1965 C-10 Heavy Half- Survivor Truck , Amazing Condition on 2040-cars
Kirkland, Washington, United States
Super clean survivor c-10 heavy half
This truck was sold and stayed in Twin Falls ID (dry climate) the first 41 years of its life. Then was bought by a c-10 collector that went thru the low mile truck and drove it 1-2k miles a year. There was 4-5k worth of recent upgrades to keep this a dependable driver. - Truck had a light camper on it for most of its life and was kept covered. The wood is original and amazing condition. There was no dents inside the bed on side walls, tail gate or fender wells. V-8, 4 speed with granny low, manual brake and steering. Drives good on freeway. Much has been done to make the a great driver. I have used it as a daily driver for 3 weeks with no concerns including a few cruises with the car club. All lights, turn signal, horn heater, defroster and dome light works. The temp gauge is not accurate and now has aftermarket under dash gauge. The miles are 85,121k, and are believed to be true. The steering wheel; looks nice, dash is good and all the windows and in good condition including the new shaded windshield. Car has little miles on the tires and shocks. The steering and brakes are firm and tight.and a list of recent services are: -Battery -Tune up & ignition wire sets -Cleaned and serviced radiator & Hoses -New belts -Chrome rally's and new tires -HD gas shocks front and rear -Over sized front sway bar -Vintage look stereo with door speakers ( uncut dash) Windshield and rubber The interior is amazing, not perfect but it is all original. The windows all roll up and down smooth and the doors are all in align and close with ease. I would not hesitate to drive this car as is on a long journey. No water leaks even when left out in the rain. I have sold several of my collector cars and some for friends on e-bay. Please remember although this is the nicest original C-10 Custom cab I have seen in years, it is 49 years old and will have some flaws. After a carfull inspection on the hoist I found light rust starting on the lower corner of drivers fender and old fix on right fender. The rest is great, solid rockers, door bottoms, body and bed mounts, cab corners & ect. Overall a very solid and dry truck! No rattles and handles like a car with the upgraded shocks, and sway bar. - Road tests and inspection are welcome and encouraged. - Steve Fisher 206-755-3420 |

Recharge Wrap-up: Toyota FCV Rally Car To Compete, Barra bullish on Chevy Volt
Fri, Oct 31 2014The Toyota FCV will compete in the last stage of the 2014 Japanese Rally Championship. The sport-tuned hydrogen-powered car will tackle the 177-mile Shinshiro Rally on November 1 and 2, emitting no greenhouse gases in the process. The rally course will help prove the safety of the vehicle before it goes on sale in Japan in the next several months. The Toyota FCV, rumored to be called "Mirai" in Japan, will begin sales there before April, according to Toyota, and in the summer in the US and Europe. Read more in the press release below. Carsharing is becoming more popular, and more visible, throughout the world, including the US. According to WardsAuto columnist John McElroy, 18 percent of US drivers have used some sort of carsharing service. Additionally, he says 60 percent of Americans are familiar with Zipcar and Uber. Mercedes' Harald Kroeger says promotions like free parking for carshares in Stuttgart are encouraging growth for Daimler's carsharing service, Car2go. Read more at WardsAuto. Ethanol is being help up by rail transport, according to ethanol producer Green Plains. More and more stations are carrying E15 blend gasoline, but grain producers have complained that crude oil is given higher priority by the rail lines shipping it, which rail companies deny. Union Pacific and BNSF Railway say they are stepping up service to make sure that ethanol can be shipped reliably to customers. Read more at Omaha World-Herald. General Motors "has placed a significant bet [on] the electrification of the automobile," says CEO Mary Barra. In a speech to the Detroit Economic Club this week, she spoke about the Chevrolet Volt, and its importance to GM's future. While Barra admits the Volt's success has been "not everything we wanted," it has provided experience, and shows that EVs have "an important role in the future of GM." The new Volt is more refined, stores more energy, has longer range, uses less fuel and is a big investment for Michigan. She announced that the new Volt's electric drive system will be built in Warren, and that all of its major components will be made in Michigan. "Silicon Valley doesn't have a corner on the market for innovation, creativity and drive," says Barra. "These qualities exist here – in this region – as well." Mary Barra reportedly confirms GM's electric pickup truck plans
Tue, Apr 30 2019According to Motor Authority, CEO Mary Barra confirmed General Motors' intentions to build an electric pickup truck this week. Whether or not it would be an all-new vehicle is unknown. The news comes not even a week after Ford announced a $500 million investment in electric-vehicle startup Rivian. First, electric powertrains were integrated into cars. Then came the crossovers and the SUVs. Naturally, then, the next wave will be pickup trucks. Ford is set to produce an electric F-150, Rivian has the R1T, and now General Motors has reportedly confirmed its plans to introduce a competitor into the field. The article says the topic was brought up in a recent investor call as part of a brief overview of the automaker's electrification strategy. That's where the details end, however, as there is no indication of a timeline, what GM brand would carry the truck, or whether it would be an entirely new product or an adaptation of a current model. The latter seems most likely, which points to the Chevrolet Silverado or the GMC Sierra as possibilities. Chevrolet has been GM's electrification leader this decade with the Bolt and Volt, so an electric Silverado would align well with that messaging and branding. However, an electric pickup would likely be a pricier premium product, which could align it better with GMC. Autoblog has reached out to GM for comment and will update this space when we get a response. Chevrolet considering midsize crossover to slot between Traverse and Equinox
Mon, Jan 9 2017Crossovers are the new hotness, and automakers are looking to cash in by offering a size and shape for every customer. With Chevrolet's debut of the new 2018 Traverse in Detroit, which grew ever so slightly compared to the first-generation model, there is now a midsize-crossover-sized hole between the three-row Traverse and the compact Equinox. When asked about that obvious space, a Chevrolet spokesperson told us the company is looking into the possibility of expanding its crossover lineup. It should be a relatively simple thing to do, since all it would take is reskinning and rechristening the GMC Acadia with a bow tie, and we all know how much GM loves platform sharing. Although they're now different sizes, the new Acadia and Traverse still use the same platform; the Acadia is now on a short-wheelbase version of the C1XX while the Traverse uses long-wheelbase C1XX parts. A short-wheelbase Chevy built on the C1XX likely would be differentiated visually from both the Acadia and the larger Traverse. It may seem like flooding the lineup with more and more models would cannibalize sales of existing ones, but Chevrolet said it would rather have customers stay within the brand rather than going to another automaker. There have been whispers that some form of the Blazer name (possibly TrailBlazer) may make a return on a midsizer, but if it does don't expect an old-school body-on-frame SUV like the old one. In the end, if Chevy builds it, customers will come. Related Video:
