For sale a 1994 S10 blazer 4x4 4 door. Has a few ups and a few downs. I put some time in to this truck for a friend who needed it to get thru some hard times and now he does not need it anymore so I am selling it.

General features:
4.3L V6 200HP model Not the standard 4.3L This thing really moves. auto trains, 4x4 (not functional yet, read below)
Power steering, windows, locks, mirrors, brakes, full power driver seat (all works!) Power lumbar pass seat.
Pioneer CD radio with USB and AUX supports Ipod and all new speakers.
Roof rack, aluminum wheels, overhead console with reading lights.

The good:
Engine runs great, well maintained. Transmission shifts well and drives like it should. Oil cooler lines replaced. New intake (stock). New fan clutch. Passes NJ state emissions with a GOOD inspection sticker. No SES.
Driver side fender replaced with a clean used fender, pass side fender brand new. Both units were painted and have no rust.
Dash wiring repaired properly after removing non functional alarm/remote start system.
Rear lift glass has new struts so it stays open when you lift it up.
Front end has all new ball joints, sway bar bushings etc. New front bearings left and right.
NO water leaks on driver or passenger side floor. Common issue I have had in the past with these trucks. I sealed the holes in the driver and passenger side kick panels properly when I replaced the fenders. You will not have puddles in this truck or that moldy smell!
Has new exhaust system replaced cat back with a high flow muffler.
Interior in decent shape. Seats are still comfy and pretty clean. Dash is not too bad but has a crack in the vinyl above the radio.

The bad:
4x4 not functional. Drive shaft was removed, but I have a replacement shaft. 4x4 diff lock cable is frozen but I also have a new cable for that also. Encoder motor does work and shift as I can get it to shift to 4Low and back to 2Hi. The cable and drive shaft will be included with the truck.

Both rear power windows need new motors.
Driver side and passenger side front doors have new window motors but driver side window needs new tracks but window is functional.
Driver side door key tumbler does not work, but passenger side does so you just need to unlock the passenger door via key. All power locks will lock and unlock without any trouble.
Everything that has to do with the tailgate electrically does not work. The defroster and rear wiper do not work. The tailgate does open and close with the key just fine though.

SHIPPING:
I do NOT have resources to ship a vehicle. It is your responsibility to arrange shipping to pick the vehicle up. If you live within 50 miles of here I can arrange to drive the vehicle to you or meet you halfway somewhere to exchange title and cash. I only deal with US residents. Thank you.

GM announces 3 new recalls affecting 1.7M vehicles in North America [w/video]

Mon, Mar 17 2014

Still embroiled in the ongoing ignition switch recall, General Motors announced today three more discrete recalls, affecting a grand total of 1,546,900 vehicles in the US. The Detroit News reports that some 1.7 million vehicles are affected overall in North America. The first and largest of the trio of new recalls concerns some 1.18-million Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia crossovers from the 2008-2013 model years, Chevrolet Traverse from 2009-2013 (pictured above) and Saturn Outlook vehicles from 2008-2010. All of the crossover utilities may have an issue with the wiring harness for their seat-mounted side airbags. Apparently, the vehicles are equipped with a Service Air Bag warning light that, if ignored, "will eventually result in the non-deployment of the side impact restraints." Those restraints include the side airbags, a front-center airbag if the vehicle is so equipped and seatbelt pretensioners. Dealers of affected vehicles will be instructed to remove driver and passenger side airbag wiring harness connectors, and then "splice and solder the wires together." The second recall affects 303,000 Chevrolet Express (pictured right) and GMC Savana vans from model years 2009-2014, and with gross vehicle weights under 10,000 pounds. Said vehicles do not comply with a head impact requirement for unrestrained occupants, and will need a reworking of the instrument panel material to be sent back on the road. It doesn't sound as though there's a quick fix for this one, as the GM press release states: "Unsold vehicles have been placed on a stop delivery until development of the solution has been completed and parts are available." Finally, the third recall affects 63,900 Cadillac XTS luxury sedans from model years 2013 and 2014. A brake booster pump may be susceptible to corrosion by way of the relay, potentially causing and electrical short, overheating, melting of plastic components and even engine fires. GM says it is aware of two engine fires in unsold XTS models and two cases of melted parts. Repairs for the issues affecting the XTS have not not mentioned by GM in the release. The Detroit News is also reporting that along with news of the triple-recall, GM is taking a $300-million credit to help pay for the repair costs, and to deal with the ongoing costs associated with the ignition switch recall. In an attempt to explain just what GM has been doing in the face of these very serious issues, newly minted CEO Mary Barra has addressed the issues in a new video.

Hot air balloons caught in high winds drag fullsize SUV

Mon, Jul 20 2015

A sudden storm front whipped up enough wind to send some hot air balloons flying into the air in Wisconsin over the weekend. One ballon proved so energetic that it was able to drag a fullsize SUV across a field and into a stand of tents. The freak accident occurred at Balloonfest in Waterford, Wisconsin. Spectators were horrified as balloons dragged handlers to the ground and launched with terrified pilots clinging to their baskets. Organizers had started packing up the colorful balloons due to ominous storm clouds when the wind kicked up. "Happened just like that; it was crazy," Nathan Fricke, crew member, told Fox 6. Winds were clocked at 40 to 50 miles per hour. A balloon caught in the wind dragged a large SUV (we think a Suburban or Yukon XL) hundreds of feet and into a cluster of tents on the edge of the staging area where balloons were on display for festival goers. Considering that the SUV surely weighs well over 5,000 pounds, it's lucky that no one was injured in the incident. News Source: Fox6Now Weird Car News Chevrolet GM GMC SUV

Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.
