Northwest Classics proudly presents another rust free classic truck. This 1970 chevy c-10 has the rare CST package. (custom sport truck). It is rust free meaning it has no cancer holes. It does as you can see from the pics have some small amount of surface rust but very minimal. I got this truck from a mechanic who has been in the car business for 40+ years. (half of which he owned the truck) He is finally retiring and moving to the middle of no where and will no longer have a garage to keep extra autos in. He has taken very good care of his baby. He was the 2nd owner and kept it up in tip top shape. In saying that he did use the truck as a truck, and you can see by the bed he didn't use it to haul wood or rocks but parts that gave her some scratches but left it dent free. This truck is a perfect example of a number #3. A nice survivor that can pick up for a long drive at any time with a great interior.

Paint and body- There are little scratches and dents on the truck that you can see in the pics. I did nothing to this truck but wash it. I took pics in the sun and shade so you could get a true look at this CST in both lighting conditions. I took over 100 pics so you could really get a sense of the quality and caliber of this great CST. The green appears in my professional opinion to be original and the white has been touched up. This was verified by the owner. If you want a perfect show truck this would need a paint job and a new tailgate. The tailgate works well but is the roughest part of the truck. The truck is cancer free. The rocker panels are in amazing original condition with no rust cancer eating them up. This is due to Washington State and the truck being kept inside.

Inside- The truck has a great interior. The seats, headliner and dash are flawless. It really shows 76K miles and how nice he took care of his truck. Being used mainly for a parts runner I thought it would be a lot rougher but you can see the care he took in his truck. These are the type of people I love to buy from. Everyone loves the little old lady cars and trucks but they have sat for so long you have to get rid of all the kinks. Not with this one. Everything works from the blazing hot heater to the windshield wipers. The glass has one rock chip since 1970 and you can see from the smokey-ness of the outer edges it is all original.  The steering wheel appears to be all original with one crack on the right side edge under the black leather protector. I didn't take it off but kinda opened it up and checked.

Driving and handling. She drives like a dream. Everything works just like it should. New brakes all around, full tune up including plugs and wires, new battery, altnator, new upper and lower hoses, and full tranny fluid change.  Everything is ready for a long road trip including the nice rally rims and toyo tires. Lots of tread for lots of life :) You can choose a mechanic of your choice to check out  the truck in my zip code 98499. Lakewood WA.

Overall A very nice truck that you can choose to keep the way it is and be happy with your turn key truck, or restore it with a paint job and carpet kit for show quality. Have a good auction and if you are a 0 rating bidder if you don't contact me before or 6 hours after you bid I will cancel your bid to keep it fair for the true E-bayers and people who want it. I hate to have to list a truck twice because of someone not contacting me after the auction.

I try and be very honest and descriptive when typing up ads on e-bay and I hope by my feedback you can see that. If I have missed something please call or email me the question. Please don't assume anything its much easier to call and ask. It's tough to write everything about a truck in a couple paragraphs. If you need a shipping quote please leave your zip code I get pretty good rates.  I can do airport pick ups or have a mechanical inspection upon your request. If you like old trucks as much as I do you will love this one!!! I do have the car listed locally and will end the auction for the right price.  70% of my listing end before the auction from a phone call with a fair offer. If it makes it the whole week I ask the buyer to make the deposit in a timely manner so I know you are serious, PLEASE call at the end of the auction. There is a negotiable $150 doc fee on the deal. Feel free to call and we can work something out. I have a Washington State free and clear title.

Detroit 3 to implement delayed unified towing standards for 2015

Tue, Feb 11 2014

Car buyers have a responsibility to be well-informed consumers. That's not always a very simple task, but some guidelines are self-evident. If you live in a very snowy climate, you generally know a Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro might not be as viable a vehicle choice as an all-wheel drive Explorer or Traverse, for example. If you want a fuel-efficient car, it's generally a good idea to know the difference between a diesel and a hybrid. But what if it's kind of tough to be an informed consumer? What if the information you need is more difficult to come by, or worse, based on different standards for each vehicle? Well, in that case, you might be a truck shopper. For years, customers of light-duty pickups have had to suffer through different ratings of towing capacities for each brand. For 2015 model year trucks, though, that will no longer be a problem. According to Automotive News, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler Group have announced that starting with next year's models, a common standard will be used to measure towing capacity. The Detroit Three will join Toyota, which adopted the Society of Automotive Engineers' so-called SAE J2807 standards way back in 2011. The standard was originally supposed to be in place for MY2013, but concerns that it would lower the overall stated capacity for trucks led Detroit automakers to pass. Ford originally passed, claiming it'd wait until its new F-150 was launched to adopt the new standards, leading GM and Ram to follow suit. Nissan, meanwhile, has said it will adopt the new standards as its vehicles are updated, meaning the company's next-generation Titan should adhere to the same tow ratings as its competitors. While the adoption of SAE J2807 will be helpful for light-duty customers, those interested in bigger trucks will still be left with differing standards. There is no sign of the new tow standards being adopted for the heavy-duty market.

Race Recap: 2013 Twelve Hours of Sebring, cakewalk up front, grindfest out back [w/spoilers]

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...
