This auction is for a 1972 Chevy Super Cheynne Half Ton Short Box Fleet Side 2 wheel Drive. It belongs to a good friend of mine who asked if I would list it for him. I will give you as much of a detailed description of the truck and what was done. To begin with the truck originally came from the Kentucky area. Has a real decent body and Chassis. Good solid and clean. The only thing I noticed is at one time both rocker panels were replaced. You can see the tack welds where they could have done a nicer cleaner job. Can be easily rectified. Also there are a couple of small bubbles on the very front of the pass door down low. Probably something from an older repair. Floors, frame, braces, etc in VERY nice condition. The paint job is not show quality but is just very respectable for a driver. The truck has a strong replacement 350 V-8 4 BBL (cammed out), has an Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Power Front Disc Brakes, Headers with Dual Exhaust all the way to the rear. 12 Bolt Rear. Factory Rally Wheels, 2 Tone Paint, Tinted Glass, Dual Outside Mirrors, Tilt Steering Wheel, Factory Air Conditioning (no belt so not sure of working condition). Custom Interior with Headliner. Guage Package with working factory Tach, Sliding Rear Window, rear Cargo Light, Front Bumper Guards and Chrome front and rear bumpers. Has an after market AM/FM Cassette and an incorrect steering wheel. The truck has 3 matching Pirelli tires but one odd tire on front. Over all the truck runs, drives and handles nicely. Ready to drive away. Perfect vehicle to put your finishing touches on. We have a clear Maine registration and all proper dealer paperwork for a smooth transaction. If you are the winning bidder we require a $500 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of auctions end. Balance to be paid in 3 days there after.Feel free to call or email should you need more info or pics 207-324-5568 days or 207-432-2862 eves and sundays

GM to restore legendary Corvette damaged in sinkhole accident
Fri, Dec 5 2014Car lover's hearts' sank when they saw images of bent and destroyed classic Corvettes at the bottom of a sinkhole last February after the floor of the National Corvette Museum gave way. General Motors announced Wednesday it would restore the one millionth Corvette ever produced to its former glory. The 1992 convertible was heavily damaged when a 40-foot deep sinkhole opened beneath a bevy of rare cars at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Since then, GM has been slowly restoring the classic cars, though five of the eight that caught in the sinkhole were determined to be too damaged to repair. This November, the 2009 Corvette ZR1 Blue Devil was the first car to be returned in mint condition to the Museum, according to Autoblog. It suffered significant damage but was still drivable after being pulled out of the debris. The one millionth Corvette is still in bad shape. The automaker is estimating six months worth of work to restore the car, which sustained paint scratches, rear-suspension damage and a mangled front fender. These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky
Fri, 24 Aug 2012It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).

Looking back at the Citation IV concept that likely shaped the GM EV1
Wed, Aug 20 2014Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. We're not sure how that applies to the GM EV1, but we'd still like to share something from Autoline Daily, an online automotive new show with our friend John McElroy. He's been covering the business for decades now and recently found something interesting: pictures of the 1984 Chevrolet Citation IV concept, seen above. Displayed half a decade before the first electric concept that would become the EV1 (inset), McElroy says it's now clear that the elegant, aerodynamic EV1 took a lot of styling cues from the Citation IV, which was developed in part thanks to GM's new-at-the-time Aerodynamics Laboratory. We agree with him that the spats over the rear wheels, the flush glass, and the covered headlights all bear a certain kind of similarity between the two cars. That the colors almost match is a nice coincidence. The Impact (the concept version of the EV1) looked "frumpier," McElroy says, because it wasn't as long as the Citation. You can read a lot more about the Citation IV here and check out McElroy's thoughts in the video below. Find the Citation starting at around 3:45. This content is hosted by a third party.
