For sale is a very well preserved 1988 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer 4x4 with the “S-10 Sport” Package. It has the 4.3 liter V6 fuel injected engine with automatic transmission. There are 276k miles on the car, though it doesn’t show it one bit. The engine runs strong with no smoke or problems. Automatic transmision shifts smoothly as it should. This blazer started out its life as being driven by a traveling salesman for approximately 8 years. 273k miles were put on it during that time. Then it was retired and stored inside for the next 17 years. Prior to storage, it had major mechanical work done, along with brand new paint job by Green Chevrolet, a local Chevy dealer. The car dealer (who had bought it from the original owner) said the owner had dumped over 7 grand into bringing it back to life. Unfortunately, I do not have any receipts concerning all the work it had done in the past. I even asked my trusted mechanic who has 35 years experience and he could tell me that it had a considerable amount of work done in the past. The paint was very well done and along with that, the undercarriage was undercoated. Fast forward 17 years later... I noticed it being for sale in a local auto trader catalog and went to look at it. I was immediately amazed how great it ran and how stunning it looked. There is no rust and the interior is immaculate as well, near perfect and completely stock; all down to the original floor mats and radio. All seats are in perfect shape, with no rips, tears or stains. The carpet is also stain free and in excellent shape. It has power locks and windows which all work. This blazer has been well maintained all of its life and that’s why it is in such good shape today. 4x4 works great. The tires are in great shape and have lots of tread left. I had just put a NOS Blazer tire cover on the back which looks great. This is one of the few remaining blazers that is mechanically sound and isn't missing the lower 6 inches. I'm not trying to make anything on this car, just get what I have in it. I just want someone to appreciate it for what it is; they don't make cars like this anymore. Email with any questions. FYI...I am a 17 year old boy who just discovered speed, this car, although amazing, no longer fits my needs. Thanks for reading.

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.
This 450-hp electric Lotus Evora is powered by Tesla and Chevrolet
Tue, May 9 2017When someone mentions an electric Lotus, the first thing that comes to mind is the Tesla Roadster, the California-based automaker's first vehicle. That car started life as an Elise before being heavily massaged and adapted by Tesla's engineers. In a similar spirit, the people at Onpoint Dyno are close to finishing Blue Lightning, a track-ready all-electric Lotus Evora. Blue Lightning uses a Tesla drive unit and a Chevrolet Volt battery pack, both mounted in the middle in place of the Evora's 3.5-liter Toyota V6. It's putting down about 450 horsepower at the wheels. The car was built for time attack sessions, so power is fed through custom forged wheels and super sticky Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires, the same ones found on the last Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. There is a custom digital instrument cluster in place of the Lotus gauges. There's also a regen paddle on the left side of the steering wheel. With a full charge, Blue Lighting should go about 120 miles. While the car runs under its own power, it's only about 90 percent complete. It has no power steering, no firewall in between the seats and the motor and battery pack, no A/C, and a large hole where the shift lever used to be. Other final touches include fine-tuning the brakes and suspension. There is also a custom rear bumper coming that should make it look more like the new Lotus Evora 400. Onpoint Dyno expects the car to hit the track in the next month or so. Related Video:
EcoCar3 will convert Camaro to bitchin' eco rides
Sat, Apr 26 2014In the 47-year-history of the Chevrolet Camaro, there have been countless college-age kids spending a ton of time getting under the hood and souping 'em up. Now, General Motors is adding a twist to the concept by donating 16 Camaros for the EcoCar challenge that puts university teams together to wring out better fuel-efficiency out of various vehicles. No word on whether there will be donuts on anyone's lawn, as suggested by 80's punks the Dead Milkmen, but the idea's never a bad one. EcoCar3 will feature 16 teams such as Arizona State, Penn State, Ontario's University of Waterloo and, of course, Detroit's Wayne State University. They'll spend the next four years "[reducing] environmental impact, while maintaining the muscle and performance expected from this iconic American car," as the EcoCar organizers say. The goal is to maintain body design and safety standards while boosting efficiency and lowering emissions, but the actual process is far more complicated than that description suggests. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Bosch are among the sponsors of the contest, which is also put on by the US Department of Energy and managed by Argonne National Laboratory. Penn State won Year Two of the three-year EcoCar 2 competition with its E85 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle converted out of a Chevy Malibu. The grand-prize winner of EcoCar2 will be announced in June. Check out the EcoCar3 website and see the announcement video below for more details. This content is hosted by a third party.
