1971 Chevy Truck Short Bed Fleetside C10 Custom Deluxe on 2040-cars
Windsor, California, United States
1971 Chevy Truck Custom Deluxe. Short bed Fleetside. 12 Bolt Posi 3.08, TH350, 307 V8 with quite a few miles on it. Runs good, reliable daily driver. Power Disc 5 lug stock. Nice solid driver truck. Not rusty but passenger front fender should be replaced or patched behind wheel well (silver dollar size rust). Everything else is solid. I am testing the waters, so if you are interested and a serious buyer please call to discuss particulars. I have a GM Performance H.O. 350 (Crate motor)- P.N.- 19210008 and a rebuilt TH350 w/TCI Saturday Night Special Converter & Shift Kit I bought to put in truck that can be purchased separately for $2000 (cost $5000+). I just lowered truck with CPP dropped spindles, dropped springs front and rear, CPP Shocks front and rear, and CPP adjustable track bar. New brakes front and rear, new bearings front, and serviced the rear end. New OEM Rally wheels with custom offset on rear from Stockton wheel. New trim rings, NOS rally center caps, and alignment so brand new BFG Radials 275 rear 255 front wear correctly (about 300 miles on tires). Restored Gauges and Bezel will come with truck, A set of very nice dark green OEM seat belts will come with it, and Green Corvette Steering Wheel was added. I replaced original AM radio with an original AM/FM Delco Radio that is correct for 71 Chevy Trucks. Bed is desirable steel floor and in very good condition. Some other pieces have been added or replaced but we can discuss that if you are a serious buyer. All lights, blinkers, heater, defroster, gauges, etc. work as they should. I drive it daily about 26 miles to work and back, rides good, not bouncy, handles good, starts always, sounds good but I plan to put new exhaust if I keep it. Buy it and drive it home. It is a solid drivable 71 (42-43 year old) Chevy truck that you can drive as you restore and is only climbing in value. This is a truck you can put 10K into and you wouldn't lose a dime or just use it and enjoy driving an original classic that you and others can appreciate, plus it is a great looking body style that stands out anywhere you take it.
$11,000 is the price or I will just happily keep it...... Jason at 707 837 5580 no calls after 9pm CA time please. More pics available, please only request pics if you are a serious buyer, thanks. |

Netflix to feature electric cars from GM and others in programming
Sun, Feb 5 2023LOS ANGELES — Netflix has unveiled a new star for some of its upcoming programming: electric vehicles from General Motors and other automakers. The streaming service announced an agreement on Thursday to feature vehicles including the Chevrolet Bolt, the electric GMC Hummer pickup and the Cadillac Lyriq in TV series and films "where relevant." The companies will highlight the partnership in a commercial featuring Will Ferrell that will air during the Feb. 12 Super Bowl. Netflix and GM called the agreement "part of a commitment to a more sustainable future." Financial terms were not disclosed. Netflix said it will help creators "better understand how EVs can complement and enhance their stories." Shows that will feature GM's electric vehicles include "Love is Blind," "Queer Eye" and "Unstable." Netflix productions also will include electric vehicles made by other automakers, the company said. GM, UAW poaching Nissan workers in Tennessee
Tue, Sep 8 2015General Motors and the United Auto Workers are going on a recruitment drive at the Spring Hill factory in Tennessee, and they're hoping to poach some skilled workers from Nissan's nearby plant in Smyrna, TN. The General and the union even bought a billboard advertising for industrial electricians near the Japanese automaker's facility, according to the Daily News Journal. The reason for the billboard was simple. "GM was short of electricians," said Tim Stannard, the president of the UAW local at Spring Hill, to the Daily News Journal. The factory currently builds the Chevrolet Equinox but has a contract to assemble the next generation of Ecotec engines and the Cadillac XT5, which replaces the SRX. Thanks to the $185-million deal, employment there is expected to double by May 2016, according to Stannard, with roughly 1,800 additional union jobs. Beyond just several billboards, GM has job postings online for the Spring Hill plant looking for workers with specific skills. There has already been some interest in the positions among Nissan employees, Stannard indicated. According to a recent study by the Center for Automotive Research, the average GM worker currently makes $58 an hour, including benefits. Comparatively, Nissan pays an average of $42 an hour with benefits. The General's number could change in the coming weeks because its contract with the UAW is about to expire, and higher wages are among the major negotiating points.
Plug In 2014: VIA makes the case for 'free' plug-in hybrid work vans, trucks
Fri, Aug 1 2014If you're a fleet manager who's been waiting anxiously for the chance to buy a plug-in hybrid van from Via Motors, your wait is almost over. If you work for the right fleet, anyway. David West, the chief marketing efficer for VIA Motors, took AutoblogGreen for a ride around the San Jose Convention Center in a Via van sporting an Electric Blue paint job as part of the Plug In 2014 Conference this week and gave us an update on how things are coming along. The big news is that the Via PHEV van production is going to start by the end of September. Via can currently build two vans an hour at its production plant in Mexico, or about 16 a day and could easily double that. "That would get us to 20,000 a year with two full lines running," West said. "We have the capacity." "There is no way gas can compete with electric." – David West, Via Motors But they can't sell that many quite yet. By the end of December, around 350 Vans will be made, mostly for a $20-million program from the Department of Energy (DOE) and the South Coast Air Quality Management District that will see the vehicles used by fleets that will report energy data to the Idaho National Lab. Via is also finishing up CARB certification for both the van and the company's plug-in hybrid pick-up truck. About 50 percent of Via's technology in the truck will not need to be tested again, since it's the same as what's in the van, but things like crash tests will need to be done twice. Despite the progress, this is not where Via hoped it would be today. The bankruptcy of battery supplier A123, "took about a year off our timeline," West said. "It's been getting a little slow getting it to market, there have been some challenges, particuarly since we had the country's worst recession right in the middle of this wrap up, but it's inevitable in my mind. There is no way gas can compete with electric." Maybe that's why FedEx has expressed an interest in buying around 5,000 units, West said. FedEx already has some pilot vehicles, just like Verizon does, and PG&E wants to replace all of their gas trucks with electric vehicles, which would be another 3,000 sales, he said. Besides the fuel savings, vehicles like these, with easy on-site power generation, could also work wonders in post-disaster situations, he said, since they could replace the need for generators.
