As far as C10's go, this is pretty much the holy grail of originality and low mileage when it comes to these trucks. This is my 1971 Chevy C10 short bed. It is a very amazing survivor that started its life in AZ where it was sold new at Lou Grubb Chevrolet in Phoenix AZ, and made its way to CA later in life, all the while only covering 41,000 miles in the process! Yes thats correct, 41,000 miles. The truck still wears its original white paint all over with just the drivers front fender having been touched up at some point, but no damage or bodywork is evident on it. The paint still has a great shine to it and the inside is factory mint everywhere! On the tail gate the original dealership decal is still there and intact as you can see in the photo. I have a copy of the original title for this truck as well! When I got the truck, the original wheels were still wearing their factory fitted bias ply tires and there was a lot of life left on them, again, further evidence of a low mileage, well taken care of truck. This truck was a special order. The majority of white trucks made by Chevy were long beds and this is a short bed, but the best part is that this truck was special ordered with a blue interior instead of the standard and very common black. This is in fact the only white on blue short bed I have ever seen and after talking with many experts, none of them have seen another legitimate, documented short bed like this either. All of this makes for a very special truck, mostly due to its condition, but the great color combo really pushes it over the top as well.
Again, this is an original paint truck and the paint is in great shape. There is one spot of rust on the drivers side cab corner under the gas tank, which is the most common spot. as well as a smaller one on the passenger side cab corner under the tank. What is uncommon is that this truck has no rust anywhere else. It is the most solid, dry truck I have ever seen. The door hinges has no play in them, no sag, no droop, nothing. The doors line up like factory and close with one finger with a solid clunk like new. Most everything is still nice and tight on this truck because it has not been played with ever. The hood has some nice patina to it where you can see the black factory primer coming through as seen in the photos. The drip rails are laser straight, no rust, and the bed is MINT! The truck had a camper shell on it so it saved the bed from being dented up and warped. This bed is so nice and the paint still shines in there as you can see in the photos. Inside the truck has been cleaned up and renewed where needed. The seat cover is new and has a nice factory blue with houndstooth factory cover. The carpet is original blue in color and a new blue steering wheel was installed. The original patina'd steering wheel comes with the truck as well in case you want to swap it back on. The dash has a factory Tach in it that is hooked up and works as it should. All glass is nice and clear with no chips or cracks. Its really an awesome place to sit and enjoy the truck. As you can see, the inside is really beautiful and the dash build tag is still on the glove box lid as you can see in the photo. This truck is an inline 6 cyl engine truck with a floor shifted 4 speed. The motor runs flawlessly cruises right along. One pump on the gas pedal and it fires up on the first try every time. The motor has been left totally stock, just tuned up with plugs, wires and an HEI distributor. Also there is a new Aluminum radiator with an electric fan for worry free cool cruising, but the original fan is included with the truck as well if you want to go back to stock. The motor is untouched original, and although it would have been easy to pull the motor and paint it, I have decided to leave it alone. you can see the factory Chevy orange on the motor and valve cover is still there. I will include a can of high temp chevy orange paint if you decide you want to pull and repaint the motor. That decision is up to the new owner. Trans is all stock. I rebuilt the shift linkage and it works buttery smooth now with perfect pedal pressure and easy shifts. The carb is rebuilt and works great. Even the exhaust is totally stock and original with the factory muffler in place so this truck runs nice and quiet as it should be. The original air cleaner is included with the truck as well as the one on it here in the photos. I would not hesitate to drive this truck anywhere! I actually do drive it all over, many 3 hour plus trips and it drives great and issue free! Now on to the cool stuff! This truck is set up RIGHT! It has all new CPP suspension. Up front it has CPP drop spindles, disc brakes, and 3 inch drop springs with CPP shocks. Also it has the CPP shock strengthening mounts to keep them sitting nice and solid. All front end bushings and tie rods, ends and ball joints are new! Out back the truck has CPP springs, shocks, shock mounts, super track bar, CPP bolt in C notches and 2 inch drop block so the truck has a 5.5 front and 7 inch rear drop. Rear brakes are new too along with bearings all around! This baby rides so smooth that you forget it is a truck. It feels like a nice big American Cadillac going down the road. It has been expertly aligned so you can point it down the road, take your hands off the wheel and it stays straight as an arrow down the road. How many other trucks can you do that in? Wheels are new American Racing Torq Thrust D spoke wheels with new tires with under 600 miles on them. They sit great under this truck and the best part is NO rubbing, no scuffing, no dragging. Like I said, this truck is set up right, well thought out, and dialed in so you can drive it anywhere. This is the most amazing C10 I have ever seen. Original paint, super low miles, totally dialed in and ready to be enjoyed. It sits right, rides right and will only become more valuable. There are a sea of restored, repainted, customized C10's out there but original trucks only come along so often. Its rare to find one this good, this solid and this original with this much attitude! This truck has the look! If you are searching for a C10 this one is hard to fault. Do not miss this chance to own one of the best custom C10's out there, hands down! I am not interested in trades, please do not offer. If you want the truck before the auction ends, shoot me an offer. I have a number in mind, but its not a 4 digit number so keep that in mind before you email. This truck is sold as is where is, with no warranties expressed or implied. It is the responsibility of the bidder to inspect or have inspected the truck before bidding. Payment must clear before the truck leaves. Thanks and happy bidding! |

Chevy Volt owners log half a billion electric miles, 2015 production starts
Thu, Jun 19 2014As General Motors gets ready to start 2015 Volt production Monday, Chevrolet is looking back at some of the numbers that got the car to where it is today. The headline number is that Volt owners have collectively put more than a half-billion electric miles on their cars. The unsurprising upshot is that, if you went out and bought a Volt, you're pretty keen on getting as many electric miles out of it as possible. 90 percent of all Volt trips are done purely on electric power. The typical Volt driver goes 970 miles between fill-ups, GM says, and that means that 63 percent of all miles are done on battery power. General Motors executive director Larry Nitz gave AutoblogGreen a few more details on the usage habits of Volt drivers, including that 81 percent of commuting miles are electric. Two-thirds of US Volt drivers charge their vehicle 1.4 times a day, a clear indicator of drivers trying to maximize electric miles through opportunity charging. In fact, Nitz said, 90 percent of all Volt trips are done purely on electric power. GM also says that the Volt's official 35 miles of electric range is still doable for many owners who have had their car for more than 30 months. Looking ahead, we know that one upgrade for the 2015 Volt will be 4G LTE connectivity that can turn the car, like others in the GM family, into a mobile wifi hotspot. We're of course much more interested in when GM is finally going to start production of the next-gen Volt, but GM officials would only tell us that they're very excited about the still-secret vehicle, promising we'll be learning more "soon." Nitz did confirm that today's Volt drivers are most interested in three things from the next-gen model: more range, a lower price and a fifth seat. He did not say whether or not GM will be able to deliver on those requests. Chevrolet Volt Owners Surpass Half a Billion Electric Miles After 30 months of use, a sampling of Volts shows consistent all-electric range 2014-06-19 DETROIT – Since its launch in late 2010, Chevrolet Volt owners have accumulated more than half a billion all-electric miles. Additionally, based on a General Motors' study of more than 300 Volts in service in California for more than 30 months, many owners are exceeding the EPA-rated label of 35 miles of EV range per full charge, with about 15 percent surpassing 40 miles of range.
Chevy Corvette Stingray picks up another award, this time from Automobile
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year.
Automobile's award to the Corvette over competitors is the mirror image of its rival Motor Trend, which named the Cadillac CTS its car of the year over the C7. The CTS was, according to the Automobile team, the closest contender to the mighty Stingray. Great news all around for General Motors it seems.
As for what pushed the Corvette past its distant, four-door cousin, Automobile commended its excellent, 6.2-liter V8 calling the car's performance "simply awesome" while also remarking that it is easier to drive fast than ever before thanks to steering and chassis tweaks. Following a theme set by other publications, there were also plaudits for the interior, of all things, with the buff book complimenting the car's ergonomics and material quality, while also praising the standard seats.
Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.
