1972 Chevrolet C-20, 2WD, Camper Special with original 402 big block and T400 automatic transmission. Factory AC. Non-tach dash. Power steering and brakes. Runs and drives fine with no engine smoking, minimal oil leaks, and no apparent transmission or rear end problems. Two tone brown and gold paint that was an older complete refinish from the original dark olive factory paint (which can be seen on the firewall).
Leaf spring rear end with front coil springs. Front disc brakes with rear drum brakes. 10 bolt rear differential. Factory inside cab gas tank and two side tanks. Interior is clean with a recovered seat, cracked dash pad, non working AC, later model steering wheel and what appears to be the original AM radio. All glass is reasonably good and not cracked. All chrome trim is in place but in only average to poor condition. Doors have not been cut for speakers. Rockers, cab corners and cab floor and floor supports are in good condition with no rust through areas visible. Fenders, doors, box sides and hood have no rust through areas. Exterior body panels have various dings and dents and some peeling clear coat. The right fender has a fairly good dent in the front and the cab roof has several golf ball size dents in it and the tailgate, although useable, is pretty much junk. The bed, metal floor is fairly wavy. The picture of the SPID label in the glove box indicates the truck's factory options and the left door ID label indicates a date of manufacture of 04/72. The left door jamb Vin Tag, the SPID label, the left door ID label and the clear Washington title all show the same VIN number. Do not have the original build sheet, but the original protecto plate is included. Originally a California truck sold through Lamb Chevrolet in National City, CA. Odometer and speedometer both function, but the miles indicated are most certainly over at least once. Delivery is the responsibility of the purchaser, and I will assist in any reasonable manner. I would not hesitate to drive this truck 300 miles or so. I might think about driving it across the country if I was looking for an adventure, but not otherwise. Any questions, please ask. |

GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC
Sun, 06 Oct 2013American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.
Peter Max staring down $1M lawsuit over Corvette collection sale
Wed, Dec 17 2014Pop artist Peter Max recently sold off his collection of 36 vintage Chevrolet Corvettes – one each from 1953 to 1989 – for an undisclosed amount. The new owners have already announced plans to restore some of them and auction the models off sometime soon. Up until then, the sports cars had been languishing in various garages around New York City for decades and were caked in dust and grime. However, Max's end of the transaction has just become more complicated, because two men are suing the artist claiming he employed them to complete the deal first. The men allege that Max hired them to broker the sale of the 36 Corvettes in exchange for a 10-percent commission, according to the New York Post. They claim to have emails and text messages proving the existence of the deal, and are taking Max to court for $1 million over the squabble. The collection of Corvettes was amassed in 1989 as part of a prize package from the television network VH1, and Max bought the cars from the winner intending on using them for an art project. He never got around to it, though, and parked the sports cars around New York, until he finally sold them over the summer.
GM's European Opel division may eventually go all-electric
Wed, Feb 15 2017General Motors' Opel division in Europe may transform itself into an all-electric vehicle maker by 2030. Granted, a lot can happen between now and then, including a potential buyout by French automaker PSA Group. Regardless, Opel appears to view its electric future beyond the Ampera-e, which is the sister vehicle to the Chevrolet Bolt, and more like Tesla. Opel CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann indicated that focusing on electric drivetrains would be a superior strategy to expanding its EV technology while pushing forward with conventional drivetrains, says Automotive News Europe, citing comments Neumann made to German publication Manager Magazin. General Motors could make the decision to move towards an all-electric vehicle line for Opel as soon as May. Of course, that depends on whether Opel is bought out by PSA, the parent country to Peugeot and Citroen. PSA is in talks to buy General Motors' Opel and Vauxhall divisions, though government and labor representatives in Germany have expressed concerns over potential job losses from the proposed buyout, Reuters says. Regardless, GM has hinted at expanding its electric-vehicle line far beyond the Bolt, which has a 238-mile single-charge range and debuted late last year. Mary Barra, in an interview with CNET, said the Bolt's all-electric platform could be applied to a "huge range of vehicles," though wasn't specific about additional EV models. Opel first showed off its Ampera-e at the Paris Motor Show last fall. The name of the model raised some eyebrows because the Ampera badge had been previously used by Opel for the sister version of the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in. Either way, Opel is looking to take on Renault for electric-vehicle sales supremacy across the Pond. Related Video:
