1972 CHEVY K5 BLAZER

Hard to find them this nice any more especially at the reasonably low reserve I've set.  This is a SOLID, SOLID, SOLID K5 that is in great shape.  NO Rust or Rot anywhere.  No bondo or body filler.  Original metal throughout.  Nice lift and brand new wheels and brand new BFGoodrich tires.  Runs and drives good.  Strong motor with no smoking or leaking of any fluids.  The underside is as clean as the outside and the interior is in great shape as well.  Garage kept and well maintained.

The pictures speak for themselves.  The paint shows very well but has your typical stone chip here and there.   I just cut, buffed, and waxed the truck so it looks better than the pictures show that I took last week for this listing.  These K5's continue to go up in value the harder they are to find.  Don't miss a great buy on this one.  I've seen others on ebay (in what I would consider worse condition) selling in the upper teens.  My reserve is set well below that.  You can't go wrong with this K5 as an investment.  Bid to win !!

The buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements but I will do whatever I can on my end to help that go smooth.  Please have the money in hand before bidding.  If your feedback is less than 10 please contact me before bidding or I will cancel your bid.  Keep in mind that the vehicle is 43 years old (as pretty as it is) and it is being sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied.  I'm open to entertaining offers and will end the auction if a fair offer is made that makes us both happy.  Please, no lowballers.

Good Luck!!

I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime for any reason.

The Volt Dance had precedent; meet the Chevy Footlockers

Sun, Dec 14 2014

Marketing in the auto industry can get weird sometimes – really quite bizarre, in fact. For example, remember the Chevy Volt dance from the 2009 Los Angles Auto Show? If not, a group boogied to a song about the electric car, and it was every bit as awkward (and hilarious) as that sounds. In fact, that innocent bit of promotion lives in infamy, as some pundits grabbed hold of it during General Motors' bailout and asked why America's tax dollars were going to such things. The Chicago Auto Show has been digging through its vault of vintage videos, and it has come up with something that might actually be worse than that Volt-themed routine. They're called the Chevy Footlockers, and they're a dance troupe somehow promoting the Cavalier at the 1988 Chicago show. The connection between the car and their routine is unclear, but it's gloriously cheesy in a Chippendales-meets-AC Slater sort of way. Also, there are props towards the end, but we aren't going to spoil them for you, because you just have to watch for yourself. As a bonus, there's another (brief) clip below showing a female dance group with the Geo Tracker at the '91 Chicago show, and they sing, too. Scroll down to watch both of these oddities. The Jitterbugs somersaulted at the 1986 Chicago Auto Show for the Chevy Nova

Tue, Dec 30 2014

Judging by the vintage videos that the Chicago Auto Show has been uploading, if you wanted to check out the latest vehicles and watch some dancers in the same place in the late '80s and early '90s, then the Windy City event was definitely the place to be. We've already seen the Footlockers pitching the Cavalier in '88 and a troupe of women singing about the Geo brand in '91. Apparently, the trend went back even further, though. Just take a look at this group called the Jitterbugs selling some badge-engineered products from Chevrolet at the 1986 show. Flanked by the Chevy Nova and Spectrum, these guys managed to do a few pretty impressive jumps and somersaults but mixed them with some rather uninspired spins, as well. Also, wait for 1:24 into the clip to see the least enthusiastic backup dancers that the world has ever known. The Jitterbugs are even further proof that Chevy's habit of mixing dancing and its vehicles goes back even further than the Volt. It won't be long now before Nissan Leaf finally overtakes Chevy Volt

Thu, Dec 25 2014

The two best-selling plug-in vehicles ever are the Chevy Volt and the Nissan Leaf. When the two vehicles launched in late 2010, the plug-in hybrid Volt quickly outpaced the all-electric Leaf and, despite lots of ups and downs since then, continues to hold on to a cumulative sales lead. This will change in 2015. Cumulatively, from November 2010 through November 2014, the Volt sold 71,867 units while the Leaf trails with 69,220. That's a difference of just 2,647. Based on current trends (with the Leaf selling around 2,500-2,700 a month and the Volt at 1,500-1,700) we expect the Leaf to take over either in January or, more likely, February when the Leaf takes over as the most popular plug-in car in America. Perhaps even March, depending on how low the numbers are for January and February, which are always slow sales months in the US. Of course, once it takes the crown, the Leaf can't expect to easily hold on for long. A new Volt is coming in the second half of 2015, likely beating a new Leaf to market. The question is, then, how well the Chevy sells with all of its new bells and whistles. Do you think the Volt will be the comeback kid once the 2016 model becomes available?
