C-10 1967 Chevrolet Short-Wide Pickup

This truck has just undergone a thorough restoration at Rob’s Rods and Restorations in Austin, TX. The cab and bed were removed from the frame, and the frame was sanded and painted. The body panels were mostly taken down to bare metal, straightened beautifully, and finished in basecoat/clearcoat. The entire interior is brand new and features a custom two-tone seat, new headliner, carpet (on the floor and covering the fuel tank behind the seat), Lokar custom shifter, dash, steering wheel, and classic style radio with ipod/aux input. The truck is lowered front and rear, giving it the right stance. Nearly everything has been gone through or replaced, and there are pictures and a big folder of receipts to document it. The list of new items is too long to post here. This truck is solid and rust-free.  It looks good and sounds good, and the pictures speak for themselves.

This truck runs very strong. It features an angle-bored 350, new Edelbrock 750cfm 4-barrel carb with electric choke, Performer RPM intake, 2.02 camel hump heads with roller rockers, Lunati 494 cam, Mallory uni-lite distributor, hooker super comp headers, flowmasters with stainless tips, polished aluminum valve covers, power steering, later model power disc brakes, 4-core radiator, 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission with shift kit, trans cooler, auburn 3.73 posi rear end, front and rear sway bars, custom Lokar shifter, and vintage style autometer tach to count the revs. It will cruise at 2200 rpm at 70mph, and it will get there quickly.

The professional paint job was finished in a Fiat “Avorrio Chiarro” ivory/cream color that looks great. It shows hints of white, ivory, and a hint of banana yellow depending on the light. It’s understated and classy, and very sharp.

The wheels are smoothie style chrome rims, 8” wide in front and 10” wide in back. The front tires are nearly new, and the rears have about 30-40% tread. The p295 tires out back look tough.

Everything works on this truck with the exception of the ammeter and the original coolant temp gauge. The temp gauge is new, but not hooked to an original style sensor.  The wiring on the truck has been upgraded with a more modern blade-style fuse box.

The paint and body work is very nice and straight with very few imperfections, but it does have a couple of touch-ups. Bumpers are not show quality, but look nice. Please review the pictures.

The truck just had an oil change with 10w30 synthetic, has new trans fluid and coolant, and is ready for the road.

I ENCOURAGE YOU TO COME LOOK AT THE TRUCK AND TAKE A TEST DRIVE.

Chevrolet Camaros at SEMA are a mobile accessory catalog

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

Chevy's goal at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week seems to be to show as much of its Performance and Accessories catalog as possible. That's why it brought three different Camaros - two with V8s and one powered by a V6 - with all of the best goodies from the catalog already fitted.
We gave a more in-depth recap of the Performance Camaro V8 Concept, the Performance Camaro V6 Concept and the Performance Garage Concept already, but we figured you'd like a short recap for each. It should be noted, though, that you can order all of the items you see here for your own Camaro, so be sure to take a long, hard look at our live galleries, just in case you're in the market for some mods.
Essentially, the Performance Garage Concept and the Performance V8 Concept are the same car - the only difference is that the later features a whole host of aesthetic tweaks in addition to its aftermarket, shorty exhaust headers and 2.75-inch exhaust. (The Performance Garage Concept has been usefully placed on its side; the better to see the new parts added to the vehicle.) The Performance V6 Concept is notable because, despite being a V6, there's no shortage of performance goodies fitted. All three of the Performance Camaros benefit from items from the Camaro ZL1, which can also be ordered through the catalog.

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.

Are you the 2014 Corvette Grand Sport?

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

When are stripes more than just stripes? Follow up question: Is the product development team at Chevrolet really cocky enough to hide the next C7 Corvette variant in plain sight? This very recently spotted, and ostensibly obscured C7 asks a lot more questions than it answers, but there's at least some evidence to support that it might be the next Corvette Grand Sport.
The first and most obvious tip-off that something is up with this 'Vette revolves around those silver stripes. Obviously the stripes themselves don't necessarily denote a new model. However, when Chevy recently launched its "colorizer" website for the Stingray, there was no provision made for racing stripes - solid colors only.
Grand Sport exhibit number two is actually an incriminating lack of badges. The production Corvettes we've seen to date have all carried Stingray badges on their fenders, just behind the vent. The car seen in these images has no such badges, which is an intriguing omission on an car that looks like a production-spec vehicle otherwise.
