This is a rare opportunity to start with an HONEST car. NO fluff. What you see is what you get. Original paint that is hiding NOTHING. The photos show you the reality, not an illusion. Trim tag shows Regal Turquoise and India Ivory. I have done a very close inspection and I believe the top was white from the factory. I truly believe the deck lid and quarters where painted white by the dealer. There is no Bondo or any metal repairs. Clear Kansas title.

Car is a true BelAir car. It is complete and in super condition. I was told that it was stored in a barn since the early 80's. All the stainless is in SUPER condition and is completely useable and would be easy job to make perfect. Most of the chrome is nice and would make good cores for re-plating. I have keys and all locks work.

It has an original 55 265 V-8 that runs like a sewing machine. (if your sewing machine needed the carb rebuilt). Seriously, no knocks, no smoke. Sounds great with the glass packs and tailpipes. Nice back rap. Rebuilt once in the past. Heads were set up for unleaded in past rebuild. New fuel pump, coil, cap, rotor, plugs and wires. Fresh oil and filter. Starts right up. Just a lttle hesitation (minor accelerator pump issue) 20 lbs oil pressure at idle and 40 lbs at higher rpms. 140-150 psi on all cylinders. Generator appears to be charging.

Transmission is a 3 speed manual. shifts into all gears fine.

I have not had this on the road. just moved it back and forth around the yard. Tires are old bias ply and have excellent tread but have show a lot of dry rot cracks and will need replaced prior to highway driving.

Seats are in very good condition. All the door panels, trim, armrests, etc. present.

Clock WORKS! It is ticking away right now. Headlights work as do the tail lights, Cigarette lighter, dash lights, park lights, glove box light, turn signals, tag lights, dome light. The horns test fine and sound GREAT, but are tempermental and do not sound off with the horn ring.
Not working is the radio, heater motor, wiper motor, left front marker light. Heater core or control valve has a small leak.

I installed 4 new wheel cylinders and master cylinder. Fuel tank needs replaced and at least one long brake line. Brakes are working on the front only right now. Emergency brake works fine. The brake shoes are all still fine. Front wheel bearings looked fine also.

Body is very straight as you can see. Doors are both solid with only surface rust on the bottoms. They open and close great. Deck lid and hood are also very solid with some minor dents. The floors are in great condition with no rust thru. The trunk floor also is nice with no rust thru. There are some small areas of rust thru which are very minor and usual to these cars. Pictures will show some rust thru at the tail pan and brace, fender eyebrows, and very small holes in the quarters. Will need both small floor braces, end repair on the rear main floor brace, and some inner rocker repair, etc.

All glass is present and in good condition, except winshield which has bb holes and a crack. All windows operate nicely, except left quarter window. it wants to go but I don't want to force it.

I have tried to cover everything. I encourage you to call me and I will give you details on any questions that you may have. This is not your average car. It is exceptional for it age. It is not common to find a car like this anymore. If you really compare this car with other "projects",  I know you will see the value in this one. Thanks for looking at the auction. Bid early and bid often. This car is a great investment.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray priced from $51,995*

Fri, 26 Apr 2013

After months of speculation, Chevrolet has finally revealed the official starting price of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The base MSRP for the 450-horsepower Stingray Coupe will be $51,995, while the Stingray Convertible will go for $56,995 (*both prices include a $995 destination fee). This means that the price increase from 2013 to 2014 is just $1,400 for the coupe and $2,395 for the convertible - pretty modest increases considering the upgrade in specifications. Of course, neither price accounts for the sort of dealer markup that might grace early C7 window stickers, especially since less than a third of all Chevrolet dealers will be allocated Corvette models to sell at the car's launch.
Now, these prices are for the base car, so if you're wondering how much a fully loaded Stingray will run, Chevy has given us a good indication of that as well. The coupe we saw on display at the Detroit Auto Show (shown above), for example, would run $73,360 including options such as the $2,800 Z51 Performance Package, $2,495 competition sport seats and the $1,795 Magnetic Ride Control option - just to name a few. Stepping up to the 3LT trim level that brings a full leather interior will run an extra $8,005 over the base price.
While $20,000 in options may seem like a lot, this "as-tested" price still has the C7 competitively priced against rival coupes like the Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R. Speaking of price comparisons, Chevrolet also points out that the C7 Stingray Z51 costs $2,200 less than the C6 Grand Sport while delivering better acceleration (0-60 mph in less than four seconds) and improved track performance (including more than 1 g in cornering).

GM recalling 316k vehicles due to headlamp faults

Mon, Dec 1 2014

General Motors has announced a recall covering 316,357 vehicles globally, due to the possibility of sporadic or permanent failure of the low-beam headlamps. 273,182 of these vehicles are in the United States, while the remaining affected units are in Canada, Mexico, and elsewhere. This recall includes the 2006-09 Buick LaCrosse (pictured above), 2006-07 Chevy TrailBlazer and TrailBlazer EXT, 2006-07 GMC Envoy and 2006 GMC Envoy XL, 2006-07 Buick Rainier, 2006-08 Saab 9-7X, and 2006-08 Isuzu Ascender. In an email sent to Autoblog, General Motors explains that if the headlamp driver modules are not functioning correctly, "the low-beam headlamps and daytime running lamps could intermittently or permanently fail to illuminate." GM states that this problem does not affect things like high-beams, turn signals, marker lamps, or foglamps. As of this writing, GM states it "has not been able to confirm whether the HDMs in these vehicles caused any vehicle accidents." The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been notified, but the recall has not yet posted to the government agency's website. Scroll down to read the full details in GM's email. General Motors is recalling 273,182 Buick LaCrosse sedans and Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Saab and Isuzu midsize SUVs in the U.S. for possible intermittent or permanent loss of low beam headlamps. Affected models are: 2006-2009 Buick LaCrosse sedans; 2006-2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer and 2006 TrailBlazer EXT; 2006-2007 GMC Envoy and 2006 Envoy XL; 2006-2007 Buick Rainier; 2006-2008 Saab 9-7X and 2006-2008 Isuzu Ascender midsize SUVs. If the headlamp driver modules is not operating correctly, the low-beam headlamps and daytime running lamps could intermittently or permanently fail to illuminate. This condition does not affect the high-beam headlamps, marker lamps, turn signals, or fog lamps. GM has not been able to confirm whether the HDMs in these vehicles caused any vehicle accidents. The total population, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico and exports from North America is 316,357. The NHTSA was sent the Part 573 information for this recall on November 25. It has not yet posted to the NHTSA website. Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites

Sun, Jan 7 2024

Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.
