1999 Blazer Zr2 Project on 2040-cars
Somerset, Kentucky, United States
Selling my project Blazer. Its a 1999 ZR2 that I was working on swapping a 2002 Silverado 5.3 V8 into. The 4L60E transmission was completely rebuilt and only has about 60miles on it. The motor only had 140k highway miles and was running when pulled from the wrecked Silverado. All of the interior options were working on the Blazer power windows, locks sunroof and AC, aside from the Drivers power seat. I had replaced the timing chain, distributor and done a full tune up on the 4.3 before it quit. The interior is very clean and the exterior has a few small dents but nothing major. I have the complete 5.3 Votec V8 motor with accessories and wiring harness plus computer along with the stock 4.3 V6. I have the 4.3 wiring harness computer and all accessories. I have the stock AC compressor and lines. The system was working properly before it was drained. I have a set of Current performance ZR2 swap Stainless steel headers with DEI Header wrap, CPW motor mounts and their H3 oil pan. Russell steel braided lines and quick disconnect fittings. A pair of Derale Heavy duty 12" electric fans. I'm quitting this project because its taken longer then I expected to complete and I need a running car for work. The price includes shipping. If your local and want to tow it home yourself just take 1300.00 off the buy it now price. DAS Shipping is the company I use for shipping vehicles and got a quote. When shipped I will clean and wrap the old 4.3 and all accessories and bag it in the Blazer trunk. Any questions just ask

2014 Chevy Cruze Diesel destined for Chicago debut
Mon, 28 Jan 2013It's been a little over a year and a half since General Motors first confirmed plans to offer a diesel-powered Chevrolet Cruze here in the United States, and we've now learned that the oil-burning compact will debut under the lights of the Chicago Auto Show in February. According to GM Authority, the Cruze Eco-D will be introduced as part of the entire 2014 model year Cruze range, set to go on sale in the second quarter of this year.
Earlier reports have indicated that the diesel Cruze will be able to achieve fuel economy numbers in the range of 50 miles per gallon. For comparison, the similarly sized Volkswagen Jetta TDI is rated at 30/42 mpg city/highway, but as we found out in our long-term test of the 2011 model, hitting 50 mpg was a piece of cake.
Official specifications will be released at the time of the 2014 Cruze's unveiling, though reports have stated that the sedan will be powered by a reworked version of the 2.0-liter turbo-diesel inline-four found in the Holden Cruze CDX overseas. In that application, the four-pot oil-burner produces 160 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque - increases of 20 hp and 29 lb-ft over the 2.0-liter engine used in VW's Jetta TDI.

Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.
