I purchased this truck in July, 2002 with the intentions of restoring back to original factory condition. Truck was manufactured in Chevrolet's Atlanta, GA Production Facility in 1965 and painted Light Green. During the restoration process, the decision was made to change the color to Factory Code # 507 - Light Blue that was also available for that production year.
* This truck came off of the factory floor as a BASE Model with only the basic features: " Thrift Air " Heater / Driver's Side Only Sun Visor / 230 - 6 Cylinder Engine with Manual 3 Speed with the Shifter on the Column. Every effort was made to restore and maintain the Original Specifications - with the exception of the Color Change, just as the vehicle would have delivered from your local Chevy Dealer in 1965.
* All Rubber, Window Seals, Hoses, Belts, Felt Seals, Fender and Panel Seals were all replaced.
* The Front Windshield was replaced, but all other glass is original with all new rubber on windows.
* New Rubber Floor Mats were installed along with Firewall Insulator Pad and Felt Liner under the Floor Mat.
* The Bed was re-built using new Steel rails and new bed wood as well as new chains and chain covers.
The pictures included will attest to the quality of this restoration and condition of this truck. As you can see, the vehicle is 100% complete including the Bumper Bracket Cover Panels and Cab Corner Gravel Shields that are many times missing on the trucks. The engine is strong and runs smooth with no smoke. Transmission operates with no issues and shifts just as it came from the factory.
There are a few things not yet completed that would need to be done to bring the truck to Complete Original Specifications: Battery is not correct for this period of truck. Seat Cover was meant to be temporary. Original Seat Cover is underneath, but damaged. Radio is correct, but not hooked up, and I have the wheel for the spare tire along with the hanging mechanism for under-bed stowage.
* All Shop and Repair Manuals as well as other Books and Information shown in the pictures are included in the sell.
Vehicle is being offered with a low reserve and is availabel for inspection approximately 45 minutes south of Atlanta, GA.
** There are two small paint chips which I have pictured that occured as vehicles was being re-assembled. These are small but I do want to make any bidder aware of these. There is left over paint for all colors used that will also go with the vehicle.
** The State of GEORGIA WILL NOT ISSUE a title for a vehicle of this age, so ownership will be transferred with Bill of Sale and Local County Tag Receipt. Vehicle has a current County Tag and Registration and is Insured. Driven only occasionally.
The successful high bidder will submit a $500.00 Non-Refundable Deposit within 48 hours of close of Auction, with the Balance due within 5 Days.
* CASH in Person or Bank Wire are requested. All financial transactions must be complete prior to release of Vehicle. If winning Buyer decides to ship, all Shipping Cost are at the expense of the Buyer and Seller will not be held liable for any damages in shipping.

Foreign automakers pay from $38 to $65 per hour to non-union workers
Sun, Mar 29 2015As leaders for the United Auto Workers gather in Detroit for their Special Convention on Collective Bargaining to work out the negotiating stance for this year's new labor agreements with the Detroit 3 automakers, what they most want to do is figure out how to eliminate the two-tier wage scale. However, the lower Tier 2 wage has allowed the domestic automakers to reduce their labor costs, hire more workers, and compete better with their import competition. As it stands, per-hour labor rates including benefits are $58 at General Motors, $57 at Ford, and $48 at Fiat-Chrysler – a reflection of FCA's much greater number of Tier 2 workers. The Center for Automotive Research released a study of labor rates (including benefits) that put numbers to what the imports pay: Mercedes-Benz pays the most, at an average of $65 per hour, Volkswagen pays the least, at $38 per hour, and BMW is just a hair above that at $39 per hour. Among the Detroit competitors, Honda workers earn an average of $49 per hour, at Toyota it's $48 per hour, Nissan is $42 per hour, and Hyundai-Kia pays $41 per hour. The lower import wages are aided by their greater use of temporary workers compared to the domestics. Automotive News says the ten-dollar gap between those foreign camakers and the domestics turns out to about an extra $250 per car in labor, which adds up quickly when you're pumping out many millions of cars. That $250-per-car number is one that, come negotiating time, the Detroit 3 will want to reduce, as the UAW is trying to raise both Tier 1 and Tier 2 wages. Another wrinkle is that the domestic carmakers are considering the wide adoption of a third wage level lower than Tier 2. Some workers who do minor tasks like assembling parts trays kits and battery packs already make less than Tier 2, but the UAW will be quite wary about cementing yet another wage scale at the bottom of the system while it's trying to fight a bigger battle at the top. Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works
Fri, 22 Mar 2013When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
Star Wars Car Drives To The Dark Side Of Comic Con
Tue, Jul 22 2014When it comes to designing coveted collectible toys for sale at Comic-Con, the annual celebration of pop culture lifting off Thursday in San Diego, the sky's the limit for the designers at Mattel. Fittingly, the building where Mattel's dreamers conceive of their limited-edition playthings is just down the street from the Los Angeles International Airport. Inside the colorful design center - a Hot Wheels-themed shuttle bus transports employees from Mattel's parking garage - the designers have spent the past year working on 10 toys created especially for the Comic-Con crowd, including a replica of the Batmobile from the upcoming game "Batman: Arkham Knight" and a 9-inch-tall action figure of Superman killer Doomsday. "We don't have to worry about retail. We don't have to worry about margins," said Doug Wadleigh, Mattel's senior vice president of global brand marketing for boys and entertainment. "We don't have to worry about operational efficiencies. We only have to worry about creating the coolest toys for our fans. Period." It also offers some escape from Mattel's reality these days. Like other toy makers struggling in this digital, video-centric age, the company is trying to remain relevant in the retail world. Core brands like Barbie have seen less of a demand, with a 14 percent drop in sales in the first quarter of this year. Mattel had a net loss for the first three months ending March 31 that totaled $11.2 million. But things will at least seem rosier at Comic-Con, where eager buyers for the toys await (the only other place they will be sold is on the Mattel collector's site). Mattel's exclusives this year run between $20 and $85, but elite toys can fetch much more when they're put up for auction. The crown jewel for Wadleigh and his team this year is a Darth Vader die-cast car, the first official collaboration from Hot Wheels and the "Star Wars" franchise. The car - imagine if a Chevrolet Corvette C5 and the villainous Sith lord's helmet had a baby - comes in a sleek black box and encased in a replica of Vader's lightsaber, complete with a swooshing sound effect. "We've been trying to partner with Lucasfilm and Disney on this property for a long time," said Wadleigh. A full-size working replica of the Vadermobile will be on display at Mattel's booth at the massive San Diego Convention Center.
