folks this classic chevrolet cheyenne c10 4x4 is sold to high bidder no matter the price.

Gettysburg, where the great Civil War battles were fought is also close by. We are only minutes from the capital of PA which is, Harrisburg and it has many sites to be seen. We will pick up the winning bidder at any of these local transportation hubs; Harrisburg International Airport (HIA), Harrisburg Train Station, or the Harrisburg Bus Station. We are a small truck and car dealer in central PA for over 15 years and we are being as honest as we can to give you the best and most accurate description and pictures of what we know about our auctions. There is alot of time that goes into these auctions so only bid if you are prepared to complete your transaction. We do prize you as a customer. Your business is valued to us. If you have any questions please ask before bidding. We do not end auctions early for any reason, you must bid to win. Feel free to call with any concerns or e-mail me. I do not answer or return Sunday replies due to being closed. I will store the vehicle up to 30 days, to the winning bidder, free of charge, after being paid in full.

Our policy is, ALL sales are final and are sold "AS IS" and with NO warranty of any kind or for any reason and with no exceptions.

All vehicles will have a free and clear title available at end of auction to the successful bidder. A title 10 years and older in the state of PA sometimes could read mileage exempt or exceeds mechanical limits due to our DMV processing system. We cannot guarantee mileage to be anything other than what we read on the title or odometer in vehicle being sold.

To all our winning bidders we do recommend that after you get your item home that you find out what kind of normal preventative maintenance should be done to keep your purchase working as well as it can and not giving you future problems. Maintence may include; change all fluids, filters and oils and complete tune up, check all tire presure and condition of tires and balance if needed and look at brakes and all rubber hoses and belts, spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor and as far as fuel tanks, this is a tough one but we recommend looking at rubber fill hoses clamps and gaskets because this is a common area that can cause you grief,(thanks to ethanol).  We can not always see these areas and sometimes trucks have more than 1 fuel tank and we do not usually switch over to the other tank or fill tanks full of gas. This should help you get alot of extra years out of your vehicle. Hope these little tips help and in the long term we think you will probably save money. Also Folks, we say or think you can drive these older cars and trucks home and you probaly can but remember, if we tell you they been sitting and only been driven a few miles on them in the past few years, the fan belts and hoses and fuel filters can still go bad before you get home to do the preventive maintence. Folks these are just our little tips by no means does it mean you got to do it we just feel it helped us over the past 20 years and just wanted to pass it on.

Corvette Stolen In Detroit Returned To Owner After 33 Years

Wed, Jun 25 2014

A Detroit man had his stolen Corvette returned 33 years after it disappeared while parked on one of Detroit's main drags, according to ABC 7. The last time George Talley saw his 1979 Corvette was on a July day in 1981, when it disappeared from its parking spot on Jefferson Avenue in Detroit. He had given up hope of ever seeing his car again, until a phone call from AAA brought his sporty ride home. Authorities had come across a Corvette with a questionable VIN in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. When they ran the number Talley's stolen car report came up. The car is still in pretty good shape and only has 47,000 miles on the odometer. Talley wasn't sure how he could get the car back home, but General Motors stepped in and agreed to cover the cost of bringing the 'Vette home. Talley has always had a passion for Detroit-made muscle cars. "I've always liked Corvettes. It was attractive. The ladies like 'em," Talley told ABC 7.

GM program sees dealers taking on way more loaner cars

Wed, Dec 17 2014

Given the volume of vehicles we're talking about, this is a significant development for GM's bottom line. Bring your car into the dealership for service, and you may need a loaner car in exchange. And with so many recalls being carried out, that means a lot of loaners – especially at General Motors dealerships. That could be one of the reasons why GM is massively expanding its loaner fleet program. While many Chevrolet and Buick-GMC dealerships have an on-site rental car location operated by a third party like Enterprise (which may or may not provide a GM vehicle), others manage their own loaner fleets. But while the range of dealerships operating such fleets was once small, reports Automotive News, the number has been growing rapidly: from the locations responsible for only 20 percent of those brands' sales two years ago to about 90 percent today. The impetus for that growth comes down to a massive expansion of GM's Courtesy Transportation Program. The initiative encourages dealers to ramp up their loaner fleet to a maximum size determined by GM, with a mix determined by the dealer itself, so that a showroom in Texas can be bolstered with a fleet of pickup trucks and a dealer in California can employ more Volt and Camaro Convertible loaners. The dealership gets a $500 credit for each vehicle its puts in its fleet, and can use those vehicles as loaners for service customers, as multi-day test drivers or to rent out separately. The vehicles remain in the dealer's fleet for 90 days or 7,500 miles, then they can be sold as used, but with new-car incentives. The dealer gets a fleet of loaners, customers get to use the loaners, try out a new car overnight or buy a barely used car with attractive incentives, and GM gets to clock more sales. But therein lies the kicker: the automaker counts the dispatch of the loaner new vehicle to the dealership as a new-car sale, which could end up distorting its sales figures. Counting loaner vehicles as sold vehicles is something of an industry-standard practice, but given the volume of vehicles we're talking about, this is a significant development for GM's bottom line. One dealership - Paddock Chevrolet in Kenmore, NY, for example - had no loaner fleet two years ago, but now runs a fleet of 50 vehicles. Multiply that by the 4,000 or so dealers GM has across America and you're talking about the potential for hundreds of thousands of these sorts of sales.
