Amazing 1955 Chevrolet 210 Project Nearly Completed!! on 2040-cars
1955 Chevrolet 210 that just needs a engine, transmission and some interior parts installed to make an incredible car. If you are looking for an easy project to complete for a 1955 Chevrolet 210 then this is one to consider. High end restoration nearly complete. It only needs the engine, transmission and interior installed. All bodywork, paint, and all other parts are there already! From the pictures you can see that most of the parts needed to complete the car are there. All of the hard work has been done. The pictures do not do the car justice as it is dusty, but the paint and body is extremely good on this car. You would be hard pressed to find another one with this small amount remaining to be done on it. The paint only has one scratch on it, that you can see in the picture. You only need the transmission, engine of your choice, and the interior. Car is extremely solid, only had to have new rear floor pans installed. All other sheet metal is original to the car. The car has had mini tubs installed in order to get some wider wheels on the back. The car does have a narrowed 8 inch Ford rear end on it. It also has had a complete Camaro subframe installed with disc brakes, steering column etc. With the car is: All Glass Windshield and rear glass is new. Windows are in great shape and did not need to be replaced All Chrome is new Speedometer cluster is new Steering column is new Wiring harness is new Tons of new parts included. All new rubber moldings, trim, etc. Needs seats, door panels and carpet to finalize the interior. The only reason I am selling this car is that I have another project that I need to complete. It will be a great car for someone and can be ready just in time for spring. I am just tired of seeing it under the cover waiting to be completed. I do have a 6.0L LS Motor and 6 Speed transmission that I would consider including for an additional cost. Bill of sale in Georgia for the car. It would not take much to make this a $60K to $75K car! |

GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories
Wed, 06 Feb 2013As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
Junkyard Gem: 2003 Chevrolet Tracker
Wed, May 22 2024When General Motors created the Geo brand to sell vehicles designed and — in some cases — built by Japanese partners, the first four models were introduced for the 1989 model year: the Metro (Suzuki Cultus), Prizm (Toyota Sprinter), Spectrum (Isuzu Gemini) and Tracker (Suzuki Sidekick). Geo got the axe in 1997, with the Metro, Prizm and Tracker becoming Chevrolets. Of those, the Tracker survived the longest, with U.S.-market sales continuing into 2004. Here's an example of a very late Tracker, found in a North Carolina car graveyard recently. The 1989-1997 first-generation Trackers were based on the Suzuki Sidekick, while the 1998-2004 Trackers had the Suzuki Vitaras (not to be confused with the much grander Grand Vitaras) as their siblings. Production of these trucks for the South American market (as the Chevrolet Vitara) continued in Ecuador all the way through 2014. The Tracker name has also gone onto some versions of the Chevrolet Trax around the world. This one is a base four-door hard top/rear-wheel-drive model, which had an MSRP of $17,330. That's about $29,789 in 2024 dollars. You'll find one in every car. You'll see. The engine is a Suzuki 2.0-liter straight-four rated at 127 horsepower and 134 pound-feet. A five-speed manual was base equipment, but very few American vehicle shoppers wanted three pedals by the middle 2000s. This truck has the Aisin four-speed automatic. We like it loud. It appears that someone associated with this truck graduated from Julius L. Chambers High School last year. In the United States, the Tracker was replaced by the Saturn Vue. If Tracker can handle (unspecified Middle Eastern country), it can survive the jungle back home. Siempre contigo.
GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title
Thu, 12 Sep 2013General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.
