1964 Chevrolet C10, fleet-side longbed 1/2 ton pickup.

This truck looks as though it could be sitting in a dealership in 1964, it looks that good.

Frame-off restoration in light green with a fawn interior. It has a numbers-matching 230 cubic-inch six-cylinder with 3 speed manual (column shift) and a 4.11 10 bolt differential.

Appearance: Showroom. Body-off restoration was done several years ago by a competent firm in Missouri where the truck originates. Must be seen to appreciate. No dings, no dents, no scratches. There is one paint chip, where the lift-gate hook contacted the lift-gate. It is the size of President Kennedy's head on the dime. There is also some light crazing on the doors, but you can only see it if the light is just right. It can not be captured on film, or I would photograph it. Other that that, I can't find any blemishes.

Garage kept and totally pampered. Not driven in rain.

You could eat off this truck: the engine bay, the underbody, anywhere. This truck is special.

Mechanical condition: Everything works. No leaks. The truck runs like a champion. Included in the sale are all records I have from previous owner. 1964 owners manual, and LMK Truck Parts catalog that this truck was featured on the cover.

The odometer reads 64,483, but as the title states, "Mileage exceeds the odometer mechanical limits."

Included documentation: Includes provenance documentation going back two owners.

What makes this car special? The fact that it is 100% stock and has no options: no radio, one sun visor, no arm rests, manual steering, manual brakes. If you just want a truck, this is the definition-pure and simple.

Auction includes two excellent condition (front & rear) California black plates if truck is going to be registered in California.

Truck also has Lo-Jack (transferable to next owner) and includes two Lo-Jack key fobs.

Truck is available for your inspection, or inspection by a third party on your behalf, on the Westside of Los Angeles.

Truck is sold as is. No warranty or guarantee expressed or implied.

Truck is for sale locally and seller reserves the right to end auction at any time. The winning bidder should contact me after the close of the auction and the deposit payment submitted to my Paypal account within 48 hours of the close of the auction. Full payment required within seven days of the close of the auction by certified check or money order, or cash in person. Personal checks are not accepted.

Prompt pickup and prompt email replies will earn positive feedback.

First-edition Detroit muscle raises millions for charity at Barrett-Jackson

Mon, Jan 19 2015

Amidst all the classic metal crossing the auction block each year in Scottsdale, AZ, Detroit automakers have a tradition of donating the first examples of their most enticing new muscle cars, with the proceeds of their sales going towards worthwhile charities. This year, Barrett-Jackson handled three noteworthy examples. The highest price among them was the first Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang with the VIN #001, which raised $1 million for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. General Motors donated the first new Chevy Corvette Z06 Convertible, the first retail example of the droptop supercar garnering $800,000 for the United Way. Along with the Z06, GM also donated the first new 2016 Cadillac CTS-V sedan, which brought in $170,000 for Detroit's College for Creative Studies. Although these were the headline Motown muscle machines furnished by the automakers themselves, they weren't the only vehicles auctioned off for worthy causes. A 1950 GM Futurliner bus donated by collector Ron Pratte led the charge when it brought in $4.65 million for the Armed Forces Foundation. Other lots included a custom Jeep Wrangler donated by SEMA ($85k), a new M5 donated by BMW ($800k), a '79 Oldsmobile Cutlass Hurst ($140k), '39 Cadillac LaSalle C-Hawk ($410k), Jeff Gordon's 1999 NASCAR-spec Chevy Monte Carlo ($500k) and a Victory Cross Country 8-Ball motorcycle ($180k). All told, the charity lots raised over $8.7 million for local and national charities. Chevy Crossvolt name kept alive in new trademark application

Fri, Dec 26 2014

In April 2011 General Motors submitted a trademark application with the US Patent and Trademark Office for the word "Crossvolt." In November of this year, the application expired for lack of a statement of use. But in August of this year, GM applied again for the same trademark, leading some to believe that it intends to apply the name to a vehicle. That vehicle could explain the mule in sliced-and-diced Chevrolet Orlando bodywork caught in several spy shots this year, theorized to be some kind of Toyota Prius V or Ford C-Max Hybrid competitor; or it could be a production version of the Chevrolet Volt MP5 concept showed off at the Beijing Motor Show in 2010, which was about the same size as the Chevy Orlando. Or it could be none of those things – but the fact that Chevrolet is keeping it current makes us believe it will be... something. GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.
