1964 Chevy C-10 This truck is a real head-turner. Fun to take to car shows, and to just drive around. For a daily driver, this truck is a real nice condition. Gets lots of attention everywhere I go. It runs and drives well, and is always very dependable. If your looking for a well maintained 1964 Chevy C-10 short wheel base fleetside truck, this could be the one. The engine is a 350 with a recently rebuilt 350 transmission (have paperwork to prove it). Power steering, Power brakes, Air-conditioning (needs re-charge). The power steering gearbox was recently replaced, and it's had a recent tune up (points, plugs, wires, rotor, cap). New starter. New AM/FM Cassette Stereo with Ipod connection (looks old school). The truck sits on a new set of BF Goodrich TA 275/60R15 radials. Sliding rear window. Bed liner. Paint is in good condition but again, this isn't a show car. I do drive it on weekends. Truck is solid. It has a few minor paint bubbles in the usual places, but THIS IS NOT A RUST BUCKET!! A few blemishes in the paint here and there, but very minor (those darn tailgate chains!). A good buffing would make it shine. A few things need attention (but nothing major). The windshield wiper switch is touchy. It works, but detents are worn down. I've added aftermarket gauges below the dash, but haven't finished hooking up the oil pressure gauge (the idiot light on the dash still works though). Parking brake cable is sticky, and the dome light lens needs to be replaced. Take a look at the photos. I have over 60 photos. If you want to see more, I'm happy to email them to you. Please ask all questions, and I'll get right back to you. This truck is being sold as is, were is, and the buyer is responsible for transportation and for shipping. I reserve the right to end the Auction at any time as the truck is for sale locally. Bid with confidence, you won't be disappointed

GM program sees dealers taking on way more loaner cars
Wed, Dec 17 2014Given the volume of vehicles we're talking about, this is a significant development for GM's bottom line. Bring your car into the dealership for service, and you may need a loaner car in exchange. And with so many recalls being carried out, that means a lot of loaners – especially at General Motors dealerships. That could be one of the reasons why GM is massively expanding its loaner fleet program. While many Chevrolet and Buick-GMC dealerships have an on-site rental car location operated by a third party like Enterprise (which may or may not provide a GM vehicle), others manage their own loaner fleets. But while the range of dealerships operating such fleets was once small, reports Automotive News, the number has been growing rapidly: from the locations responsible for only 20 percent of those brands' sales two years ago to about 90 percent today. The impetus for that growth comes down to a massive expansion of GM's Courtesy Transportation Program. The initiative encourages dealers to ramp up their loaner fleet to a maximum size determined by GM, with a mix determined by the dealer itself, so that a showroom in Texas can be bolstered with a fleet of pickup trucks and a dealer in California can employ more Volt and Camaro Convertible loaners. The dealership gets a $500 credit for each vehicle its puts in its fleet, and can use those vehicles as loaners for service customers, as multi-day test drivers or to rent out separately. The vehicles remain in the dealer's fleet for 90 days or 7,500 miles, then they can be sold as used, but with new-car incentives. The dealer gets a fleet of loaners, customers get to use the loaners, try out a new car overnight or buy a barely used car with attractive incentives, and GM gets to clock more sales. But therein lies the kicker: the automaker counts the dispatch of the loaner new vehicle to the dealership as a new-car sale, which could end up distorting its sales figures. Counting loaner vehicles as sold vehicles is something of an industry-standard practice, but given the volume of vehicles we're talking about, this is a significant development for GM's bottom line. One dealership - Paddock Chevrolet in Kenmore, NY, for example - had no loaner fleet two years ago, but now runs a fleet of 50 vehicles. Multiply that by the 4,000 or so dealers GM has across America and you're talking about the potential for hundreds of thousands of these sorts of sales.
C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey
Mon, 25 Feb 2013If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.
Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.
2014 Chevrolet SS makes its live debut
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Chevrolet showed off the new 2014 SS in an airport hangar last night, its first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan in the US since the Impala SS from 1997. We'll have more to say about the SS later today, but this is the sedan that Chevrolet sees as the final piece in restoring its performance credentials. For those of you looking for a manual transmission, however, that wish will go unfulfilled - at least for now: the only two options buyers will have are the color and whether or not they want a sunroof.
We'll work on getting some more angles (in better light) today at Daytona International Speedway, but with fans seeing the car for the first time, we don't hold out much luck of getting a clear shot. So for now, enjoy the high-res gallery above.
