You are buying a very nice 1997 Chevy S-10 Blazer with all the goodies. It is a very nice metallic green, 4 door SUV. The truck needs rear ring and pinion gears. I just put a transmission in it less than 5000 miles ago. Truck has a new water pump, belts, hoses, fresh oil change, tags good until June 2014. Small runner crack in windshield that does not interfere with your vision. No cracks on dash board. Truck has some minor wear due to age but is nicer than most. You won't be disappointed.
EVERYTHING WORKS PERFECTLY!!    MAKE ME AN OFFER!!!!

FACTORY OPTIONS INCLUED;
Electronic 4X4 with shift on the fly and it works perfectly
Power door locks, windows, mirrors, brakes (new pads) and steering
Rear window wiper and defroster
Anti-Lock brakes
Full gauge package and they all work perfectly
Tachometer
tilt wheel
Cruise control
Kenwood Stereo with CD player (removable faceplate)
intermittent wipers (new blades)
map lights on driver and passenger side
Vanity mirrors
Ice Cold A/C
Rain guards on front windows (have new one for the driver side)
Remote rear hatch release
60/40 fold down rear seats
Cargo cover in back
Rhino Liner coating on bumpers
After market seat covers, mats, steering wheel cover
This has been a really good truck for me and a I have babied it for the last 6 years. Oil every 3000 and I service it myself regularly. Just put a tranny in less than 5000 miles ago and don't have the time or the inclination to do the rear end. I live inn the mountains near Lake Arrowhead, CA and it is getting to be snow season and it will get towed from the street if I don't move it (and you know who is on my tail to "get rid of that thing"). Body is pretty much perfect with one small ding below passenger side rocker panel (in picture). You will be getting a good truck if you are willing too spend a day doing the gears. If I had a garage I would do it myself.

I will require a PayPal $500 deposit within 24 hours of auction ending and the rest upon pick up. If you need to ship I will assist you to the extent that I can. You may call and leave a message with your cell# at 909-337-7186. Please leave your number as I don't speak due to an old bout with throat cancer so I have to text rather than call. Hope you understand.
I hate to sell the old girl but it is what it is.

Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK BIDDING, Hutch

GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.
