Please read entire listing and description.

Up for auction is this 1965 Chevrolet C10 long bed pickup. This C10 is very nice with a straight clean body and very little rust, only one spot as seen in the photos. It has 35,507 miles on the odometer, which I'm sure is 135,507. This pickup runs and drives great! It idles nicely or can easily cruise at freeway speeds of 65mph++. It drives straight down the road and stops straight and easy with the addition of power brakes!

THE EXTERIOR of the pickup only has small dings and scratches and would qualify as a good daily driver quality. All door, hood, and tailgate latches work well and as they should. All exterior lights work, (headlights, blinkers, brakes..) The tail gate chain latches have been deleted and it has latches on the inside of the bed. The wood of the bed is solid, but not original. The Tires have approximately 1,000 miles on them and a full size spare tire is included. It also has a locking fuel cap. Unfortunately I DO NOT have the keys for the door locks.

THE INTERIOR has black carpet in good condition with a 60/40 spit bench seat that is fully adjustable. The drivers side seat has a few small cracks in the upholstery but is still very comfortable. All windows roll up and down easily and work good. It is equipped with a working AM/FM Cassette radio. The heater blows hard and warm even in the winter and the windshield wipers work too. The speedometer/odometer/oil pressure/Alternator/and temperature gauges all work too, but the temperature gauge is aftermarket. Even the horn works!

THE UNDERCARRIAGE is very clean and rust free. Under the engine is a little oily.

UNDER THE HOOD the inline 6 engine starts and runs great every time even in cold temperatures. It also has power brakes installed that work great. Around 1,000 miles ago the front and rear brake shoes, wheel cylinders, and front wheel bearings were replaced.

It has the following NEW parts installed:

Air Cleaner
Spark Plugs
Spark Plug Wires
Ignition Points
Ignition Condensor
Distributor Cap
Distributor Rotor
PCV Valve
Fuel Pump
Valve Cover Gasket
Exhaust Gaskets
Ignition Lock Cylinder and Switch

This pickup is set at a LOW RESERVE and is ready for summertime cruising and enjoyment, or a good solid candidate to build to your liking! I have tried to describe this pickup to the best of my knowledge as shown in the pictures and description above of any imperfections the truck may have. Please keep in mind this is an older pickup and is not in perfect condition, but this 1965 C10 is still very nice for almost 50 years old! If you have any questions, please feel free to message me and I will respond as soon as I can. Thanks for looking and good luck!

2016 Chevy Volt will not need premium gas

Wed, Oct 29 2014

Buried in the new technical details of the 2016 Chevy Volt released yesterday was a throwaway line about a small but important change that's due to the new 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. The first-gen Volt has always required premium gas but the new powerplant will be happy burning plain old regular. The Volt's chief engineer, Andrew Farah, told AutoblogGreen that the change was due to today's Volt owners explaining they were not happy paying for top-shelf petroleum. "The ability to use regular unleaded was based directly on customer feedback," he said. "Since the range extender is an all-new engine, it was optimized to use regular unleaded at the outset. Using regular fuel will not have effect on vehicle acceleration or other performance factors." As Larry Nitz, GM's executive director of vehicle electrification, told AutoblogGreen yesterday, the new engine is more powerful and quieter than the outgoing 1.4-liter engine that's used in the current Volt. Fuel economy and EV range specs for the next-gen Volt are not expected until the full car is revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

1983 Motorweek showdown pits Porsche 928S vs. Chevy Camaro Z28

Mon, Jan 12 2015

Last month, Motor Trend threw the Camaro Z/28 and Porsche 911 GT3 into the bear pit and let them fight it out. Way back in 1983, MotorWeek had the same idea, comparing the Camaro Z/28 to the Porsche 928S. At the time, the Camaro was America's best selling sports coupe, the 928S was Porsche's top-of-the-line model that also had the highest top speed of any car sold here. And the price differential was even more stark then: $13,600 for the Camaro, $45,000 for the Porsche. That put the Z/28's cast-iron, 5.0-liter V8 with 190 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque against the all-aluminum 4.7-liter V8 with 234 hp and 263 lb-ft in the 928S. Even with that and the Camaro being 14 inches longer than the Porsche, the American was a surprising 40 pounds lighter than the German. The show took them to Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia to see how close a relative performance bargain could hang with a the German GT. Both had five-speed manual transmissions, but the high-speed corners and tight sections of Summit Point would test other handling variables, including the "bone-rattling" Camaro's solid rear axle and disc and drum brake setup vis-a-vis the four-wheel disc brakes and independent suspension on the "firm-but-smooth" Porsche. Paradoxically, the larger disparity 22 years ago resulted in a closer result. Check out the video to see how the Summit was won. GM takes heat for aborted Silverado riff on 'Boston Strong' at World Series

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

During game five of the World Series, Chevrolet was set to do a spot of marketing for the 2014 Silverado - fans at Busch Stadium in St. Louis would hold up placards that spelled out the words "Silverado Strong," a theme that Chevy has been promoting since the Silverado's launch with the song "Strong," by Will Hoge. The St. Louis promo was ultimately called off, though, over concerns that it'd be insensitive to the visiting Boston Red Sox. (You can see the image of what the stunt would have looked like above, courtesy of one timely Reddit user.)
Now, the Busch Stadium stunt might not have been a big deal, had the St. Louis Cardinals not been playing the Boston Red Sox. Following the tragic events in Boston during the marathon back in April, the phrase "Boston Strong" gained traction among the city's citizens, especially at sporting events. So, you can imagine that Chevy's appropriation of the phrase might not sit well with some fans.
The stunt was ultimately shelved after images of the signs went viral before the game, leading to a bit of a public backlash. Chevy spokesperson Michael Albano said of the promo that it was meant to show the brand's "commitment to baseball and its fans." But after the images went viral, the company "realized there was the possibility that we may offend some of the very fans we were trying to honor," Albano told Automotive News via email.
