1965 C-10 SWB Stepside
1965 C-10. A nice driving, good looking old cruiser. I am selling this truck for my friend who is going through a divorce. He now lives in Florida and I rescued this truck form his old house here in NC before his soon to be ex-wife did something with it. I put some work into the truck to bring it to it's current state. The truck has its fair share of dents, dings and scratches, but all in all its a complete and solid old truck. I have done my best to photograph the truck so study the pictures carefully. The 6cyl and 3 speed manual transmission work perfectly. The truck runs, drives, and stops with no issues. The speedometer does work, but I'm not sure if the other gauges do.
The exterior is satin black with a satin white roof. The paint looks to be a few years old as it has chips and scratches is a few places. The passenger door's catch is missing and the door has a small dent where it has hit the front fender. The bed planks are pressure treated pine boards that have been burned with a propane torch to reverse the grains and then stained. The tailgate has some rust through at the top of it (pictured), but it has been painted and doesnt look like it could spread. Personally I would just drive this truck as is because it looks cool. The floor pans had rust issues, but were repaired by the previous owner and are now solid. The blue dot tailights are brand new with drilled bare steel brackets.
The wheels are original steelies that have been stripped to bare steel with the centers painted white, then clear coated. The tires have a ton of tread left, but are starting to crack from age.
The interior is blue and black with an original blue seat that is in great condition. The radio is a newer aftermarket kenwood with speakers placed throughout the cab and works well. The ignition switch needs to be replaced beucause the return spring inside is broken. It still works, you just have to turn the key back to the left once the engine is running. The glass is all good and the windows roll up and dont with no issues. The doors open and shut perfectly.
The engine has been cleaned and painted and has a new battery and air cleaner.
I have listed this as honestly and completely as possible and I am ready to answer any and all questions you might have as I'm sure I missed something. I am proud of my 100% positive feedback and I strive to continue it so bid with confidence. This truck's reserve is low as my friend is just trying to get his money back from the truck. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction's end and full payment is due within 7 days. If you have negative feedback or less than 10 transactions please contact me before bidding or your bid will be cancelled. Please do not contact me with any trade offers.
On May-02-14 at 07:55:02 PDT, seller added the following information: The 1965 Texas License plate does not come with the truck. I installed it to illustrate placement of the plate. On May-03-14 at 19:13:47 PDT, seller added the following information: I have the title in my hand. It is a clean, clear and open North Carolina title. I was asked about the floors, cab corners and cab mounts. The floors and cab corners had rust issues in the past, but have been repaired. You cant even tell the cab corners have been repaired unless you crawl underneath. The cab mounts have rust, but they are still fully functional.
I was able to talk my buddy into lowering the reserve. (I really want my driveway space back) The reserve has been lowered drastically!!! Bid to win. This truck is a great deal for a running and driving '65 c-10. Once again if you have any questions please shoot them my way. |

GM patent reveals new two-stage turbocharger
Fri, Jun 24 2016Modern turbochargers may be some of the best ever made, but performance is something that engineers are always trying to improve. According to GM Inside News, General Motors (GM) is hoping to alleviate some of the negative aspects of a two-stage turbocharger setup with a newly-patented design. The patent, that was filed on May 19, 2016, reveals a clever bypass system that allows the engine, a four-cylinder unit, to optimize both the low-pressure and high-pressure inlets for its respective functions. According to the filing, a conventional two-stage turbocharger setup is engineered to allow both turbines to operate simultaneously at low and mid engine speeds. At high engine speeds, only the low-pressure turbine works. The setup can't isolate either the low or high pressure side, which can impair low-end performance. GM's new two-stage turbocharger setup looks to eliminate this by linking the high-pressure turbo to the exhaust manifold through the high-pressure inlet duct. The low-pressure turbo is attached to the high-pressure turbo by a low-pressure inlet duct, which is linked to a connecting channel. A single actuator that is housed in the exhaust manifold creates a bypass that can opens the high-pressure inlet or close the connecting channel. Depending on what the engine load and speed is, the ECU guides the actuator—a single rotating spindle with discs corresponding to flanges on the high and low pressure sides—to isolate one of the two turbos. Isolating the turbos allow the respective inlets to be engineered for the best possible fluid dynamic performance. The setup should increase performance and decrease lag. There's no word on what car this setup will make an appearance on, but it will most likely be used in premium vehicles before trickling down to the rest of GM's vehicles. Mother's Day Suggestion No. 2,506
Thu, 02 May 2013With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year. Scroll down for the video, but know that the action really gets going at around the 1:40 mark.
Consumer Reports declares most and least loved cars [w/video]
Wed, Dec 3 2014Consumer Reports is crunching the numbers from its annual owner-satisfaction survey, and part of that process is finding out how attached drivers are to their cars. CR simply asks readers of models up to three years old if they would buy the same vehicle again in light of their entire ownership experience, and tallies the results. After looking at the responses for about 350,000 vehicles, it turns out that people really love a certain California-built, electrically powered luxury sedan. That's right, this year's the overall winner was the Tesla Model S with a whopping 98 percent of owners saying they would purchase another one (the Model S also won this award last year, with 99 percent satisfaction). The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray came in a close second with 95 percent of drivers hoping to park another one in their garage. A few models weren't quite so favored, though. The Nissan Versa Sedan was the least loved model among its owners; a mere 42 percent said that they would purchase another. The aging Jeep Compass didn't do much better, with just 43 percent of drivers willing to buy the softroader again. On average, about 70 percent of owners say they would buy their car again, and only four cars ranked below 50 percent in CR's findings. Check out the video above to see some of the winners and losers in a few of CR's categories. If you're a subscriber, you can check out the full list on its website.
