1972 Chevrolet C-10 Custom 350 V8 Th400 Auto Ps Pb Original on 2040-cars
Concordia, Kansas, United States
Up for sale is a nice, complete and original 1972 Chevy C-10 Custom with power brakes and power steering. The odometer shows 23,700, the title says mileage exempt – odometer not working, but it works fine. This C-10 runs and drives great. It has a remanufactured 350 V8 backed by a TH400 automatic transmission. There has been over $2300 worth of tune up and mechanical work done to this truck, all receipts for this work are included. The engine runs great, does not smoke. The transmission shifts firm through all gears and works as it should. It has coil spring suspension with new shocks on all four corners. All steering components are in good shape and it was just aligned. The brakes are in good shape and work as they should. The front tires are 95% and 65% in the rear. The Interior is in pretty good shape and everything is original except for the steering wheel. The seat has some cracks in the vinyl. The heater works good. All of the glass is good. The body of the truck is in pretty good shape. It does have some minor rust and a few small dings and dents. As far as rust goes the front right fender has a couple rust holes in the lower front tip, the cab corners and inner rockers do have a little bit, the all of the cab supports except for the right front do have some rust, the rear wheel wells have some rust that has been patched on with some bondo, the bed floor has a small spot in each rear corner, the doors have a couple paint bubbles in the lower corners, there is no rust above the windshield. As far as dents go there is a small dent on the left front fender in front of the tire, there are two dents in the right side bed side the front on is minor, the rear one has been patched on with some bondo, and there is one small dent in the lower center part of the tailgate. The rear dent in the right bedside and the rear wheel wells are the only spots of bondo that I have found on this truck. Overall it is a very nice original truck. This truck has a clean and clear Missouri title. I have tried to get the best pictures and describe this truck accurately the best I can. If you would like to come see this truck in person just let me know and we can make arrangements to do so. Payment will be cash in person unless other arrangements are made prior to sale. If you have any questions about the truck feel free to ask. I could possibly deliver the truck to you for $1.00 a mile one-way within 300 miles. Otherwise, you are responsible for picking it up. This truck is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end listing at any time. This truck is being sold as-is, no warranty. Please feel free to make an offer the worst I could say is no. Thanks for looking. |

First 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 engine blows up at just 891 miles
Thu, Jan 1 2015You've waited and watched and waited some more for the arrival of your 650-horsepower, $78,000 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Finally, that joyous day arrives and you eagerly, but gingerly, begin to break-in the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 monster under your hood. Then 900-odd miles after delivery, your excitement grinds, quite literally, to a halt. That's what the owner of one 2015 Z06 claimed happened to him when a simple break-in drive resulted in a lunched engine. The owner, known as Lawdogg149 on Corvette Forum, says he was out breaking-in his car ahead of a January track event when it happened. "While making a pull from 35 miles per hour, I accelerated and shifted short of redline, and boom - the car began knocking. I pulled over and popped the hood. I could hear a loud knock coming from the No. 6 cylinder area along with a serious, grinding, metal-on-metal sound coming from the supercharger area," Lawdogg wrote. A subsequent trip to the dealer confirmed his concerns, with the service facility telling Lawdogg that the No. 6 valvetrain had failed. The dealer couldn't research the issue further, though, as General Motors requested the engine be returned for a more thorough evaluation. The good news for the Z06's unlucky owner, at least, is that GM will be covering the engine replacement under warranty, an expense that Corvette Forum estimates is a nearly $24,000 procedure. At this point, the two leading theories behind the engine's detonation involve a manufacturing defect – which could be why GM is so keen to tear the blown powerplant down – or a mistake on the part of Lawdogg. As Motor Authority points out, such an error could be something as simple as the Z06's owner accidentally shifting to first rather than third during his 35-mph pull. If, however, there's a deeper manufacturing problem with the Z06's engine, this might not be the only case we end up hearing about.
2016 Chevy Volt powertrain video teasers
Fri, Oct 31 2014If there's one thing we've learned about plug-in vehicle fans, you have a thing for seeing your cars get made. The series of videos showing BMW i3 production was strangely popular, as were the shots from inside the VW e-Golf plant. Well, with General Motors pulling the veil off of the 2016 Chevy Volt this week, it's time to take a peek at the production process for that vehicle as well. You're welcome. Up first we've got a clip from CNN Money showing a little bit about how the new Volt's new battery pack and other powertrain components are made. Those of you who are trying to read the lithium tea leaves and see if the new shape reveals that the 2016 Volt will have five seats might want to check it out. Then we've got two clips from GM itself, one showing an animation about the updated Voltec powertrain and another with some B Roll of the old Volt. Since GM doesn't want us to see the new car quite yet, we'll have to enjoy this for now. Watch below. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Recharge Wrap-up: Chevy Volt class action suit proposed, Tesla stock could outperform in 2015
Sat, Dec 27 2014A class action suit has been proposed against General Motors for a steering problem in the Chevrolet Volt. The plaintiffs claim that a defect can cause the steering to freeze intermittently, and that General Motors either knows or should have known about the problem. The case, filed in New Jersey, also claims that defective parts are replaced with the same or similar parts, which are also defective. The plaintiffs say that claims for the 100-plus-member class exceed $5 million. Read more at Law360 or at BigClassAction. Tesla Motors stock (TSLA) has risen after weeks of losses. It gained 5.4 percent during the week ending December 19, when it closed at $219.29 per share. Since then, it rose slightly more, closing at $222.26 on December 24. Morgan Stanley lowered its target price on Tesla stock from $320 to $290, predicting lower sales on the upcoming Model III than expected before, but still called Tesla a good long-term investment. Analysts at CNBC predicted Tesla to be the best performing stock of 2015. Read more at ETF Daily News. Oslo- and New York-based architecture firm Snohetta has designed a zero-emissions house that also charges an electric car. The ZEB Pilot House, built in Larvik, Norway, uses a solar panel on the roof to power the house, which also provides enough excess energy to charge an EV. To make the most of energy most efficiently, the house uses smart technology to use as much energy as it can once it's harvested. This means one can turn on appliances like the washing machine remotely while the sun is at the optimum angle in the sky - perhaps during mid-day when the residents are at work. The house also uses organic materials and is designed to save as much energy as possible. Read more at Wired.
