Selling my 1974 Chevy Custom Deluxe 10 454 big block. This truck is matching numbers with 28600 original miles. I purchased this truck from the original buyers daughter who acquired the truck in 2000 after he past away. The truck was originally sold in Utah and remained there before spending the last 14 years here in San Diego. The truck has brand new tires, the wheels were on the truck when I purchased it. Since buying the truck I have put about 900 miles on it, removed all the trim and had it repainted the same color. the truck starts up first time every time, the engine is strong and has no leaks, the transmission shifts smoothly, there are no known issues. windows roll up and down and all gauges work, clock even tics every once in awhile. Please contact me with any questions or if you would like to come check it out. The "bad" The front bumper has minor surface rust on the left side There is a small rust spot in the corner of the bed (Pictured) The cab and door jams were not repainted, remain original Rubber Stripping is dry and cracked in some areas
Since owning the truck I have moved from a house to a downtown apt with limited parking, it makes sense to sell do to space. please come by to check it out If your in the area, or feel free to contact me with any questions. I have included the link for its value as a reference, nada guides does not take mileage into account and for that reason I place the truck somewhere between average and high retail http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1974/Chevrolet/C10/Pickup-1-2-Ton-Fleetside-LWB/Values the below link it to a video clip start up and walk around https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ya7ENseJbrc IF THE TRUCK LOOKS FAMILIAR ITS BECAUSE I HAD IT LISTED ON EBAY AND ENDED THE LISTING DUE TO A PENDING LOCAL SALE WHICH FELL THROUGH. Safety group pans GM’s new Marketplace in-dash shopping
Wed, Dec 6 2017When it comes to our cars, is the Internet of Things a godsend? Or a hidden menace that will create more problems than it will solve? On the same day General Motors announced it will equip newer-model cars with its in-dash Marketplace e-commerce app, a prominent safety group was shooting it down. National Safety Council President Deborah Hersman tells Bloomberg the technology will only contribute to distracted driving and hurt efforts to stem the tide of rising auto fatalities, which grew 5.6 percent to more than 37,000 in the U.S. in 2016. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says distracted driving was responsible for 3,477 fatalities and 391,000 injuries in 2015, the most recent year for which it has data. "There's nothing about this that's safe," Hersman told Bloomberg. "If this is why they want WiFi in the car, we're going to see fatality numbers go up even higher than they are now." Marketplace, developed with IBM, will allow drivers — or more often, one hopes, their passengers — to order coffee or food, find gas stations and reserve hotel rooms from their dashboard screens. The technology is set to be uploaded automatically to nearly 1.9 million GM vehicles model-year 2017 and later that are equipped with WiFi hotspots and compatible systems. By the end of 2018, about 4 million Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles will be equipped with Marketplace. The app will debut with a limited number of participating retailers, including TGI Fridays, Shell, Exxon Mobil and Starbucks, with more likely to join later. Online retail giant Amazon is also partnering with automakers such as Ford to bring e-commerce capabilities inside the car through its Alexa personal assistant. While convenience is nice, one other thing is becoming clear as the IoT wedges its way into our cars: It's taking aim at some decidedly first-world problems.Related Video: Image Credit: GM Buick Cadillac Chevrolet GM GMC Technology Infotainment in-car entertainment marketplace e-commerce
GM Recalling 370,000 Trucks For Fire Risk
Mon, Jan 13 2014DETROIT (AP) - General Motors is recalling 370,000 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups from the 2014 model year to fix software that could cause the exhaust components to overheat and start a fire. The recall includes 303,000 trucks in the U.S. and 67,000 in Canada and Mexico. All of the trucks involved have 4.3-liter or 5.3-liter engines. GM said eight fires have been reported, but no injuries. One garage was damaged, the company said. All of the incidents occurred in cold weather. The company is asking customers not to leave their trucks idling unattended. GM dealers will reprogram the software for free. The company will inform owners starting Jan. 16. The major recall announcement, which came on Saturday, marred the Silverado's winning of the 2014 North American Truck of the Year Award at the Detroit Auto Show on Monday. Was the C7 Corvette cut from Beyonce's Super Bowl halftime show?
Tue, 05 Feb 2013Someone was bound to receive a free 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray during the Super Bowl XLVII festivities; it just wasn't who we thought it was going to be. Despite a report back in December that superstar Beyoncé Knowles would be getting an all-new Corvette during her halftime performance, that turned out not to be the case. Joe Flacco, starting quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, did in fact win a Corvette for his MVP performance.
So what transpired that prevented Beyoncé from rolling on stage in the new Chevrolet? Anyone who knows isn't telling, but according to Yahoo! Autos, General Motors said that for one reason or another a deal "did not work out," and it appears to have been an eleventh-hour change. Regardless of who's to blame or what prevented this from happening, we're sure Chevy has had no problems getting attention for the C7 Corvette since it was introduced last month.
