Up for sale in this auction is my badass 1970 Chevrolet C-10 shop truck. The outside is exactly that, a shop truck, work truck or grandpa's farm truck, rat rod whatever term you would like to use for it as it has not had a fake patina job done on it as this was a straight off of the farm find some years back with all it's original, dings, dents, door rattles and characters of life left as they should be to tell the life story of the truck over the years but it's what was done underneath the hood and on the solid frame that is today's twist on the old making this one awesome ride! The truck is powered by a 383 SBC Stroker Motor that is topped of with a 671 Weiand Big Body Blower & Dual Holley 650 Blower Carbs, the motor is backed by a TKO500 5 Speed Manual Transmission with Hydraulic Clutch and all running to a 12 Bolt Posi Track Rear with 4:11 gears and being stopped by disc. brakes on all four corners of the truck. Truck has long tube headers running to thrush mufflers turned down just past back of cab, MSD Digital 6AL Box Ignition, Tru Kool Aluminum 4 Core Radiator with dual electric fans and has an under bed fuel cell that mounts between rear frame rails with filler access through bed floor. The truck rides on a set of 20" Boss 338 Grey with polished lip torque thrust rims with 255/35ZR20 tires on the front and 275/35ZR20 on the rear with at least 75 percent tread on all tires. Inside the truck it has new oem replacement carpet, dash pad and steering wheel all purchased from LMC as well as a set of new door weather strip seals that are not installed but will come with the truck. The seat in the truck is a very rare set of Buddy Bucket Bench Seats that came out in limited numbers only for the year 1967 & 1968 and are a very rare find and took me a very long time to find for this truck but they have not been re-covered yet but I honestly didn't mind them being this way as the look fit the truck. The truck also has a Pioneer DEH-73BT head unit that is Ipod Iphone ready. This truck is a great, reliable and very manageable driver, starts right up every time with ease, has no cooling issues in traffic and I personally wouldn't be afraid to jump in and drive it cross country at anytime and in proof of that the truck has been driven on The Hot Rod Power Tour in 2011 & 2013 as a long hauler for over 2000 miles on each one of those trips and I took it for approx. a 180 mile drive this evening after taking photos to list the truck on ebay figuring it would be the last time that I would drive it. The truck is bad fast and will break the tires loose with ease when just cruising along in 3rd if you want or it is a mild mannered cruiser at highway speeds and drives great. I love this truck and said that I would never sell it but I have an opportunity to chase back after a life long dream and will be using funds from the truck to help with that and honestly will some day be trying to buy it back from the winning bidder! lol Please message with any questions! This truck is selling with NO RESERVE! And only on a 5 day auction! Full payment is due within 3 days of auction with no exceptions in the form of certified bank check, money order, personal check. Title will be held until funds clear my bank and title will then be mailed USPS next day as soon as payment clears unless payment is made in person, in cash if picking up within the 3 days of auction end as stated. I am willing to also store the truck for up to 30 days if needed for buyer to arrange shipment of pick up of the truck, but as previously stated full payment is due within 3 days of auction end, no games, this truck will have a new owner at end of auction! Good Luck Bidding!

Nissan Leaf keeps plug-in vehicle sales crown for 6th straight month

Thu, May 1 2014

And Nissan makes it 14 in a row. For the 14th straight month, the all-electric Leaf has had "record sales," according to Nissan's marketing team. What that means is that for that particular month (in this case, April) no matter what year you look at, the car sold more than it ever did before. For April 2014, the 2,088 Leafs sold represents a 7.8-percent increase from 2013. Nissan's director of EV sales and marketing, Toby Perry, said in a statement that the "new market" of Cincinnati made the top 25 list for Leaf sales areas in April, so the car's popularity continues to ebb and flow across the US. Over at Chevy, the Volt sold 1,548 units in April, reaching a year-to-date total of 5,154. The Leaf is outpacing that with 7,272 YTD sales. In 2013, the Volt outsold the Leaf by about 500 vehicles, but Leaf sales are up 33 percent year-over-year while Volt is down 7.1 percent. The Leaf has also outsold the Volt for six straight months. But we're excited for every eco-car sale, and that's why we'll have our monthly detailed write-up of the rest of the plug-ins, hybrids and diesel vehicles available soon. Until then, discuss. 24 Hours of Le Mans live update part two

Sun, Jun 19 2016

We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice. Parker lives in Hawaii and can hold his breath longer than he can go without swearing. For Part One, click here. Or you can skip ahead to Part Three here. I write about surfing for a living. If you can call it a living. Basically means I spend my days fucking around and my wife pays for everything. Because she's got a real job that pays well. Brings home the bacon. Very progressive arrangement. Super twenty first century. I run a surf website, beachgrit.com, with two other guys. It's a strange gig. More or less uncensored. Kind of popular. Very good at alienating advertisers. My behavior has cost us a few bucks. I'm terrible at self-censorship. Know there's a line out there, no idea where it lies. I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. For contests I do long rambling write ups. They rarely make much sense. Mainly just talk about my life, whatever random thoughts pop into my head. "Can you do something similar for Le Mans?" "Sure, but I know absolutely fuck-all about racing." "That's okay. Just write what you want." "Will do. But you're gonna need to edit my stuff. Probably censor it heavily." So here I am. I spent the last week trying to learn all I can about the sport of endurance racing. But there's only so much you can jam in your head. And I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. While I rambled things were happening. Tracy Krohn spun into the gravel on the Forza chicane. #89 is out of the race after an accident I missed. Pegasus racing hit the wall on the Porsche curves. Bashed up front end, in the garage getting fixed. Toyota and Porsche are swapping back and forth in the front three. Ford back in the lead in GTE Pro. #91 Porsche took a stone through the radiator, down two laps. Not good. The wife and I are one of those weird childless couples that spend way too much time caring for the needs of their pet. French bulldog, Mr Eugene Victor Debs. Great little guy. Spent the last four years training him to be obedient and friendly. Nice thing about dogs, when you're sick of dealing with them you can just lock 'em in another room for a few hours. You don't need to worry about paying for college.

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.
