This truck has a TON of new parts! Everything that was broken, missing, or junky was replaced. Here's the
list of new parts:
New windshield with built in tint strip, new cab corners, rocker panels, floor pans, front fenders, door seals, door window felts, vent window
gaskets, windshield gaskets, rear window gaskets, rear chrome bumper, front chrome bumper, headlight chrome trim rings, pressure treated pine
bed that was stained and polyeurathaned, tail lights, interior carpet, seat looks reupholstered not very long ago, outside door handles, inside door
handles, inside window crank handles, rebuilt brake pads, hardware, wheel cylinders, front and rear brake lines, heatercore, fan motor, I rebuilt
the 305 CI Engine myself. Also has lots of new chrome parts - chrome valve covers, chrome 2 groove pulleys, chrome fan shroud, chrome mirrors,
chrome alternator and alternator bracket, antenna, chrome air cleaner, chrome oil pan, chrome headers, floor mats, tinted windows, front and rear
Futura tires, starter, new 2 1/2 inch half exhaust, yellow Moroso plug wires, fuel pump.
Engine is a 305 SBC engine that is rebuilt, new rings, bearings, gaskets. It has an aftermarket Lunati cam, Edelbrock 750 CFM carburetor, factory
aluminum intake, rebuilt HEI distributor, new oil pump, timing set. I don't remember what the head castings #'s are, but they were the desirable
smaller chamber head. The motor runs good.
The transmission is a TH-350 with new filter and screen, the torque converter is new, hooked to a B & M shifter. The factory 12 bolt rear end has
new fluid and chrome cover. The frame is painted black and is in excellent shape. Springs are 3" McGaophys lowering springs. The front end
is tight and all original, steering shaft has a new donut installed. I painted the truck metallic blue myself, from 1 to 10, the paint job on
the truck is about a 7 1/2. Bodywork is good.
Factory 6 lug wheels are in good shape. I test drove the truck about 4 miles, it rides really good, runs good, and shifts fine. No overheating.
Starts right up every time. Everything on this truck works except the horn and blinker switch in the steering column, you will have to get
one of those. The truck has no radio. I had to make my own hubcap adapters to run these hubcaps, they work fine. Heat and defrost work well.
I have a lot of time, money, and effort in this truck. This is not a $60,000 Barret Jackson truck. It's a good all around truck. Please email me with
any questions. The truck has about 4 miles on it. This will be a no reserve auction starting at $9,999.00. ***I am not one of those people that have
their buddy drive up the bids, so no worries here *** Good luck and Happy Bidding!!!

Next-gen Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra may use carbon fiber
Thu, Dec 7 2017It's been generally accepted that the next generation of full-size GM trucks will use some sort of strong, lightweight material for the beds while retaining steel for the cab. While aluminum seems like the most obvious choice, according to Automotive News, the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra will incorporate both aluminum and carbon fiber in their beds. The publication cites sources from within GM, though it seems the introduction of this comparatively exotic material mix is still a few years off. While carbon fiber is both stronger and lighter than steel and aluminum, it takes significantly more time and money to produce, essentially relegating the material to small-volume cars. The main benefit for trucks is the resulting reduction in weight to improve fuel economy without sacrificing the tough, rugged capabilities truck buyers expect. The Ford F-150 made the switch to aluminum for the 2015 model year and it's proved highly successful. It seemed like it was only a matter of time before the competition followed suit. Automotive News says that the next-gen trucks will launch with aluminum beds and that it will take a couple of years before we'll see any carbon fiber incorporated into the design. Even then, only look for the composite material on higher-trim models, with a trickle down to lower-spec trucks possible further in the future. In 2011, GM announced it was working with Japan-based Teijin Limited on a carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic. There's a good chance that material's introduction will be on trucks. Weekly Recap: GM plans massive new paint shop at Chevy Corvette factory
Sat, May 23 2015General Motors is laying out some serious green to maintain the Chevy Corvette's expansive color palette. The automaker is breaking ground on a new paint shop this summer that's part of a $439-million investment to upgrade the 34-year-old Bowling Green, KY, factory that builds the Stingray. The massive new structure will total 450,000 square feet, nearly half the size of the current 1-million square-foot facility. Construction is expected to take two years and won't impact Corvette production. The upgrades include new robots that save paint and create a better finish, longer, more efficient ovens to bake in the finish, and LED lighting. There's also a dry scrubbing booth technology with a limestone handling system that eliminates waste. GM has invested $135 million in the factory in last four years for the changeover to build the C7 and to relocate its Performance Build Center to Bowling Green. The improvements continue to modernize the Kentucky factory, which has become a tourist attraction in its own right, as more than 56,000 enthusiasts visited it last year. The upgrades are part of a $5.4-billion investment GM confirmed in April that will remake its US footprint in the next three years. The Bowling Green expansion underscores GM's continued commitment to the Corvette, which sold nearly 38,000 copies around the world last year, an eight-year high. "With this major technology investment, we can continue to exceed the expectations of sports car buyers for years to come," North American manufacturing manager Arvin Jones said in a statement. OTHER NEWS & NOTES Takata recall hits 34 million vehicles The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration expanded the Takata airbag recall to an almost unthinkable 34 million vehicles on Tuesday. The recall is part of an agreement reached by the two sides where Takata admitted some of its airbag inflators have a defect, and the deal compels the company to comply with all future regulatory actions and investigations. Takata's airbag inflators were produced with "a propellant that can degrade over time" and lead to ruptures, NHTSA said. Six deaths have been attributed to the flaw worldwide. Investigations conducted by Takata, automakers, and others have not determined the exact cause of the inflator problem, but NHTSA said moisture appears to alter the propellant's chemical structure. It then ignites too rapidly, creates too much pressure that ruptures the inflator, and blasts shards of metal at passengers.
Motor Trend puts Chevy Camaro Z28 and Porsche 911 GT3 Head 2 Head
Mon, Dec 29 2014Motor Trend admits, "This is an unfair comparison." But that doesn't make it any less fun to watch when they pit a Camaro Z/28 against the Porsche 911 GT3. The former has a 7.0-liter V8 with 505 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque shifted through a six-speed manual. The latter has a 3.8-liter flat-six with 475 hp and 324 lb-ft shifted through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Yet those are only the little disparities – the big disparities are mass and money: the Camaro weighs 3,882 pounds and costs $76,150 as-tested, the Porsche weighs 3,267 pounds and costs $145,785. But they're both about hardcore performance, so MT takes them out on the street, to the drag strip, to the parking lot for figure eights and a skidpad test, and finally to Big Willow for Randy Pobst to give his professional assessment. Remember when a lotta people spent a lotta time debating Pirates vs. Ninjas? This is like that, only it's the "haul-ass good-time car" vs. the "track surgeon." Enjoy the debate in the video.
