1967 Chevy C10 Short Bed Street Rod – Show Truck
Overall Details:
You are looking at an amazing work or Art. Must be seen in person to appreciate the quality of this frame off restoration. No expense was spared and there are no short cuts whatsoever. It also only had the very best skilled experts touch it during throughout the entire build process. No shade tree 90% effort as seen on most restorations….. rather Barret Jackson Quality Craftsman that have perfected what they do. The detailed pics should show some of what I am talking about so you can get the idea. Of course, you can come see the car and inspect it, you will be speechless.
This truck has been driven enough to sort out any new build kinks and that could have been present. From the first start though, it has started, ran and driven perfect. In total, I’ve driven it 385 miles to be exact. It is 100%, no issues whatsoever. It drives much better than when it was new in 1967. Mechanically perfect, no issues of any kind. It drives straight, stops great, runs cool and handles excellent. Quality sound deadener was used throughout the interior compartment to cancel road noise, it is very quiet inside now and has a very solid, new car feel to it. The driving experience is nothing like you would expect from a 67 era truck, it is nothing short of exceptional in every way. The exhaust note is deep and throaty with some rumble, but not at all offensive or annoying like some. Turn key and go and it puts a smile on your face that just won’t go away. On a scale of 1-10 in the following categories I’d rate is has follows:
Quality of paint and body 10 Interior 10 Running and driving 10 Creature comforts 8 (no ac) Power / performance 10
Listing everything would take hours, here is a Summary:
Paint and body / Frame off rotisserie Restoration $25,000 Interior / Gauges / Column / Stereo / Wiring $ 2,500 496 CI BBC Hot Street Engine / 400 Built Trans / Rear $12,500 Suspension / Wheels / Fuel System / Cooling / Exhaust $11,000
TOTAL: $51,000
This build is extensively documented and will come with a huge pile or receipts and details. I have most, but not all of the build paper work.
That build dollar is not counting misc little things or the price of the truck to begin with. This is real money and some would try to recover 100% of the build cost or more. The way the truck looks and drives I think that would not be out of line. I took over the process on my dollar when a friend hit a ‘brick wall’ financially speaking to finish it due to the auto plant where he worked closing. I had a complete car that needed nothing so we made a trade. At that point, the truck was 70%-75% complete. I got into it from what I felt was a great deal and will pass that along and more to sell it. I knew the complete history of the build and had full confidence in all work that had been performed as I know the shop that did most of hit as well as him. I have a restoration shop, the remainder of the work was done by me.
Build Highlights:
Body, Paint and Frame:
The entire process started by with a complete disassembly of the truck, down to every single nut and bolt being removed, bagged and labeled. From there, all parts that were to be reused were media blasted and epoxy primed for excellent paint adhesion. This included the frame, cab body and all misc parts. Then, all new body panels were purchased – including fenders, bed sides, inner wheel openings, tail gate, doors, hood, rockers and cab corners all new. Each panel was installed and straightened as needed to perfection. Then, the car was put together to fit all panels and achieve perfect body gaps. Finally, it was block sanded several times and then its’ beautiful Code 81 Flame Red Base Coat Lear coat was carefully applied and buffed to perfection by one of the best painters in our area. The bed was done in beautiful Oak and it turned out perfect. This phase of the build was done by a restoration shop called Custom auto works by the renowned Wally Enders.
Engine and Drivetrain:
Next came the engine build, no corners cut here. I wanted a great street motor with power to spare. To achieve that, a totally race prepped short block was acquired from a local racer and sent to a top notch machine shop for the works. A set of rare and highly sought after corvette L88 heads were totally gone through as well with all new valves and race valve job. A healthy but not too radical Competition Cams cam was purchased and the engine was completed with an Team G aluminum intake, Pro Systems 1,000 cfm holley carb, MSD distributor and custom ceramic coated Cooks 2 and 1/8th” headers with a custom full mandrel bent 3” aluminum coated exhaust out the back. It ended up making plenty of power . Yet, it drives very tame when you do not press the gas pedal too hard – which was exactly what I hoped for. I’d estimate the horsepower to be at least 550hp but closer to 590-610hp. It is a rush for sure, I did not build it to be a race car, but it is very powerful and if you like horsepower you will LOVE this truck.
All the supporting cast is top notch as well. Fully pro built automatic 400 turbo trans, Transmission Specialties torque converter spec’d for this build, built rear end, drive shaft, etc. Complete professional wiring from Painless, cooling system and fuel system all the best money can buy.
SUMMARY
This truck runs, looks and drives amazing. It lacks nothing, turn key and drive to any show and take first place.
I’ve built dozens and show cars and have been doing type work for a living for over 25 years, so I have a trained eye. This truck is second to none, top to bottom. Bid with confidence as there is zero chance of being disappointed. PLEASE look closely at the pics, they were all just taken and I used a high resolution camera to try to show the details well. There is no photo shop stuff the pro’s do to make things look better and nor am I a photographer, but I assure you the truck looks as good or better than the pics show it, no surprises here. Title is clean, free and clear and in my hand.
NO SCAMS – NO TRADES – NO PICTURE COLLECTORS – NO DREAMERS. Please, serious buyers only with the funds to buy inquire or bid on this truck. The truck will not leave my shop until it’s paid for in full. I have spent a lot of time describing the vehicle so as not to waste you time, please do not waste mine.
636-744-3800 – SERIOUS BUYER ONLY please, text or call.
Thank you for looking!!!

10 electric cars we’re excited are coming soon
Thu, Sep 22 2022If you were considering buying an electric vehicle a couple years ago, we wouldn't fault you for thinking your options were limited, both in terms of quantity and quality. You just might not have been able to find an electric car that would suit your needs, lifestyle or budget. With the newest generation of EVs that have launched in the past year or two, your options have changed — and improved — dramatically. If you still don't see an EV you like, just wait a little while longer. It won't take long. There are a whole lot more on the horizon, and the problem may soon be in narrowing down your options. To give you an example, here are 10 electric vehicles we're excited about that you'll be able to buy very soon, from GM, from Germany, from Japan and more. Some of these will be available by the end of the year, and all are expected to launch by the end of 2023. The Chevy trio: 2024 Blazer EV, Equinox EV and Silverado EV GM is stepping into the future with strong footing. Following high-end electric launches from GMC (Hummer EV) and Cadillac (Lyriq), Chevrolet is bringing three electric vehicles with familiar nameplates. The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV (above left) will offer a number of versions, starting with the 2LT and RS trims in the summer of 2023, followed by the 557-horsepower SS in the fall and the base 1LT in early 2024. The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV (above right) will go on sale in fall 2023 as a limited-edition model, with volume sales ramping up in 2024, with a base cost of “around $30,000.” For those who prefer a bed to a liftgate, the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV is an electric pickup that looks more like the old Chevy Avalanche than the current Silverado. The WT (work truck) trim launches in fall 2023, while the 664-horsepower RST will follow in 2024. It should go on sale before the end of 2022. The i7 xDrive60 will be the only variant, with its two motors providing a total of 536 horsepower and 549 pound-feet of torque, and its battery expected to offer a range of about 300 miles. Just like its internal combustion counterpart, this full-size sedan wonÂ’t come cheap, with the i7 starting at $120,295. 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 Following the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6 and Genesis GV60, the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 will be the fourth car using Hyundai GroupÂ’s E-GMP electric car architecture.
Chevy up to old EVs-equal-range-anxiety tricks in new Volt Olympics ad
Fri, Feb 14 2014General Motors is at it again with a new Chevrolet Volt TV commercial. Viewers of the Winter Olymics (at least in some markets) recently saw a TV ad in between the skating and the skiing that made no mention of the environmental benefits or freedom from the power of Big Oil that electric vehicles provide. No, this one was based on pure survival instinct. In the video, a father is driving down a highway, perhaps through the Mojave Desert. His young son is sitting in the Volt's backseat and asks what happens when the EV's battery runs out. "We'll have to cross that burning desert with snakes and cactus until we make it back to civilization," the dad tells his son as they pass the skeleton of a fallen bull. The fine print makes it clear that the actual maximum range is 342 miles. But there is hope. The father tells his son, with a beaming smile on his face, that the gas generator has kicked in and they're going to make it through the desert. As they wend their way to the horizon, a voice over says that Volt drivers who charge up regularly are making it 900 miles between fill ups. The fine print makes it clear that the actual official maximum range before you need to either plug in or fill up is 342 miles. This theme that emphasized range anxiety has been utilized by GM since the extended range Volt was launched in late 2010, despite the fact that Chevrolet now offers an all-electric vehicle in the Spark EV. Volt fans are praising the commercial, called The New Freedom, on the GM-Volt forum and you can see for yourself below. This content is hosted by a third party. Next-gen GMC Sierra spied with diesel power
Tue, Sep 5 2017The next generation of GM trucks is arriving soon, and we're expecting a huge leap forward over the current lineup. The Chevy Silverado and the GMC SIerra sell extremely well, but haven't done much to move the segment forward in a long time. The Ford F-150 has an all-aluminum body and turbocharged V6 power. The Ram 1500 gained a diesel and coil spring suspension. These spy shots show that diesel may be in the cards for GM. Some quick shots and copious use of flash show what is most likely a tank for diesel exhaust fluid and a diesel particulate filter, both necessary equipment for any modern diesel. It's unclear what form factor that engine will come in, though GM has a number of engines to choose from, including the 2.8-liter inline four that's found in the Colorado and Canyon, though that may be a little light duty for the Silverado and Sierra. Other rumors surrounding the trucks suggest a move to an aluminum cab while retaining a steel bed. That seems like a reasonable move for GM, even if the company was attempting to shame Ford for its move to aluminum a few years ago. Look for more news as early as the Detroit Auto Show in January.
