SELLER REMARKS |

If you thought you'd never be able to afford the Shoebox Chevy of your dreams, this 1955 Chevrolet 210 2-door might change your mind. Built in 2000, it's remarkably well-preserved, offers small block power, and a 4-speed transmission to make a fantastic cruiser that more than lives up to your expectations.
The look is timeless and you never see a guy driving 1955 Chevy without a smile on his face. This one was restored and modified to be a fantastic combination of show and go, and the emerald green paint has a wonderful glow. With two doors, it has a sleek look that's recognizable from three blocks away and despite being a few years old, the finish is still shiny and bright. It's not quite a 1955 color, but the mild resto-mod look gives it a unique look that's tasteful. The 210 trim is a little less flashy than the Bel Air, but there are plenty of guys who believe less is more and the bright stainless steel details are in great shape. The lack of two-tone paint gives it a more modern look and the excellent panel gaps certainly help.
Black vinyl covers the interior, but it's not that cheap, shiny stuff, but rather a more upscale material that does a pretty good impersonation of leather. Original bench seats, pleated door panels, and the original dashboard make it feel enough like 1955 that you'll get all nostalgic every time you drive it, and the 4-speed shifter will remind you that performance is part of the equation, too. A Kenwood AM/FM/cassette stereo radio replaces the factory's AM radio, but that's really the lone upgrade in this neat old Chevy. Original gauges show bright, crisp markings and are joined by a set of auxiliary dials under the dash and for being nearly 15 years old, the seating surfaces are in remarkable condition. The trunk tells you all you need to know about the workmanship, as every surface is covered in shiny emerald green paint, and there's also a correct rubber mat and full-sized spare tire.
This car, being a Chevy, naturally features a small block V8, in this case a 350 cubic incher. With an .060 overbore, steel crank, a big camshaft, and 327/300 heads, it's a stout small block that doesn't mind stomping around once in a while. A Weiand intake and Edelbrock 4-barrel handle the intake duties while an Accel dual-point distributor lights the fires. Chevy Orange paint, some chrome dress up parts, and minimal clutter make the engine bay easy to service and there's an original master cylinder on the firewall, so it's not too far removed from original. With a Borg-Warner 4-speed manual transmission feeding the original rear end, it's a blast to drive around town and cruises happily at highway speeds. The underside is in good order and with a throaty dual exhaust system it has a great old-school hot rod sound. Rally wheels are always a great choice with a Bowtie and they carry 215/75/15 whitewall radials.
So here's your chance, a very clean, straight, nicely built '55 Chevy at a very affordable price. Enjoy it, upgrade it, whatever you want, but good ones aren't getting any easier to find. Call today!

Car lover's hearts' sank when they saw images of bent and destroyed classic Corvettes at the bottom of a sinkhole last February after the floor of the National Corvette Museum gave way. General Motors announced Wednesday it would restore the one millionth Corvette ever produced to its former glory. The 1992 convertible was heavily damaged when a 40-foot deep sinkhole opened beneath a bevy of rare cars at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Since then, GM has been slowly restoring the classic cars, though five of the eight that caught in the sinkhole were determined to be too damaged to repair. This November, the 2009 Corvette ZR1 Blue Devil was the first car to be returned in mint condition to the Museum, according to Autoblog. It suffered significant damage but was still drivable after being pulled out of the debris. The one millionth Corvette is still in bad shape. The automaker is estimating six months worth of work to restore the car, which sustained paint scratches, rear-suspension damage and a mangled front fender. Car buyers have a responsibility to be well-informed consumers. That's not always a very simple task, but some guidelines are self-evident. If you live in a very snowy climate, you generally know a Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro might not be as viable a vehicle choice as an all-wheel drive Explorer or Traverse, for example. If you want a fuel-efficient car, it's generally a good idea to know the difference between a diesel and a hybrid. But what if it's kind of tough to be an informed consumer? What if the information you need is more difficult to come by, or worse, based on different standards for each vehicle? Well, in that case, you might be a truck shopper. For years, customers of light-duty pickups have had to suffer through different ratings of towing capacities for each brand. For 2015 model year trucks, though, that will no longer be a problem. According to Automotive News, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler Group have announced that starting with next year's models, a common standard will be used to measure towing capacity. The Detroit Three will join Toyota, which adopted the Society of Automotive Engineers' so-called SAE J2807 standards way back in 2011. The standard was originally supposed to be in place for MY2013, but concerns that it would lower the overall stated capacity for trucks led Detroit automakers to pass. Ford originally passed, claiming it'd wait until its new F-150 was launched to adopt the new standards, leading GM and Ram to follow suit. Nissan, meanwhile, has said it will adopt the new standards as its vehicles are updated, meaning the company's next-generation Titan should adhere to the same tow ratings as its competitors. While the adoption of SAE J2807 will be helpful for light-duty customers, those interested in bigger trucks will still be left with differing standards. There is no sign of the new tow standards being adopted for the heavy-duty market.

The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.
