1967 Chevy C10 Long Bed Pick-up Truck on 2040-cars
Cotopaxi, Colorado, United States
Tailgate does not open. The wood bed is in rough condition. Body is straight, has new real coil springs, new seat cover, new valve cover caskets, and new brake shoes. It has new low-profile wide tires (approximately 2500 miles on them) and sand-blasted painted rims with chrome accessories. The chrome on passenger's side is behind the seat. Original paint. The truck is all original except for the tires and rims.
I purchased the truck from the grandson of the original owner. The truck spent its life on a farm, stored in a barn for 30 years with a camper shell on it; the rear coil springs were completely flat which I replaced. Grandson removed the camper and stated at the time of purchase, the mileage was original at 56,253 miles; however, I have no documentation to prove that was the original mileage on the truck. The mileage is now 57,343. The transmission works good and the truck runs good. Full payment must be made within 72 hours of sale. If you have any questions, leave a message at 719-315-0585 and I will return your call. Low reserve. |

GM investing $167m in Spring Hill for new midsize vehicles
Tue, 06 Aug 2013General Motors has announced a large investment in its Spring Hill, Tennessee facility. The former home of Saturn production will be getting a $167 million addition to a previously announced $183 million, to cover a pair of new midsize vehicles. The investment is expected to create 1,800 jobs at the factory.
That $350 million is being divvied up for a pair of programs at Spring Hill. The first will take the bulk of the money ($223 million) and create 1,000 of the 1,800 jobs, while the other will take the remaining $127 million and generate the leftover 800 positions. But GM says the investment will cover "midsize vehicle programs." So what could they be?
The leading candidate in our minds is a new crossover for Buick, called the Anthem, that will slot between the Encore and Enclave, but will be slightly smaller than the Equinox and Terrain. As we've explained, the new model will likely be the first product to sport GM's new D2UX platform, which will eventually replace both the Delta and Theta platforms. Spring Hill is already building the Equinox, so there could be some credence to this theory.
Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.
