1970 Chevy c 10 shortbed. If your looking for a truck that will be sought after when your hard work is done here it is. This truck is 99% percent rust free. I put this truck back together so it will be easy to load and transport. It has been apart for awhile and im not able to finish it. The bed has been blasted some pin holes in tailgate but solid it does have dents but its 43 years old. The frame was cleaned and painted but has got dirty from sitting and scratched. It has been changed to 5 lug with disc brakes. The hood has been blasted it has one pin hole. The cab has had rockers a patch in the floor and cab corner also inner rocker repair very super nice job no under coat hiding this check out the pics. The firewall has been smoothed again very nice job was going to go vintage heat and air but never got that far. Gas neck has been shaved again nice job but do have factory tank if you prefer to return. Truck has been lowered also has another new set of lower springs that come with it and a pair of shocks. The doors are very nice bench seat is still good for its age need cover. Has rally wheels wanted to put a LS engine in this truck but never got that far. I did sit a 1972 402 big block that ive had saved for a few years it was last run in a 4 speed car and ran good I bolted a turbo 350 trans to it i didnt have a auto flywheel this transmission pulled great when i pulled but i noticed water coming out of it when i put it in the truck its been in my garage so who knows how it got in there. Just look at the engine and trans as extras. Has headers. What you see in the pics is all i have i know the inner fenders and windshield are missing they were bad you will find things missing but they repop everything for these trucks. The plus is this truck is so solid and deserves to be built. Ive been watching these trucks bring around 30k at collector auctions and this one can do it for sure. Comes with new window regulators has a 4 core radiator power steering box. I also have steel brake lines pre bent for this truck from front to back im going to throw in. I have not been able to find the driveshaft but im going to keep looking for it no garuntee.  This truck was a Alabama truck all of its life. I have the protecto plate when it was bought new and the bill of sale when it was sold to the second owner. This will make a great truck in the right hands has a super nice frame. I transferred this truck into my name today and ordered a speed title so the KY title should be back before this auction ends. Call or text Billy 270-564-3996 Buyer must send deposit within 48 hours of auctions end. Full balance must be paid within 7 days of auctions end. Will work with buyer on pick up as much as possible and storage within reason but vehicle must be paid for in full. If you send a cashiers check it must clear before truck leaves if picked up in person then cash only unless a check has already cleared. Please ask questions if you hvae 0 feedback you need to talk to me first i reserve the right to cancel bids. This truck will sell no/reserve regardless of what it brings. I have over 7000 in it myself and it cost 50 bucks just to list it so please serious bidders only. This will be a super nice truck finished and is very solid and the doors shut with ease. I have a 68 shortbed that im finishing up that has all new panels and it is not near the truck this one is going to be. Good luck and happy bidding.

Chevy up to old EVs-equal-range-anxiety tricks in new Volt Olympics ad

Fri, Feb 14 2014

General Motors is at it again with a new Chevrolet Volt TV commercial. Viewers of the Winter Olymics (at least in some markets) recently saw a TV ad in between the skating and the skiing that made no mention of the environmental benefits or freedom from the power of Big Oil that electric vehicles provide. No, this one was based on pure survival instinct. In the video, a father is driving down a highway, perhaps through the Mojave Desert. His young son is sitting in the Volt's backseat and asks what happens when the EV's battery runs out. "We'll have to cross that burning desert with snakes and cactus until we make it back to civilization," the dad tells his son as they pass the skeleton of a fallen bull. The fine print makes it clear that the actual maximum range is 342 miles. But there is hope. The father tells his son, with a beaming smile on his face, that the gas generator has kicked in and they're going to make it through the desert. As they wend their way to the horizon, a voice over says that Volt drivers who charge up regularly are making it 900 miles between fill ups. The fine print makes it clear that the actual official maximum range before you need to either plug in or fill up is 342 miles. This theme that emphasized range anxiety has been utilized by GM since the extended range Volt was launched in late 2010, despite the fact that Chevrolet now offers an all-electric vehicle in the Spark EV. Volt fans are praising the commercial, called The New Freedom, on the GM-Volt forum and you can see for yourself below. This content is hosted by a third party. Watch Evo pick its 2015 Car of the Year in this epic video

Mon, Dec 7 2015

With just a few days left in 2015, it's the perfect time to check out Evo's annual Car of the Year test to determine the greatest performance vehicle of the last 12 months. The writers' picks for the 11 finalists spanned a breadth of engaging models and included: Peugeot 208 GTi by Peugeot Sport, Lamborghini Aventador SV, Seat Leon Cupra Sub8, McLaren 675LT, Porsche 991 GT3 RS, Porsche Cayman GT4, Honda Civic Type R, Ferrari 488 GTB, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, Lotus Evora 400, and Mercedes-AMG GT S. For the venue to test the mettle of these performance machines, Evo stuck close to home this year and visited the twisting roads at the beautiful north coast of Scotland. Racing brothers Marino and Dario Franchitti also came along for the ride to provide two more voices in the competitive challenge to determine a winner. Evo's video explains why each model deserves to be among such rarified company but doesn't gloss over their faults either. There can be only one winner, though. We don't want to spoil it, so check out the clip for magnificent views of these performance machines through the Scottish countryside.

Anti-purist 1963 Ferrari GTE sports hot rod Chevy V8

Thu, Oct 8 2015

I remember reading a story around the time Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift came out. It focused on one of the star cars of that film, a 1967 Ford Mustang fastback that started the film as a shell, and in a pinch, was transformed into a modified masterpiece, complete with the RB26DETT engine from a Nissan Skyline GT-R (which started the film under the hood of an S15 Silvia). There was a genuine (and in our minds, absurd) fear in the article that taking a piece of classic American iron and fitting a twin-turbocharged JDM engine would result in some awful trend in the classic car community. If you thought a GT-R-powered classic Mustang was sacrilege, though, this car will probably make you vomit. For the rest of us, it's a neat piece of engineering. Shown above is a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTE, and yes, that's a 302-cubic-inch, small-block Chevrolet V8 under the hood. On top of that, it uses the six-speed manual transmission from a Viper, a nine-inch Ford rear end, and Mitsubishi-sourced paint. So yeah, it's a FrankenFerrari. Check out Road Heads' interview with this custom GTE's owner, which is followed by a brief test drive. And of course, head into Comments afterwards, and let us know what you think. Is this Yankee-powered 250 GTE blasphemous or badass?
