1971 Chevy C10 Pickup Short Bed 5.3 Ls Motor Swap Ac Patina Lowered All New on 2040-cars
Cape Girardeau, Missouri, United States
WELL, HERE IT IS, ONE OF THE COOLEST AND UNIQUE TRUCKS IVE EVER OWNED IS UP FOR SALE. ITS A 1971 CHEVY C10 2WD PICKUP THAT HAS BEEN TOTALLY REWORKED FROM THE GROUND UP. ILL START BY SAYING THIS TRUCK IS NO THROWN TOGETHER CHEAP BUILD. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN DONE RIGHT PROFESSIONALLY AND ONLY WITH HIGH END PARTS. I HAVE A THICK BINDER FULL OF EVERYTHING DONE TO THE TRUCK. I BOUGHT IT A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO AND THE TRUCK WAS MATTE BLACK AND HAD ALREADY RECEIVED THE 5.3 LS MOTOR AND 4L60E TRANSMISSION SWAP OUT OF A NEWER TAHOE, AS WELL AS A COMPLETE OVERHAUL OF THE SUSPENSION AND STEERING COMPONENTS USING CPP PARTS, AND THE FUEL TANK HAD BEEN MOVED TO THE REAR BELOW THE BED WITH A CUSTOM FILLER IN THE BED. THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD INSTALLED THE 69-70 GRILL, WHICH I LIKED, SO I KEPT IT ON. I QUICKLY MADE UP MY MIND THAT I WANTED TO GO WITH A PATINA PAINT JOB. IT TOOK ME WEEKS OF SANDING AND TWEAKING TO GET THE RIGHT LOOK I WAS GOING AFTER AND THEN HAD A PAINT SHOP SPRAY A COAT OF SATIN CLEAR OVER THE WHOLE BODY OF THE TRUCK. THEN I ADDED THE BODY SIDE MOLDINGS TO FINISH OFF THE "FACTORY" OLD LOOK I WAS GOING FOR. AFTER GETTING THE EXTERIOR ALL LINED OUT I MOVED TO THE INTERIOR. THE POWERED BUCKET SEATS WERE ALREADY IN THE TRUCK WHEN I BOUGHT IT BUT THEY WERE A GRAY CLOTH, WHICH I DIDNT REALLY CARE FOR TO MUCH. SO, I HAD THEM REUPHOLSTERED IN BLACK LEATHER WITH HOUNDSTOOTH INSERTS. I PUT IN NEW BLACK CARPET AND A SET OF LMC KICK PANELS. THEN I TOOK IT TO A STEREO SHOP AND THEY INSTALLED A KILLER SOUND SYSTEM. I THEN REALIZED THIS TRUCK WAS GOING TO NEED AC, SO I PURCHASED AND INSTALLED THE NEWEST VINTAGE AIR SETUP. I FINISHED UP THE INTERIOR AND JUST ENJOYED THE TRUCK. ITS A BLAST TO DRIVE WHETHER ITS IN TOWN OR ON THE INTERSTATE DOING 75 MPH. EVERYTHING WORKS ON THE TRUCK, INCLUDING ALL LIGHTS AND CUSTOM CARBON FIBER GAUGES. THE TIRES ARE LIKE NEW AND THE WHEELS ARE BLACK POWDERCOATED STEEL WHEELS. THE MOTOR HAS AN LS6 CAM WITH CHROME HEADERS WHICH MAKES FOR A KILLER SOUND. I CANT GO ANYWHERE WITHOUT SOMEONE COMING UP TO ME ASKING ABOUT THE TRUCK. I WILL DEFINITELY MISS THIS TRUCK WHEN ITS GONE BUT I JUST BOUGHT MY NEWEST PROJECT, A 1969 CHEVY C10 SHORT BED 4X4, SO UNFORTUNATELY THIS ONE HAS TO GO.
GIVE ME A CALL IF YOU ARE INTERESTED. I WILL BE GLAD TO TAKE ANY OTHER PICTURES OF EVEN A VIDEO FOR SERIOUS BUYERS. MY NUMBER IS 573-587-1159 |

Nissan Leaf ends 2013 with best sales month ever, but can't catch Chevy Volt
Fri, Jan 3 2014Nissan and Chevrolet both ended 2013 with solid sales figures for their plug-in vehicles, the first two that were released (all the way back at the end of 2010) from major automakers. As has been the story for most of 2013, December sales for the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt were roughly the same. When we left the year-to-date running tally at the end of November, the Volt was at 20,702, while the Leaf was at 20,080. As you can tell from the image above (if you've been noticing the trend in these EV sales monthly flash-reports), the Leaf outsold the Volt, but was it enough to put the Nissan on top for the year? In 2013, Nissan sold 22,610 Leafs, more than twice as many as in 2012. Almost. The Leaf made a valiant attempt, and did have its best month ever with 2,529 units sold. That means that for 2013, Nissan moved a total of 22,610 Leafs, more than twice as many as in 2012 (that year, Nissan sold only 9,819 Leafs in the US) and actually more than 2012 and 2011 Leaf sales combined (which was 19,493). Nissan continues to see the effects of its price drop and expanded sales areas, with Georgia rapidly becoming a Leaf hotbed. Nissan's Paige Presley said that Atlanta was once again the Leaf's number one market and that, "sales are expanding deeper into Georgia markets such as Macon and Columbus." The Volt saw a boost upwards from a November slump and sold 2,392 units in December. That puts the plug-in hybrid's annual total at 23,094, just down from the 23,461 sold in 2012. For all of 2013, though, the Volt outsold the Leaf by 484 vehicles. In a competition like this, we'll count that as a win for both sides. We will our more detailed monthly green car sales report, which covers more of the fuel efficient vehicles on the market, up soon. Junkyard Gem: 1986 Chevrolet Sprint Plus
Fri, Jun 16 2023General Motors sold second- and third-generation Suzuki Cultuses with Geo or Chevrolet Metro badging in the United States from 1989 through 2001 model years, and we've all seen plenty of those cars on the street over the years. The first-generation Cultus was sold here as well, with Chevrolet Sprint badges, and I've found a rare example of the Sprint five-door hatchback in a Northern California car graveyard. The Chevy Sprint first appeared on the West Coast as a 1985 model, then became available everywhere in the United States for the 1986 through 1988 model years (in Canada, it was sold as the Pontiac Firefly). It was available here as a hatchback with three or five doors; for 1986 only, the five-door was badged as the Sprint Plus. Soon enough, The General would be selling many more Asian-built cars with Detroit badges here. Isuzu I-Marks were sold as Chevrolet/Geo Spectrums starting in the 1986 model year, while Daewoo provided the Pontiac LeMans two years later. Under the hood, a 1.0-liter three-cylinder rated at 48 horsepower. The five-door Sprint cost $5,580 in 1986, which was $200 more than the three-door (those prices would be $15,445 and $14,891 in 2023 dollars). I've documented seven discarded Sprints prior to this one (including an extremely rare Turbo Sprint), and all of them were three-doors; we can assume that price was the most important factor for Sprint buyers. Gasoline prices were crashing hard during the middle 1980s, but memories of gas lines and odd-even-day fuel rationing from 1979 remained strong. What cars competed with the '86 Sprint on sticker price? Well, there was no way to undercut the hilariously affordable (and terrible) Yugo GV, which cost $3,990. The much bigger (but still pretty bad) Hyundai Excel listed at $4,995, while Toyota would sell you a sturdy (but zero-fun) Tercel starting at $5,448. Even the wretched Chevy Chevette — yes, it was still available in 1986 — cost $5,645. The original buyer of this car was willing to shell out an extra $395 to get an automatic instead of the base five-speed manual. That's about $1,093 in today's money. This car must have been slow. By the end, the doors were held shut with duct tape, but it still stayed alive until age 37. 53 miles per gallon on the highway! It does everything. The camels of the highway.
Here are 12 electric pickups in the works
Wed, Oct 21 2020With the unveiling of the GMC Hummer EV, the list of planned electric pickups is expanding. Legacy automakers like Ford and Chevy have theirs coming, as do startups like Tesla, Rivian and Bollinger, as well as some lesser known brands. Here are all the electric pickup trucks we know to be in the works, along with a few that are being discussed or mulled over. GMC Hummer EV The 2022 GMC HUMMER EV is a first-of-its kind supertruck develop View 40 Photos We’ve seen it now, and itÂ’s the business. The GMC Hummer EV comes out swinging with 1,000 horsepower from GMÂ’s new Ultium electric powertrain program, a wealth of off-road features, a removable roof, Super Cruise and the revival of the Hummer name. WeÂ’ll see the first ones on the road next fall. Tesla Cybertruck Tesla Cybertruck at the Petersen Museum View 14 Photos Tesla revealed the Cybertruck last year with, ahem, unique styling, a number of powertrain options and a claimed range of up to 500 miles. It has a compressed paper dash, a ramp for the bed, and “shatterproof” windows. It has already racked up hundreds of thousands of reservations. It will be built in Texas. Rivian R1T 2021 Rivian R1T View 15 Photos EV startup Rivian revealed its R1T electric pickup toward the end of 2018 with a claimed 0-60 time of 3 seconds and a towing capability of 11,000 pounds. Preproduction began in September 2020 at RivianÂ’s factory in Normal, Illinois. Bollinger Motors B2 Bollinger Motors B2 side outdoors View 31 Photos BollingerÂ’s B2 electric pickup is a Class 3 off-roader with retro styling, removable roof panels, and a unique “frunkgate” with a pass-through down the center of the vehicle. It was created with both enthusiasts and workers in mind, with features that can get it to remote places (portal axles, hydro-pneumatic suspension) and to get things done (room for 40 2x4s, equipped with eight 110-volt outlets and one 220-volt outlet). Bollinger also plans to make the B2 Chassis Cab available for fleet customization. Ford F-150 Electric Electric Ford F-150 Towing View 9 Photos WeÂ’ve known this to be in the works since early 2019. Since then, details have trickled out. Back in June, Ford announced its F-150 Electric would be coming within two years. WeÂ’ve seen it pull a million pounds worth of train and trucks, heard it will have more power than any other F-150, and seen its LED-laden front end.
