Up for sale is my 1954 Chevy Belair. As strange as it sounds, the best words to describe this car is unmolested custom. It looks stock, but it is not. Just enough tweaks to make it clean and smoother than an original car, but not to the point of being obvious or obnoxious. The SBC (350 CI) and Camaro Rear End make a good paring for this car also. The seats have been recovered front and back, new headliner, and all new door and window crank handles. Steel dash, gages, and face plates are in very good condition. The inside of this car is very nice and except for the radio and Hurst shifter it is stock. All the windows go up and down as they should. The seats move forward and back. The trunk is solid and has no holes. Although the engine only has a two barrel carb, the dual exhaust has a nice mellow sound to it. The body is straight and so is the stainless steel trim. The chrome is in nice shape. The glass is the original glass and is in good shape. It has P215-65R 15" tires. The rear bumper was welded and re-chromed as one piece.

Last but not least is the front suspension. It is the original setup. I don't mean it still has the original parts and it is falling off, but rather that it has never been converted to something better and newer. It has no power steering so it takes effort to turn.

This car will have to be trailed or towed because the brakes do not work.

Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]

For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. The Basics: General Motors will recall over 473,000 North American examples of the 2015-2016 Chevrolet Silverado HD, GMC Sierra HD, and police pursuit versions of the Chevy Tahoe. These include 426,573 vehicles in the US and 46,837 in Canada, according to Reuters. The Problem: The brake pivot nut can loosen over time, which can render the pedal inoperative. This would be a danger to drivers trying to stop the vehicles. In some cases, the "Service Engine Soon" light might come on. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The Fix: Dealers will inspect the pivot bolt, and if necessary they will apply adhesive to it and reinstall the part with increased torque. GM slashes prices in China as sales falter

Buying a vehicle from General Motors' stable of brands might be a lot cheaper in the near future – at least for customers in China. The effort comes as GM hopes to keep sales there growing, and the decision alludes to yet another sign that the Asian country no longer has the booming auto market of past years. GM and its Chinese joint venture partner SAIC are slashing prices by as much as the equivalent to $8,700 on 40 models from Buick, Chevrolet, and Cadillac, according to The Detroit News. Across all of automaker's nameplates, the overall sales dipped in China in April by 0.4 percent to 258,484 vehicles. Among the drops, Buick was down 8.5 percent, and Chevy shrunk 5.6 percent. Caddy's numbers increased 4.6 percent for the month, though. Buick remains a popular brand in the minds of Chinese consumers, but according to The Detroit News domestic automakers there are starting to eat into the dominance of foreign companies in the market. The country remains important for GM, though. Late last year, it outlined a future strategy that included China as a major pillar, including a $14 billion investment to build five new factories and boost sales.
