1968 Chevrolet C10 Shortbed Custom Resto Mod Meets Drag Truck on 2040-cars
Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States
1968 chevy pickup c-10.
This a shortbed truck built by Dallas performance originally. It has a 6.0 LQ9 motor and wiring harness out of 2005 cadillac escalade. It has a 6 speed transmission with pistol grip shifter and it runs and drives better than you can imagine. Its a daily driver, cruiser and street fighter. The motor is fuel injected and has a computer that you can take to any dealership for servicing. There's a ton to list on this truck. Air ride technologies suspension, 4.11 positrac rear end, custom fuel lines and pump with tank in bed professionally done. At the time it was built it took on all on comers. It was a shop truck that could run with the best--and it still does. Horsepower on dyno was 468 to the tires which means motor makes 538 horsepower-did I meantion its built and the motor makes 730 on the nitrous, 650 to the tire. Well It not hooked up and I have never run it but it was built for it and it really doesn't need it- it pulls hard all the way through powerband. I have a new z06 and I think it would be close race. @@@@NO 350 cubic inch carburated motor and 350 automatic transmission like everyone else )-OH NOOO. !!! This is different. Camaro new style electric seats with air conditioning or heat for long hour long cruises. Lots of custom work to body, no gas cap, no metal drip rails, no lights in fenders, grill is a little custom and the truck just works incredible. It sounds incredible, Probably the best sounding truck or car I have ever owned, THERE will be no disappointments. This truck needs a new home, I have had it 8 years and had it to alot of shows and its a super fun truck, It needs someone who can put a custom wood bed in and do alittle bit of work to the body. It has no rust but it would be a good weekend project for a father son, or guy who likes to trick out cars, I use the bed for hauling some stuff around and the bed wood needs some work. I am going to try to download on you tube the truck but Not sure. THERE IS NOT ANOTHER TRUCK LIKE THIS AND NEVER WILL AGAIN. This truck is not a trailer queen and its not original, Its a 32,000 build thats going probably for half price. This truck will run state to state without problems so if you buy it you can drive it home. You can run it to oklahoma city and take on the farm truck if you want. I think it would be a good race. Thanks, Send me your questions and happy bidding. On Jul-03-14 at 21:26:03 PDT, seller added the following information: Transmission is T-56 6 speed. It has a mcleod lightweight flywheel with a spec clutch. I am wanting to sell truck so if you have any questions or offers please email me so I can answer your questions, if anyone knows how to you tube video let me know so I can post this truck it will explain all the above by the sound 3 inch exhaust, magnaflow mufflers, headers and zenon headlights. |

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray
Fri, 25 Oct 2013We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.
2014 Chevrolet Malibu gets more torque, more room and inspiration from the Impala
Fri, 31 May 2013The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, having stared at the Impala across the showroom floor for a year, gets nips and tucks all over inspired by its larger brother. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder in the base car will get a stop-start system and 23 city miles per gallon, 35 highway, each number representing a one-mpg improvement over the 2013 car. Output is 196 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.
Opt for the 2.0-liter turbo and, while power holds steady at 259 hp, torque goes up by 14 percent to a striking 295 lb-ft (a figure Chevy calls best in the class). The final details include newly programmed transmission shift points and faster shifts, for better engaging and enjoying the added power.
Looks-wise, the grille's been reshaped to be more in line with the new Chevrolet look, a narrower upper grille hovering over a larger lower grille.
Porsche, Jaguar continue dominance in 2015 JD Power APEAL study
Wed, Jul 22 2015The top of JD Power's 2015 APEAL Study has not changed much in the last year. Porsche remains No. 1 with Jaguar nipping at its heels, although both premium brands saw their overall score fall compared to 2014. For those that need a refresher, the APEAL Study looks at how "gratifying" a vehicle is to own and drive, rating cars and brands on a 1,000-point scale. The industry average for 2015 has increased from 794 to 798, while the total number of automakers that finished above the curve increased from 16 to 20. While Porsche and Jaguar finished at the top, their scores dropped eight and seven points, respectively, to 874 and 855. The top "non-premium" brand was Mini, which scored an impressive 825, up from 795. If the BMW-owned British marque is still a bit too premium for your tastes, last year's non-premium winner, Hyundai, did climb five points and is this year's runner up. At the opposite end of the scale, Smart sits at the very bottom of the rankings, with a score of 683 (it didn't appear on the 2014 rankings). Fiat also dropped, from fourth worst in 2014 to second worst in 2015, despite the 500 being named most appealing city car. Subaru made an impressive climb, from third worst to seventh, falling just 10 points shy of the industry average and two points south of the non-premium average. In the individual vehicle segments, eight brands earned multiple awards, with Ford, Chevrolet, and Porsche earning three apiece. Surprise segment victories included the new Ford Expedition, which beat out Chevy's popular Suburban. The Infiniti QX80 bested the likes of the Cadillac Escalade and Range Rover for best large luxury SUV, and the Dodge Challenger beat its muscle car rivals from Ford and Chevy. Most of the victories, though, were quite predictable. The Mazda6 and CX-5 took wins for the midsize sedan and compact SUV categories respectively, while the Volkswagen Golf captured the compact car win. The Ford F-150 won the large pickup category, while the Porsche Cayman was named most appealing compact premium sporty car.
