I am ASKING $3,500. PLEASE GIVE OFFERS!!

1) Engine 350: The engine is not the original engine.  Looks to be a 1977-1980 350 Chevy engine in
excellent shape!!!!.  The engine starts right up with NO HESITATION literally within
mlliseconds!  I removed the heads to inspect pistons, valves and cylinder walls.  All looked
good, besides the valves seating/positions in the heads were bad.  So I replaced BOTH heads
with GOOD heads that have Proper valve positions/seating.  I wire brushed all oxide from the
top of all 8 pistons AND engine block.  I also Wire brushed the total surface of the top AND
bottom of the REPLACED heads.  So, you have all new gaskets  on heads and intake manifold
and valve cover gaskets.  Has an extra strong battery Ever Start Maxx 770 cold cranking
amps/900 at 32 degrees cranking amps.  Has headers. NEEDS AN EXHAUST from headers
back.  Starter as described previously works great.  Newer oil, Newer coolant,  New transmission
fluid.  Carburetor works great, with secondary’s opening up correctly. ENGINE IS VERY
CLEAN, see pictures!!  Spark plugs are newer.  Spark plug wires in good condition.  NO
LEAKS in radiator.  Water pump has NO LEAKS.  Hoses and Belts are in great condition.  NO
OIL LEAKS!!!!!  NO RADIATOR LEAKS!!!  All engine Wiring is secured and proper.
Newer air filter. Smooth running and does not miss!!!!!

2) Transmission Turbo T-350 3-Speed:  Transmission shifts smoothly and perfectly WITH NO
HESITATION!!!!  Replaced 2 seals.  NO LEAKS from TRANSMISSION.  Responds very
    quickly!

3) Suspension:  Has very HEAVY DUTY SUSPENSION/SPRINGS in the rear.  We replaced the
brake power  booster.  So, brakes work very well.  Wheels have some rust.  Tires have good tread
    and some surface dry rot.
4) Steering:  Steering is MANUEL and NOT POWER steering.  Steering box needs to be replaced.
At a salvage yard steering box will cost $40-$75.  Steering has about 15 degrees of play in either
    direction in steering wheel.
5) Outside Body:  Body is straight!!!  Tailgate closes tightly.  Hood closes tightly.  Truck has some
rust but not rusted through in any areas i can see.  Some trim is missing as photos show.  New
front bumper.  Hood is from a 1972 Chevy and I had to replace because the original hood was
damaged.  Body has a dent that is about 5” x 5” one on top of driver side cab, the other small
dents are on bed panels.   Tailgate looks good and latching mechanism works great and closes
tightly. Truck bed has no significant damage, but does have surface rust.  All glass is good.
However, the front windshield has a crack all the way across as seen in pictures.  Side, and rear
windows is tented.  Rear bumper is rusted, but not rusted through.  Exterior lights work: Bed
light, Stop lights, Head Lights, Signal lights, Parking lights, Interior lights work.  Top of front
grill has dents as photos show.  Has a Billet Grill.  Both doors open and close SOLIDLY!!!  Both
widows roll up and down smoothly!!  Windshield Wipers Work and have brand new wipers.  Has
a spare tire rack in bed, but no spare tire.  Obviously, the underneath of truck has surface rust, but
is not rusted through.  Truck bed looks good for a 44 year old truck!

6) Interior:  Seat is structurally sound as I removed it to clean it.  One area I repaired.  Seat
adjustment works now.  Carpet is old and has 2 very worn areas that have very loose thread, but
I cleaned it as best I could.  Gas tank has NO HOLES!!! and no gas smell.  Interior is very, very
clean!!!  Dash pad is in good condition and is clean.  All dash vents and panel vents work and are
in place.  Has NO RADIO or door speakers, but does has door grills.  Climate control has NEW
knobs and cabling.  NO AIR CONDITIONING.  Has a 1980's steering wheel.  Dash cluster is in
great shape. I removed it to clean and paint it.  All gauges “SEAM” to work. The speedometer is
off by about 10 degrees because of the small wheels and tires.  The gas gauge works.  The voltage
gauge “seams” to work.  The oil pressure gauge works.  Windshield wipers work.  Interior Lights
work.  Sun visors are in great condition with NO damage.   Glove box cardboard insert is in great
condition.  Climate control works great!  Door panels is in OK condition with some puckering.
Arm rests are in good condition.  Windows roll up and down smoothly.  THERE ARE
ABSOLUTELY NO LEAKS IN THE INTERIOR FROM OUTSIDE RAIN OR SNOW!!!

I have many more pictures or I can take any pictures of anything you want and send to your email.

I have a clear title!!!

Chevy's 6.6-liter Duramax is pretty much all new

Thu, Sep 29 2016

To say there's a heated battle in heavy-duty pickups is an understatement, with Chevrolet, Ford, and Ram constantly trading blows of increased torque, horsepower, and towing capacity. The latest salvo is the revised, more powerful turbo diesel 6.6-liter Duramax V8 in the 2017 Chevy Silverado. It has 910 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 145, putting it nearly level with the Ford Super Duty. Here's a closer look at where those gains come from. How exactly did Chevrolet add all that torque plus 48 horsepower? The automaker essentially took a fine-tooth comb to the entire engine. Chevy says it changed 90 percent of the V8, and the cumulative effect of those small changes adds up to big increases. As you might guess, the turbocharger is updated. The larger unit features electric actuation of the variable nozzle turbine (VNT), and what Chevy calls a double axle cartridge mechanism that separates the VNT moving parts from the housing. That helps with heat performance as well, with a claim that the exhaust side of the turbo can run continuously up to 1,436 degrees Fahrenheit. Helping that cause are six exhaust gaskets made of Inconel - an nickel alloy that contains chromium and iron – and upgraded stainless steel for the exhaust manifold. Despite having the same cast iron cylinder block, albeit with some minor enhancements, the engine has new cylinder heads, pistons, piston pins, connecting rods, and crankshaft, which have all been upgraded to handle 20 percent higher cylinder pressures. Alongside the increase in pressure, Chevrolet also increased the cylinder head's structure with a honeycomb design. The pattern features high-strength aluminum with dual layer water jackets that not only improve strength, but also optimize water flow for better cooling. For 2017, the cylinder head also benefits from integrated plenum that aids the engine in getting more air under heavy loads. The cylinder head isn't the only component to get a minor update, as the pistons have a larger diameter pin for improved oil flow. The same detailed improvements has been bestowed to the humble connecting rods (second in our hearts only to the inanimate carbon rod). The new design has the bolts oriented roughly 45-degrees to the rod instead of parallel. The angle split design, as it's called allows for easier passage through the cylinder.

Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo could only work in a video game [w/video]

Thu, Nov 20 2014

There's something wondrous about the Vision Gran Turismo series of concepts that has let companies go wild with completely imaginary concepts for Gran Turismo. For Chevrolet's crack at the idea, it has taken a page out of its performance past with the Chaparral Can-Am racers of the '60s and '70s, with its designers having reinterpreted that period look for the future of motorsports as the Chaparral 2X. In real life, the 2X looks even better than in earlier photos. The design takes inspiration from someone in a flying suit with head down and arms outstretched, an influence you can really see that in the vehicle's shape. The driver lies facedown inside with the instruments projected onto a visor. Unfortunately, the powertrain here is a complete flight of fancy and works purely in the video game world. It imagines a laser propelled by lithium-ion batteries and an air-powered generation to make 900 horsepower. The 2X has a theoretical top speed of 240 miles per hour and hits 60 mph in a lightning-quick 1.5 seconds. Scroll down to see the concept on video with Chevrolet designers describing their inspiration and read the company's full announcement. It's also downloadable in Gran Turismo 6. Chevrolet to Show Chaparral Vision Gran Turismo Concept Boundary-pushing, Chevy-powered race cars changed motorsports design DETROIT – When racers Jim Hall and Hap Sharp founded Chaparral Cars in 1962, few could have guessed how they would shake up the conformities of the racing world – and fundamentally change it. Through pioneering applications of aerodynamics and aerospace technology, and a partnership with Chevrolet Research and Development, Chaparral Cars advanced the science of racing cars. It also triumphed on the track over well-established sports car companies from around the world, using Chevrolet horsepower. It was that spirit of innovation that inspired the Chevrolet Chaparral 2X VGT concept race car developed for the Vision Gran Turismo project, which celebrates the 15th anniversary of PlayStation® racing game Gran Turismo by inviting manufacturers to give fans a glimpse into the future of automotive design. It will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Nov. 19, and gamers will be able race the Chaparral 2X VGT following the release of an online update for Gran Turismo 6 during the holiday season.

Which electric cars can charge at a Tesla Supercharger?

Sun, Jul 9 2023

The difference between Tesla charging and non-Tesla charging. Electrify America; Tesla Tesla's advantage has long been its charging technology and Supercharger network. Now, more and more automakers are switching to Tesla's charging tech. But there are a few things non-Tesla drivers need to know about charging at a Tesla station. A lot has hit the news cycle in recent months with regard to electric car drivers and where they can and can't plug in. The key factor in all of that? Whether automakers switched to Tesla's charging standard. More car companies are shifting to Tesla's charging tech in the hopes of boosting their customers' confidence in going electric.  Here's what it boils down to: If you currently drive a Tesla, you can keep charging at Tesla charging locations, which use the company's North American Charging Standard (NACS), which has long served it well. The chargers are thinner, more lightweight and easier to wrangle than other brands.  If you currently drive a non-Tesla EV, you have to charge at a non-Tesla charging station like that of Electrify America or EVgo — which use the Combined Charging System (CCS) — unless you stumble upon a Tesla charger already equipped with the Magic Dock adapter. For years, CCS tech dominated EVs from everyone but Tesla.  Starting next year, if you drive a non-Tesla EV (from the automakers that have announced they'll make the switch), you'll be able to charge at all Supercharger locations with an adapter. And by 2025, EVs from some automakers won't even need an adaptor.  Here's how to charge up, depending on which EV you have:  Ford 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Tim Levin/Insider Ford was the earliest traditional automaker to team up with Tesla for its charging tech. Current Ford EV owners — those driving a Ford electric vehicle already fitted with a CCS port — will be able to use a Tesla-developed adapter to access Tesla Superchargers starting in the spring. That means that, if you own a Mustang Mach-E or Ford F-150 Lightning, you will need the adapter in order to use a Tesla station come 2024. But Ford will equip its future EVs with the NACS port starting in 2025 — eliminating the need for any adapter. Owners of new Ford EVs will be able to pull into a Supercharger station and juice up, no problem. General Motors Cadillac Lyriq. Cadillac GM will also allow its EV drivers to plug into Tesla stations.
